Were you there in the begining like God? Do you know all things like God? Do all the elements of earth obey your every command like God? No! So then why would you question an all powerful being? The problem with most athiest is that they are not able to accept that some thing are beyond thier own understandings. If something do not mach thier own understandings, they choose not to belive.

What is Jesus purpose here on Earth ?

Jesus is here to preach the Kingdom of God.

It seems to me like you just look in the old testament and look at all the odd things (The red heifer thing) and make it look like that still applys to Christianity. When Jesus died, a new covenant was created where we did not have to do ANY of those things because we our sins are now forgiven. We dont need Ash water anymore because our unclean-ness is forgiven by God.

In the begining God created the heavens and the earth and He is a loving, merciful and almighty God. He has a perfect son named Jesus who He sent to die for the sins of the world so that we would have a chance for eternal life. And it hurts Gods heart to see Christ suffer like that then see people like you having to go to hell(im not judging you) after all jesus had to go through for you. Thats all you need to know.
