I would agree that your use of the inner two mallets are a little bit heavy. I would suggest using a hard on the outside right hand, to med. hards on the inner two, and a med. soft on the outside of the left hand. This allows the melody, when played with the right hand, to float over the accomp. At least, thats how i been taught. None the less, bravo!
I think you did really well with this piece. You have great musicianship and that is one thing i appreciate about this piece is that it allows for each musician who performs it to really put their feelings and emotions into it.
I absoloutly LOVE this song, and your dynamics and use of the pedal are amazing, but I agree with rythmheadquarters. You seems to gravitate towards the two inner sticks rather than using the full range, but you still pulled it off wonderfully.
practice my man,& use the radial motion, what i'm trying to say is that you must play with all 4 sticks even the parts in wich you have just one voice...practice & find out
really nice dude, you get way more feeling in than i play, my only crit is a small section in the swing bit, i was making the same mistake where you drop half a beat of a bar its like the fourth bbar with bto g in the left hand, i cant remember which bar, but you should practice that section with a metronome it feels alot nicer once it is really tight.
i love studio 49 vibraphones
