Tamanho: até 30 cm quando criado em lagos, nos aquários não se desenvolve tanto.
Tempo de vida: quanto maior o tamanho, mais tempo vive, podendo chegar aos 20 anos ou mais. Nos aquários vive em torno de 10 anos.
Raças:

Cabeça de leão ou Lionhead: possui uma carapaça gelatinosa que envolve a cabeça e não possui nadadeira dorsal. Possui imensa variação de cores;
Olho de bolha ou bubble eye: possui bolhas de fluídos corporais localizadas abaixo dos olhos e não possui nadadeira dorsal. É um dos mais exóticos.
Celestial: os seus olhos lembram o do telescópio, só que são inclinados para a superfície. Encontram dificuldade em achar comida.
Telescópio: possuem os olhos saltados para fora e uma grande variação de cores.
Oranda: possui uma carapaça gelatinosa em volta da cabeça, podendo até encobrir os olhos, tornando-os invisíveis.
Ryukin: possui uma corcunda e uma cabeça afilada e é considerado um dos mais belos da espécie.

Esse festival (matsuri, festival tipico japones) foi iniciado em 859. É um festival dedicado a fertilidade nos campos, para garantir fartura de arroz. Sao selecionados cinco pessoas consideradas em "má-condição" ou de má sorte (3 pessoas que estao no ano de azar de acordo com o Budismo, uma que tem defeitos fisicos, uma pessoa com vicios) para purificação e revertimento de sorte. Vestidos com quimono estilo Ninja vermelho (cor que afasta o azar e traz vida), rosto coberto (para esconder os problemas e a ma sorte perante aos Deuses) os cinco eleitos passam por rituais de purificação nos templos que duram em média uma semana. Carregam amarrados na cintura um pênis, um pintão feito de nabo (para simbolizar o polinizador) e o terceiro participante carrega um peixe (uma tainha geralmente) em forma de vagina (recolhedor da semente). E seguem ate o templo Hachimansha, consagrando a purificação total e trazendo a boa sorte para as colheitas).
O primeiro dos participantes toca um pequeno taiko (tambor japones) e ao som do taiko os participantes "balançam o pinto de nabo" heheheh.

Tenteko Festival was started in 859.
In this year, rice fields in Niike area were selected as Shinden (rice fields for gods) for the Daijo-sai.
Daijo-sai is held only once in one Emperor's period, and it's the First Great Thanksgiving Service
after the enthronement of an Emperor of Japan.
Hachimansha (shrine) was built concerning this ritual, and the rice harvested Niike area was offered
to Ise Shrine by Emperor Seiwa.
This festival was originally a rice planting ritual.
Then it changed to a rich harvest festival and has been kept until now.
We can know the styles of living in old days with this festival,
and it was designated for a intangible cultural folk asset of Aichi Prefecture.
The parade of the Tenteko Festival starts from near Niike-cho Kominkan (comunity center) at 1: 00 p.m.
and walk to Hachiman-sha (shrine).
The first three men put phalluses made of radish on their hips.
They thrust their hips in time with the beat of a drum.
Male is likened to a seed and female is likened to a rice field in Japan.
So their action shows sowing and vital energies.

The second man carries a rice chest,
and the third man carries namasu (vinegared dish of raw meat or fish)
and raw fish (bora/mullet ).
They show the style of lunch time during the rice planting season in old days.
At that time, farmers usually had meal twice a day, breakfast and supper.

Fossil Shell Beach (Thai Su-san Hoi, literally "Seashell Graveyard"). Some 7 km west of Ao Nang, this mildly traplike tourist attraction has slates of compressed 40 million year old shellfish, which bear not a small resemblance to concrete. There's also a small grubby museum and a huge slew of gift shops. Entry is a steep 200 baht for foreigners - but only 20 baht for Thais. This Tourist Trap is simply not worth the 200 Baht you have to pay as tourists unless maybe if you are a geology student.

This is an island called "Koh Kai". The name means "Chicken island". The name is because of a rock formation that looks like a chickens head.
Located just 8 kilometres offshore, (around 25 minutes by boat) from Ao Nang, Koh Poda is a small island no more than a kilometre in diameter, covered in palm trees and almost entirely encircled by a soft white sand beach.

A coral reef lies about 20 metres from the beach with a variety of sea life. The irresistible combination of excellent snorkeling, scenery and soft sand make the island a popular choice with snorkelers and day trippers, but surprisingly, it's not crowded.

History of Krabi
From archaeological discoveries, it is believed that Krabi was one of the oldest communities in Thailand dating from the prehistoric period. It is also believed that Krabi was once the town of Ban Thai Samo, one of 12 royal cities that used a monkey as the town symbol. Krabi was a dependency town of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Kingdom. Another legend indicates that the town may have taken its name after the meaning of Krabi, which means sword. This may have stemmed from a legend that says an ancient sword was unearthed prior to the citys founding. Later, the sword became a symbol of Krabi.

