As the only national advocacy organization dedicated to the protection of cats, Alley Cat Allies mission is to end the killing of cats and lead the movement for their humane care.

We have chartered a course set on protecting and improving the lives of cats by:

• Advocating to change public policy to end the killing, with a focus on increasing accountability from, and government oversight of, pounds and shelters;

• Building the national movement to protect cats by mobilizing and educating the public; and

• Expanding humane care, such as Trap-Neuter-Return for feral cats and high-quality, low-cost or subsidized spay/neuter for all cats, and supporting the efforts of the thousands of individuals and groups across the country acting on behalf of cats.

Founded in 1990, Alley Cat Allies is a national nonprofit organization based in Bethesda, Maryland, supported by more than 260,000 donors and activists worldwide.
