OH ya I forgot to mention, awesome recipe! I didnt know you could eat the garlic stalks (scapes?). And if you cant get pine nuts in NB, then use Walnuts! It tastes really really good too.
You know my neighbor just gave me some of this garlic and it was so good!! I saute my too but with some steak it was good! I liked your video and the pesto looked good! That would be good on a sandwich! *_* Rock on!
I grew garlic this year for the first time and I found the scapes are really tasty. Now I wish I had a lot more. Cook them along with some potatoes and shallots in olive oil. Yummy.
We went to the "Farm" today & were talking about pesto,huh...Thanks for the ideas....picked some spanish onions, big hot peppers & eggplants...tomatoes were poor from the lack of rain...
Very cool salted garlic greens! How long does that last? Do you have to leave the lid off for a while before it dries out?
I started drying out my basil. That was easy, just pick it wash it and put it out on a paper towl to dry for a few weeks. Came out great! I'll use that in the winter. (for some reason I'm not a "pesto person" lol.but I like to cook with some basil)
@gardenvespers777 Oh no you can keep it in the fridge for a very very long time. But I have to say it's not as tasty as the ones made with onion chives. I still have some basil from last year and the greenhouse ones are growing very well
must make me some pesto!
