I didn't get your name, but, for slow motion, I used Sony Vegas 5.0, and basically all i do is hold ctrl and click and drag.
In Final Cut, go to the speed setting and adjust the percentage to between 101 - 200% etc.
In movie maker, from what I remember, I believe you do something with video effects, click and drag 2X speed into it...something like that.
The reverse for speeding things up.
