Iran/ Iraq War 1980-1988 started by Saddam Hussein in Sep 22, 1980. It was the longest high-intensity war of the 20th century, with over 1 million casualties, and 1.5 million injured civilians and miltary personnel. A ware that made 6 million Iranians homeless and 6 major Iranians were destroyed. Iraq repeteadly used chemical weapons aganist Iranian military ad civilian targets, while United Nations silently stood by. Over 100,000 Iranin soldiers died by Iraqi chemical weapons (nerve cgas, Sarin, Mustard Gas). The best known case of such attacks is when Saddam Hussein troops used Chemical weapons against Iraq's own Kurdish civilian targets inside Iraq at Halab-che. The effects of the Chemical weapons has reslted in many birth defects, pollution of water and ground resources. Over 7 million landmines demark the Iran/Iraq borders.
