For over 27 years, The Bay Institute (TBI) has been working to protect and restore San Francisco Bay and its vast watershed from the Sierra headwaters to the Golden Gate.

The Bay Institute was founded by pioneers of a new advocacy approach that viewed the Bay, the Delta, and their tributaries as a single, interdependent system. Today, The Bay Institute employs an effective combination of science, education, restoration, and advocacy to work toward the environmental restoration of the entire watershed, from the Sierra to the sea.
