Many thanks to Blue Highway for this song from their "Wondrous Love" CD. If anyone has ever taken a long distance bus trip, as I have, you do have the sensation of simply passing through this world. As a Christian, I live life in light of eternity, seeking to live for Jesus and finding joy in the life He's given me on earth, but also living with a longing for Heaven and the Presence of my Savior.

From the "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" CD. . . My father counts his riches in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I believe that God's does so as well. His real jewels will be those who have been redeemed by His Son, Jesus. The streets of gold and heavenly jewels we read of in the Bible are likely there for the benefit of God's children and not our God, who prizes most our love for Him. We are here to give God glory, to be the jewels in His crown. Come all who have been orphaned by sin. God sent his Son Jesus to ransom us, so that we might become the adopted children of the Heavenly Father.

Human love may fail, but God's love never will. It is through loving each other here, however, we gain a glimpse of God's great love. One day the curtain will part and we will see, know, and understand the expanse of God's love. What a glorious day that will be!

This is a hymn of praise to our unchanging God. Even if it seems as though the world has done so, God will never leave us or forsake us. Hold onto His hand. He is holding onto you. When I was a child, no family picnic at a nearby state park was complete without the thrilling crossing of an unused train trestle suspended over a river. As small as I was, the space between the ties seemed too far for my small legs, but not too far if I was holding fast to my father's hand. The trestle has sense been torn down; and I am more likely needed to support my elderly father as he walks, still I have the blessed assurance that my God remains the same. He has been, He is, and always will be God.