Buda (sânscrito-devanagari: बुद्ध, transliterado Buddha, que significa Desperto, Iluminado, que vem do radical "Budh", despertar) é um título dado na filosofia budista àqueles que despertaram plenamente para a verdadeira natureza dos fenômenos e se puseram a divulgar tal redescoberta aos demais seres. "A verdadeira natureza dos fenômenos", aqui, quer dizer o entendimento de que todos os fenômenos são impermanentes, insatisfatórios e impessoais. Tornando-se consciente dessas características da realidade, seria possível viver de maneira plena, livre dos condicionamentos mentais que causam a insatisfação, o descontentamento, o sofrimento.

Do ponto de vista da doutrina budista clássica, a palavra "Buda" denota não apenas um mestre religioso que viveu em uma época em particular, mas toda uma categoria de seres iluminados que alcançaram tal realização espiritual. Pode-se fazer uma analogia com a designação "Presidente da República" que refere-se não apenas a um homem, mas a todos aqueles que sucessivamente ocuparam o cargo. As escrituras budistas tradicionais mencionam pelo menos 24 Budas que surgiram no passado, em épocas diferentes.

O Budismo reconhece três tipos de Buda, dentre os quais o termo Buda é normalmente reservado para o primeiro tipo, o Samyaksam-buddha (Pali: Samma-Sambuddha). A realização do Nirvana é exatamente a mesma, mas um Samyaksam-buddha expressa mais qualidades e capacidades que as outras duas.

Atualmente, as referências ao Buda referem-se em geral a Siddhartha Gautama, mestre religioso e fundador do Budismo no século VI antes de Cristo. Ele seria, portanto, o último Buda de uma linhagem de antecessores cuja história perdeu-se no tempo. Conta a história que ele atingiu a iluminação durante uma meditação sob a árvore Bodhi, quando mudou seu nome para Buda, que quer dizer "iluminado"

Existe uma passagem nas escrituras [Anguttara Nikaya (II, 37)] - a qual é freqüentemente interpretada de maneira superficial - na qual o Buddha nega ser alguma forma de ser sobrenatural, mas esclarece: "Brâmane, assim como uma flor de lótus azul, vermelha ou branca nasce nas águas, cresce e mantém-se sobre as águas intocada por elas; eu também, que nasci no mundo e nele cresci, transcendi o mundo e vivo intocado por este. Lembre-se de mim como aquele que é desperto."

Com isso ele rejeitava qualquer possibilidade de ser tomado como um Deus, mas reafirmava a característica transcendente da sua vivência espiritual e do caminho de libertação que oferecia para os demais seres. Nesse sentido, o Buddha exerceu um papel importante de democratização da religião que, até então, estava sujeita ao arbítrio da casta dos brâmanes.

Para Siddhartha Gautama não há intermediário entre a humanidade e o divino; deuses distantes também estão sujeitos ao karma em seus paraísos impermanentes. O Buda é apenas um exemplo, guia e mestre para os seres sencientes que devem trilhar o caminho por si próprios.
Para o Buda, a chave para a libertação é a pureza mental e a compreensão correta, e por esse motivo ele rejeitou a noção de que se conquista a salvação implorando para uma deidade distante.

De acordo com o Buda Gautama, a felicidade Desperta do Nirvana que ele atingiu está ao alcance de todos os seres, porém na visão ortodoxa é necessário ter nascido como um ser humano. If you enjoy being in a natural environment, taking strolls along lakes or through a forest, or listening to the birds and other animals, then the Shizuoka Prefectural Forest Park is the place for you. The Park, known as Shinrin Kouen, is in Hamakita, which is now part of Hamamatsu City. The forest has a variety of flora and fauna that change with the seasons. There is also a 150m long suspension bridge with a view of Japanese red pine trees, the Tenryu River, and Hamakita itself.
Camping in the Park is possible, provided that you register beforehand at the Visitors Center. You can also stay in the parks facility, called Mori no Ie, which is a combination of a hotel, research and workshop rooms, a gymnasium, and a restaurant.
In addition to daily walking tours, the Prefectural Forest Park also offers a variety of seminars and workshops on the weekends. The park has many different attractions. One of these is the Rainbow Waterfall, which is a 200m long fountain where the water flows down from the top. There is also an outdoor stage built right by the water. If you want a view of the whole park from up top, then you have the option of going to the top floor of the 50 m tower.
Of course, there is no shortage of flowers. For example, the Village Area in the park includes some of the exhibitions from the 2004 Flower Exhibition. The park also retains the Monet garden from the Exhibition. These areas and many more allow for all the flower-viewing you can handle.
There is no entrance fee for the Hamanako Garden Park (although some areas have a small entrance fee), and is open all year, with the exception of the New Year holiday.
Hamakita Forest Park is a large park with a variety of recreational facilities. The park's main draw are the walking trails that criss-cross the boundaries with a variety of views. The trails will take you next to small lakes, down into azalea filled ravines, across manicured gardens, next to uninteresting farm lands, along side creeks, beside long stretches of tarmacked roads, etc. The highlight is to cross the very high, very scary wooden bridge that can give even the most hearty of trekkers a little vertigo, especially if it's windy. There is also a nature center with a focus on the local bird life, unfortunately all captions are in Japanese only. There is a playground, some large playing fields and picnic areas. Next to the park is Gansuiji Temple and Shrine, which are quite interesting. Hamakita F.P. is a nice way to spend some relax and get a little fresh air.

