Born and raised in Browntown, Amish's sense of humor is deeply rooted in his Indian upbringing or his "brownness" as he refers to it. He first brought this sense of humor to people with his troupe aptly named 'Fade to Brown' in the form of live sketch comedy shows around GTA. Fade to Brown quickly became a hit selling out show after show until they wrote, produced and performed 'Brown Side Story' at the prestigious Panasonic theater for a crowd of over 700 people. A flurry of media coverage followed the show including a feature article in NOW Magazine, a televised interview on SunTV and national coverage on CBC radio with Jian Ghomeshi. In addition to this great success with Fade to Brown and with the guidance of Floyd Kane of Halifax Film Co. (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, The Guard, The Voice) Amish recently completed, filming a Fade to Brown sketch comedy television special that is currently being aired on Omni TV.
