  • I'm surprised I didn't find you before!

Great video, and I can't agree more with your philosophy. Subbed!

  • @fl260 Sometimes it takes 5 years to get noticed. LOL. Thanks for watching and leaving us a note.

  • I like how you used an I -3 boobies bracelet

  • @mangojamsontheam This is so cool. I was really starting to think that everyone was missing that subtle endorsement. You can get creative with these lip guards and this one supports breast cancer research. Thank you for being the first to point it out.

  • Jeep,(if I may be so bold as to call you that) I'm loving you more every day bro. Keep it coming. Do you have anything on hammock reviews or self made things? I'm looking into that as I get older and softer Lol. Thanks. ;-JJD

  • @USMC65UH34D DIY is fun but real expensive when it comes to time. Lets see the Amazing Wilderness Camp Chair was a real bonus for me as I get to feeling a little older. That can also be a hammock chair. Then we started with the hammocks but I don't think we are sold on the idea. Mine is a DIY hammock and you can see it hanging in our latest video. "Portable Hammock Frame for Wilderness Camping" If we ever find a hammock we like you will see it. Check out Shugs Channel!

  • @EconoChallenge Thanks jeep. I do have some time since my forced retirement (unemployment from newspaper printing) so I can afford time over money right now. I have seen the videos you are speaking about and enjoyed them immensely . Do you have plans for your DYI hammock? I liked the way it was all stuffed into the bag and already on the ropes, great idea.I saw one hammock like that that I liked,(Boy that was a weird sentence).I can't remember the maker though. It was from England I think. ;-JJD

  • @USMC65UH34D If I can get so I enjoy sleeping in a hammock I think ... I will invest the money in one already built for me. This one was to be a $100 hammock with some bug screen sewn on. But it turned into a $200 hammock cause the first idea did not work at all. I am thinking I am already on my way to purchasing some really nice gear made by somebody who has all the bugs worked out of the design. Might be smarter.

  • @EconoChallenge Yes you are probably right about that Jeep. I sent you a private message. It was rather long but I cant find it now after I sent it. I'm rather new to all this so I may have made a mistake. I hope you get it OK. ;-JJD. (Jim)

  • @USMC65UH34D Checked the in box and unfortunately it did not arrive. Being new you are starting to understand why YouTubers bash YouTube now and then.

  • @EconoChallenge Yes I see the problem. I will try and write tomorrow, my eyes are blurring from all the videos I've been watching and my later box is still full. Lol. Thanks Jeep. ;-JJD. (jim)

  • very nice again Jeep....ive got something similar but got the imusa pot as a component and kit holder and a 1 qt paint can wood gas burner.that fits in it.....i like the versatility on yours..sweet...

  • Great video! I would have to say if you are on a budget then this is defiantly the way to go, but if money is not a problem I would invest in a Jetboil. Keep up the great work. I'll be checking back for more videos. Oh by the way. How quick can it boil water?

  • @RayneOfFurry We should test it again but it boils the standard 2 cups of water in under 10 minutes using alcohol in the pop can stove, wood pellets or hexamine tablets.

  • YOu wished we could see your view, i dont see any problem with just freaken turning the camera around. MAYBE im the weird one

  • @Bansheeflyr Nah your not weird. The next video I take you on a tour of the camp. Much better than just turning the camera around. Check it out.

  • Are you selling these kits?

  • @rjstasio Not yet. We are selling the plans for the hobo stove part of it. With the pot cozy and the cup cozy it now represents many hours to build just one kit. Nobody would pay the price. However we do get asked a lot. So ... we are working on making a few more complete kits and then .... offering them as the prize for some kind of contest .. We have not thought it out that far yet.

  • Where u get the lil wood knobs

  • @2kargarage1 Rather than take little twigs and break them up we use larger branches, remove all the bark and then cut them into pellets. The branches should be too tough to break with your hands. If you cut them out of hardwood you will be able to boil two cups in under 5 minutes.

  • I believe there's no 'BEST' when it comes to gear. We all have different gear and like it and make it work for us in very specific ways. Anyway...i still like ur video a lot! I'm definitely subbing.. Have a good one !

  • @bcm4066 Quietly we agree. We used Best in the title to go fishing for competitive ideas. But in the end you use what works for you. When we are finished (if we will ever be finished) making changes it will be called the Amazing World Famous Cook Kit. Thanks for watching.

