Vote 1 Barry O'Shea for Mayor of the New Regional Council, Dalby, Qld, Australia.
Name: Barry
I was born in Dalby, started school in Jackson & estbalished my own business, O'Shea and Co Electrical, back in Dalby in 1963. I have lived, worked and raised my family here ever since...

I've been on the Dalby town council for the past 10 years and Deputy Mayor for 4.

b) Established the 1st LIFELINE local branch and chaired the committee for 6 years.

c) Was a member and currently Chairman, of the Condamine/Balonne Water Committee, which plays a major roll in the district's water quality.

d) Was a founding Director of the Condamine Alliance which in partnership with, Australian & Queensland Governments, funds natural resource management and Land Care etc

I'm a husband to Eileen O'Shea & Father to 9 children (Paul, Richard, Lecy, Philip, Clare, Fiona, Majella, John & Mark). All born and raised in Dalby.

I have recently received your campaign flier in the post and I must say, a very interesting angle. Firstly the "are you 18 years of age or older? Then you can..." was the hook and with only 3 points it capitalized on the short attention spans. Being so concise it didn't make me feel ripped of for being lured into wanting to find out whats in the flyer. The three points account for everything from the droughts to the amalgamation and with further information on youtube link it balanced out the intentionally brief flyer. Very well done. Are you intending to continue uploading videos and replying to user posted replies?

Kind Regards,

Vital Developments are great, what about mum and dad who are trying to put up a shed and cannot get any help.....................

Or mum and dad who are told they cannot rebuild thier house if it burns down as they are in aflood zone????

Nice try........... local pollies have blown it, led by one who ownes a plumbing and hardware store, one who is a dog doctor and one who makes a living selling softdrinks in a laudromat...... wow what leaders.

Stand up Dalbyites throw these bastards out on thier ear, new blood is needed so badly.

Hi There... Thought I'd just respond to KazLawrie.

Of course its frustrating when local government authorities seem to take so long to process planning applications. With the increased resources available to the new regional council, I intend to introduce new, efficient practices to accelarate approvals for vital developments.

As to whether Dalby planning rules will apply to all communities, of course not! Planning rules for construction, flood heights and other facilities, should REFLECT THE NEEDS OF THE LOCAL COMMUINTITES. It will be the role of the regional council to asisst the local communities to continue to develop and implement their planning, not to take it away from them.

Hope this helps set the records straight and thanks for voicing your concerns,

Barry.
