I am a lifelong baseball junkie and have been player, coach, manager, instructor, dad of a successful NCAA ballplayer and since 1999, the president and publisher of BaseballTips.com, Softball-Tips.com and Baseball-Articles.com.
My passion for watching kids strive to conquer this game and the collection of steps & missteps along the way is life at its most human. It holds lessons that are hard to understand for somemaybe even most. The passion & desire to improve, mixed in with a players skill and potential leaves few at the top of the pyramid, and like anything worth fighting forit is hard, and it takes so much longer to develop than any other game I know.

I am in and around baseball some 300 days a year... my main interest.
I run a growing baseball-related company. I take business trips to baseball towns ...albeit to outstanding places where one would love to vacation... (what a coincidence).... that's my job!
My Writing Den I live and write in my loft in downtown Asheville, North Carolina and walk to the Colorado Rockies Low A ballpark I guess it qualifies as an interest.
So, other than friends, family, people in general and baseball... its travel!
Not so bad!
Movies:
Bull Durham, Field of Dreams as favorite baseball flicks, well acted portrayals of strong characters with depth and substance. Seeing good becoming great, those who overcome obstacles that can and really do happen to some in the real world.
Music:
Rock from 1964 and forward. 21st century Indie music and live bands.
I know...rock on old guy.
Books:
Biographies in general. The human condition teaches important lessons and captivates most of us. Generally, books aren't written about boring individuals so I am usually amused by the end. Churchill would have been a great baseball manager...one that players would have told stories about as old men...maybe even some told with a straight face. A real baseball character!