  • looks like good ideas and good site to enjoy nature

  • @micmoable Crown land. Land owned by the government and free to enjoy! Thanks for your comment.

  • @EconoChallenge I'd like to metal detect on the crown's land--ha! I've seen some nice finds made in the UK by metal detectorists

  • One of if not "the best" cook kit I have seen on Youtube very well thought out I really like the multiple fuel options.

Where can I get a can opener that cuts from the side like that? I have looked at local retailers and no dice so far.

  • @BANGBANG73 YT site maintenance done I can answer your question. The brand name is "Starfrit". The one I have was purchased at a garage sale. Is Starfrit even in business anymore?

  • Absolutely wonderful video! I love the little kit, very well thought out and practical...

    : )

  • @saradreaming You can drop by anytime talking like that!

  • at 1:45 to 1:51 the can said boob ?! lol

  • @XxairsoftxXify The silicon lip guard was purchased as part of a breast cancer research fundraiser. It says I heart boobies.

  • Thx for share

  • @jwilso096 methyl hydrate is my favourite

  • Your videos are always excellent.

    Great camera mount!

  • Mmmmm! Good food, good ideas. Thanks.

  • @rainbowhiker Enjoy. Thanks for dropping in for a visit.

  • Fellas this just looks like an awesome setup. It makes me want to consider dumping my JetBoil. Great video!

  • @enjoythewildUSA So far this is testing out to replace my MSR whisperlite. I am thinking of taking this kit and the Big Breeze 2.0 with a larger pot. I think I might still be carrying less weight and have two stoves to cook on rather than one. I could have tea with my dinner instead of after!

  • where do u get the fiber glass wrap

  • @dirtbikesrule16 I love these questions. Thank you so much. This one was answered for us by Bushman of Yukon and will have to go into a video in our future. When you go to the hardware store ask them to show you the replacement gaskets for air tight wood stoves. That is the short answer. We started with the round stuff we show in the first video. But if you search around (Canadian Tire up here) you can find the flat stuff you see in this video.

  • Great Job!! Looks awesome!!

  • @TomsBackwoods Well thank you for dropping in to have a look.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing

  • @69Grunden Good food is important when you are hiking.

  • i love the constant evolution in of your set up. you guys are a great source of info. i'll have to sub and spend some more time on your vids.

  • @briargoatkilla Wow. With encouragement like this we will have to keep going! Thank you. We try to stick to stuff that we are actually using in the wilderness.

  • Awesome DIY gear. Keep the videos coming

  • @dragonflyhiker Thank you. I knew you would like this one!

  • @EconoChallenge Have I become that predictable

  • @dragonflyhiker It is kind of like your backcountry boiler.

  • Nice video... I like that Paco's multi pod.

  • @nedeljkomostar Have you built one yet?

  • @EconoChallenge I have a slightly different concept when I'm in wild. For a cup I use kuksa I made my self and for a stove I use modified Swiss Volcano Stove. But there is a very slim difference between SVS and your Thin Can stove....

  • @nedeljkomostar Have you built a multi pod yet? As for the cup... you are seeing into the future. We have a video planned where we try to make a Kuksa or something similar.

  • @EconoChallenge No I haven't built a multi pod... any good link on how to ? For a wooden cup go to my vid with name 'kuksa', it is good source on how to ... also I have answered on tons of questions on that topic.

  • @EconoChallenge I built the tree pod yesterday :o) Can't wait to get it out and do a vid as soon as we get some nice skies :o) I'm assuming you had to alter your camera mount? I had to make mine different from Pacos. We can't get non-threaded plugs that he used. So I changed it up a little. Made it simpler with less parts thus reducing a little weight. But then I added weight using a couple extra lenghts of pipe to make it taller when needed :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Let me know how you lightened up the camera mount. Mine is way heavy with 4 washers to get it to fit correctly.

  • It's an amazing kit - and your presentation of it is top notch! You're just a bit too comfortable and relaxed out there Jeep. It's got to be that wilderness chair, my guess, haha!

  • @wawhiker Actually it was the bugs. Or lack of bugs. I mean we were really really puzzled. This time of year they are sadistic and relentless. We were prepared to do battle and it was like conditions we experience in August. That was why I was so relaxed. Compare that to the filming we did in the same spot last year at this time. The Tree Friendly Suspension System video. The bugs drove us out early last year.

