I'm not keen to get some of them, including the first two, the Blaze Bayley ones and the badly-reviewed No Prayer for the Dying, but the ones I have (Somewhere in Time, Powerslave, Brave New World, The Final Frontier, A Matter of Life and Death and Piece of Mind) are great so I've got enough. But if you listen to them now, as a critical person who's not a fan, you realise led zeppelin were just shit. In the 80's everyone was singing just as "girly" as they could. Bruce would hit the highs and still sound like a man. If you get a chance to listen to some of his Samson stuff, he does a "spot on" Ian gillan! Bruce could go from a low rumble to a glass shattering high in one breath and hold notes with operatic grace.

I wish Maiden would've done this cover at a different time in their career. This was from the No Prayer For the Dying era, when Bruce's voice was really rough, and Janick hadn't quite figured out his tune yet. I feel like people who don't listen to Iron Maiden regularly might get the wrong impression of them from this song. They should try covering it again. I'ont know. Just a thought.

Don't get me wrong I like Led Zeppelin and think that Plant really fits them, but I don't think he has the greatest vocal range or charm. For example Freddy Mercury was also a great singer. Different voices, man. I don't think Plant would do too well on "Hallowed Be Thy Name" just like Bruce wouldn't be able to do the mean growls in Edge of Sanity's song Crimson. =)
