スティールパン奏者、音楽家／美術家。多摩美術大学在学中、秋山 邦晴に師事。国内外メディアアート／音楽祭に参加、TVCM楽曲 提供(仏Visual社)、David Toop著書で紹介される。音楽レーベル、 アモルフォンを主宰、自身のソロCDやレアな音楽を発掘／リリー ス。エレクトロダブのバンド、miimo (ミーモ)のメンバー。アフリカ、アジアでの国際協力の経験有。 音楽誌への寄稿、美術展の企画等。

Yoshio Machida (ASCAP) is a sound & visual artist, Steel Pan player. Born in Japan in 1967. He studied minimal art / music / film extensively at Tama art university in Tokyo. Machida has participated in art events / music festivals like ISEA2004, Sonar-Tokyo, Europhonics Jazz Festival, Maerz Musik Festival, etc.. He has been introduced in a book by David Toop. In 2005, "Afterimage" (from CD: Hypernatural #2, Softl Music) had been used as the soundtrack for French TV spot, "Visual". In the 90s, he was involved in international cooperation work in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Machida is also a member of WALK WITH THE PENGUIN ,a collaborative post-rock with Cinc, a Serbian band and Miimo ,dub-electronica unit by tatsu(bass) and Norihide Saji (drum).
