This is an archival playlist for teenage videos and films produced at the Center for Young Cinema, Austin, Texas between 1999 and 2001. Originally Volume 1 contained 15 films of this two-year period. This selection embraces videos that did not address film or television genres or conformed to direct parental expectations.
Two of the films here were broadcasted on HBO Family Channel 30x30 programming.
These videos were created for RecogizeGood's iWitness Goodness. Participants filmed acts if kindness around the community. Learn more about RecognizeGood at recognizegood.com and recognize someone today!
During the 2007 NAMAC Conference, twenty teens from all over the US had 24 hours to script, shoot, and edit a five-minute short in groups of four. These are the finished products of each group.
Every year, Austin School of Film and SXSW Film have a 24-hour film competition on the first weekend of SXSW Film. Filmmakers, ages 14-19, get into groups of four and have only 24 hours to write a script, shoot, and edit a five-minute short according to set guidelines. ASoF teachers and mentors, editing equipment, meals, and drinks are provided. This event is for FREE, and all you have to do is contact Maria at maria@austinfilmschool.org.