  • How well does your cook stove work with GI canteen cup - I currently use this as a secondary cooking device.

  • @wpribble I picked one up last year to try out. This wood pellet hobo stove does not work with it. The shape prevents it from sitting on top without sliding off or tilting. But we are working on the design so it will work with this kind of cup. What I am looking for is a good DIY lid for the canteen cup. Do you have any ideas?

  • Great video. I like the way everything fits just right in that container, what is the total weight on your AWF Cook Kit? Is the pot you are using about the same size as the GSI cup/pot? Thanks for giving the rest of us some new ideas for our own kits.

  • @MBlackford100 The entire kit is 19 oz. I am told by "Bushman of Yukon" that the cup is smaller than the GSI. It will hold two cups if you fill to the top. But then you can't boil without spilling it all over. I am thinking that the GSI cup would fit into the 1 liter Nalgene. And that makes me think that it could be an improvement over the WF stainless steel cup.

  • Nice job Jeep. Got to like Paco's multi pod. I need to make one of those. I do have a question when I use my hobo stove it gets covered in dirt ash and soot. I wouldn't want to put it inside my cup/pot. How do you keep your pot/cup clean?

    Nate

  • @CdnLifeguard71 The fact is I use alcohol until I run out. Then I switch to wood. Nothing we have tried has worked to deal with the soot. The black ditty bag and black liner in the cup cozy hide the soot. Everything that gets dirty is in the black ditty bag that keeps the container clean. But I do still have to rinse out the cup before I use it. The real pain is trying to get the fiberglass wrap clean after a wood burn. So I use a second dollar store cup when I know I'm burning wood.

  • @CdnLifeguard71 So far I am loving the Multi Pod. Randy does not like it at all.

  • Nice setup Jeep. I searched for the Nalgene screw top jar the other day when I saw it in your previous video. Found them at Nalgene-Outdoors under 'Storage' link. Got to get a couple of them. Thanks for the great tips.

  • @Woodenarrows The 1 litre Nalgene is the perfect size! Thank for dropping in for a visit.

  • @EconoChallenge Just tried to order two of the storage containers and a canteen from the Nalgene-Outdoors website. Filled my shopping cart, on checkout it re-directed me to a Japan site which does not have the containers... rats :-(

  • @EconoChallenge Found them... thanks to our buddy Rich aka Bushman of the Yukon. He found them for me at wildernessdining (dot) com. Just got 3 of them delivered by the mail man.

  • @Woodenarrows Awesome. We are currently without mail service of any kind. I think they are the perfect size for making a freeze dried meal!

  • Great job with the video . Set looks great.

  • @nuckkingfuts Best one yet!

  • Nice set up! Thanks for the tips.

  • @MrJoeyBoombotz We always try to give you something you can use.

  • Beauty set up and execution! :)

  • Respond to this video...Glad you liked it.

  • Excellent kit!

  • @SixtyAteOutdoors Thank you.

  • Amazing! Great video, my friend.

  • @dcordry Thank you.

  • Thanks for sharing another great video........Tom

  • @1620416204 Thanks for dropping a comment.

  • I still need to sew me up an amazing wilderness chair no big bags around here. Relaxing meal there jeep

  • @medicjimr It was just heaven to get out for one night. Loved it.

  • @EconoChallenge Gets you rejuvenated :-)

  • Dou you have a video on how to make the stove and the alcohol burining part.

  • @123JumpingJacks The pop can stove is a very popular project. We do not have any imediate plans to do a video on how to make a pop can stove. Try Tinny at Minibull design. As for the stove, we do have a video called the Wood Pellet Hobo Stove. We put a link in the video for you.

  • @123JumpingJacks a great place to get instructions on the pop can stove is zen stoves .net , It has plans for just about every variation out there.

  • I liked the Fat Albert "mmm mMM MMM" @ 5:19. Good video!

  • @brianjasonlafferty Hey hey hey!

  • Nice upgrade once again pal ;o) The Nalgene containers are cool eh? Although much heavier than the twist & Store or ziplocks. But definitely much stronger. Great shot of it breaking :o) I didn't realize they broke that easy. Great to see ya out there buddy!!!

  • @Ggreenvideos The nice thing about the Nalgene is that is has straight sides rather than angled. Everything fits just perfect.
