Its member states like the alliance, but it will eventually become phased out in favour of a pacific alliance to counter China now that the USSR has collapsed.

The Warsaw pact has been replaced with China, Al-qaeda, and a now even more chaotic Russian sphere of influence. (Also, North Korea).
