Jesus dude, you're just ripping around there. First time I went out for a race on West I had an ok lowside then the next day I caught that nasty pothole going into 4 or 5 (Tight right hander a few past the straight) and ate it hard..
No question you need to be far more precise on a bike. If I bit the dust everytime I dropped a tire off the track, I'd be in the hospital many times over. I think 2/3 of my first laps on west track, I completely left the pavement in turn 1. It just looks like you can brake later than you really can. Much respect to the bikes. I never bought one because I'm afriad I'd get addicted and lose interest in cars!
One of my all time favorite near get offs at West was heading into turn 1 at the end of the straight. One of the super extra uber faster rider's came in on my inside and scared the shit out of me. In any case I was already carrying too much speed and it spooked me up and I went off the track ALL the way up the far hill to the fence.. (65mph on the dirt on track tires when you're already scared shitless is fucking awsome!!! Not really though)
It looks like you figured this track out pretty quick. I'll look for you at the next PAS event. Z06, what color? If you could edit or cut the video down it would be easier to see 1x. Amazing low end torque....

Yes, these were back to back sessions the same day. You get four 20 minute sessions for $140. Not too bad, huh? The other one is cut a bit short because I was completely out of gas. I had to get off and go to the gas station. Racing burns a scary amount of fuel. Track is 1.2 miles, I think. Don't know lap times. Did I even get a lap without traffic?
I bought a c5 base to flip. Driving it around makes me appreciate torque. Would like to look into a c5 z06 one day. If you know any that wants 00 blue targa c5 in manual - look for about $17,900.
Don't know anyone looking for a vette but your price sounds fair. You can post in corvetteforum's (not corvetteforums) C5's for sale section for free.
Hey man, have we met before? Do you hang with the black E46 M3 and the silver GTI? I'm so jealous of the instant power of the z06. I always need to be at the right RPM in order to have power and I cant control that all the time. You dominated. I wont be out there on the 24th - out of town. I will be out there in December. No we haven't met and I don't know those guys. I was parked by the fence next to my brother's blue MR2. I'd like to do PIR too but NASA is the only org. I know that runs there and their orientation/registration sounds like a massive PITA on their website. Plus I live in Tucson so it's a really long drive for me. I'll get around to it someday when I get bored of Firebird's three tracks. I'll let you know when I get more vids up and I'll say hi if I see you around.
That's right. The track turned out to be just perfect for me so that I could leave the car in third gear the whole time. I'd just hit the limiter at the end of the straight. It's nice to have little torque and not have to shift all the time.
That's actually pretty cool to watch lol

Yes, the two videos of Firebird west are in 2x speed while the ones shot 11-24-07 on main track are in regular speed.

Would have been better in 1X, but it never gets old seeing you lap that 350Z. :-)
