Metal, progressive-metal, progressive-rock... Amyris cannot be pegged in a certain compartment that easily. The band does not try to copy somebody else, but processes different influences in a creative way to create something new and unique.
By doing so, Amyris succesfully creates a bridge between such diverse musical styles as Marillion and Ayreon on one side and the more heavy sounding stuff of bands like Dream Theater and Pain of Salvation.
