You should ask the Pietro factory. There are many accordion makers in Italy and I'm sure they all have their special stories. Whether the factory in question actually made your accordion is an open question (especially if it says "made in Germany" on your instrument). Some accordion manufacturers adopt Italian names for prestige. Many Chinese accordions today will have Italian brand names but are not made in Italy. Also some instruments (like the Hohner Gola) were designed by a Italian but built in Germany.

I recently found a rather old Pietro accordion. It says made in Germany on the accordion. I checked the Pietro website and they are based in Italy. It would be a great help if you had any knowledge on these particular piano accordions(Its a half size). It's quite old and I thought it would be interesting to know a bit of its history.
