Views on SS amps have changed, but more polarised. Most players realise there's little point in valve amps when everything else in the signal chain is SS. Cost and convenience are a fact in the equasion too. Since 'current feedback' has been fitted to SS amps and small guys like me take the ti...

Thank you Jazzper for your kind comments. The technology is the same... it's just that I've learned a lot more since those days and am now able to design better circuitry! Knowledge is the key to anything in life, IMHO! Stewart
Soldering a Guitar Cable
Mike from http://www.puremix.net shows what a bad solder is. He also demonstrates how to fix and solder your own guitar cables.
ThePureMixTutorials • 28,129 views
All, but the real cheapest, instrument cable available has a conductive plastic layer beween the hot conductor 'insulation' and shield. This prevents handling noise when the cable is moved about. If this noise preventing layer touches the hot conductor or solder joint, it will impair the tone/v...

Do you mean 'an electro- acoustic guitar' with a passive under-saddle transducer? If so, the input impedance of RC30 is too low for it and will cause this problem. Use an electro-acoustic with a built in preamp or buy an external preamp.

Hmmmm. Most definately a fake! It's not hard to see that!! There are loadza small outfits churning them out... and $300-500 is way more that it's worth! $50 more like it if you want something with a fake Fender logo.

Nice, the trapeze tailpiece shortens the sustain. Great for rapid chord work and old school jazz styles. Best sounding 335 in your vids, IMHO.

Very bad soldering technique used here. You NEVER put solder on the tip of the iron and then take it to the joint. This causes dry (cold) joints.
Never put jacks into the equipment to hold them in place... the jack tip can become very hot during soldering! Use an engineers 'vice'.

Sadly, the 'sleeve' has been bent and prevents the magnet from returning to its natural 'short' position. This is what causes exactly this problem. If it happens to a regular jack, it is not a problem.
It is NOT a manufacturing fault. You need to take more care with these sophisticated jacks...