The Park, known as Shinrin Kouen, is in Hamakita, which is now part of Hamamatsu City. The forest has a variety of flora and fauna that change with the seasons. There is also a 150m long suspension bridge with a view of Japanese red pine trees, the Tenryu River, and Hamakita itself.
Camping in the Park is possible, provided that you register beforehand at the Visitors Center. You can also stay in the parks facility, called Mori no Ie, which is a combination of a hotel, research and workshop rooms, a gymnasium, and a restaurant.
In addition to daily walking tours, the Prefectural Forest Park also offers a variety of seminars and workshops on the weekends. These include bird watching for beginners, flying squirrel observations, rope making, and shiitake mushroom cultivation. These are all offered on the different weekends throughout the year. Segundo alguns estudiosos, o ato de colocar flores no altar budista deu origem ao ikebana (lideralmente, flor colocada), creditando sua origem ao monge zen-budista Sem-no-Rikyu, conselheiro do xogum Hideyoshi Toyotomi, que também foi responsável pelo Chadô, cerimônia do chá. Outros voltam a 607 d.C, quando uma missão diplomática da China introduziu-o no Japão.




De qualquer forma, foi no século XIV que a oferenda religiosa, sem perder seu significado, passou a ter também um caráter estético, sendo praticado por nobres. O ato de colocar flores poderia ser tão artístico quando fazer uma escultura. E tanto quanto outras artes, o ikebana tem suas regras que são difíceis de serem compreendidas pelos leigos. Entretanto, o material utilizado é bastante simples. Os principais são as flores e folhas, a tesoura, os suportes (parecem escovas cheios de pregos) e os vasos.

Dependendo estilo são utilizados outros objetos. Existem diversos estilos de ikebana. Só a Associação Ikebana do Brasil tem cadastradas 16 escolas, a maioria com estilos diferentes entre si. Qualquer que seja o estilo, os praticantes de ikebana valorizam o seu aspecto espiritual, onde o silêncio necessário para a concentração na hora de fazer os arranjos, faz o praticante viver aquele momento e apreciar as coisas da natureza, que por si só já trazem muitos significados.

Ikebana — em japonês: ( 生け花 ou いけばな, em japonês:?), literalmente "flores vivas" — é a arte japonesa de arranjos florais, também conhecida como Kado (華道 ou 花道, Kado?) — a via das flores.

Ikebana é uma arte floral que originou na Índia onde os arranjos eram destinados a Buda, e personalizada na cultura nipônica, pela qual é mais conhecida. Em constraste com a forma decorativa de arranjos florais que prevalece nos países ocidentais, o arranjo floral japonês cria uma harmonia de construção linear, ritmo e cor. Enquanto que os ocidentais tendem a pôr ênfase na quantidade e colorido das cores, dedicando a maior parte da sua atenção à beleza das corolas, os japoneses enfatizam os aspectos lineares do arranjo. A arte foi desenvolvida de modo a incluir o vaso, caules, folhas e ramos, além das flores. A estrutura de um arranjo floral japonês está baseada em três pontos principais que simbolizam o céu, a terra e a humanidade, embora outras estruturas sejam adaptadas em função do estilo e da Escola.

IKEBANA SANGUETSU

Há séculos, os japoneses oferecem plantas e flores às divindades. A prática, que era inicialmente associada ao Budismo e aos Mosteiros Zen, se popularizou no Japão e transformou-se em parte importante da cultura do País.

Assim, surgiram técnicas, estilos, escolas e regras que contribuíram para difundir a Ikebana, esta bela expressão artística.

Após a Segunda Guerra Mundial, cresceu o número de estilos espalhados em diferentes regiões do mundo.

A arte da Ikebana Sanguetsu nasceu do amor à beleza da natureza. Seu objetivo é cultivar e elevar a sensibilidade das pessoas através da composição de arranjos florais, resgatando e realçando a beleza existente em cada flor: Despertar o ser humano para esse olhar é a proposta da Academia Sanguetsu,olhar para uma flor é um momento especial, cada flor possui um encanto particular. Esse exercício favorece o despertar dos sentimentos mais profundos, e resgatando a sensibilidade do ser humano.

A missão da flor é: Alegrar a vida, fazer evoluir os sentimentos e harmonizar o ambiente.
