  • @docrw, Jonsered is a Husky. Jonsered bought out the old models of husky and labelled them their own

  • The saws look fairly comparable here. I have friends with a store, selling Stihl, Husky and Echo. Most customers are pro-cutters. They sold Homelite before they went to China, and Poulan at one time also. how do you rate a similar sized ECHO?

  • Wow another numbnuts about the cutting gear! read the other comment dip$h!t, you're a little late and i'm still running saws. Maybe you can take your next unepmployment check and plop down a grand for one of these saws and some walmart work boots and make a video so we can all see how it's done!

  • I'd fire your ass in a heart beat for no better equipped than you are..get away from that fuc%in saw...

  • Shorts and running shoes???..no gloves???..ya gottia be shittin me???

  • senza guanti scarpe da ginnastica e pantaloncini

  • love that 372

  • And actually poulan makes the small homeowner saws the 200 series. After that husky makes husky. Husky also makes poulan pro saws. But only the pro saws, not that theyre good for pro use.

  • Electrolux no longer owns husqvarna.

  • @goodkat8567 Yep bought Husky in 1978 and sold in 2006 and made a ton of money on the deal. Jonsered baby, now thats a saw.

  • Emanhacker,

You say Husky's are made by Poulan...you've got that backwards my friend. Husqvarna AB bought out many manufacturers of small engine power equipment and Poulan was one of them. Husqvarna makes Poulan out of their Kentucky based factory. Poulan does not make Husqvarna anything.

  • @Robert51483 Poulan is made by Elextrolux witch bought out Husky years ago thats y you can now buy Husky's at Lowes and other big chain stores

  • what a nice pair of protective pants!!!!!!!

  • @coyote1660 Why is it theres a health and safety expert commenting on every chainsaw related video. If the guy cuts his leg off then thats his fault, who gives a shit. Just watch the video and shut the fucking hell up..

  • Kenellies53 i agree with u cause i have one and it quits cutting half way through a tree.

  • husqvarnas are junk now adays if u dont buy pro stihl has easy2start,strato motors, heavy duty frame and always last way longer ima brush monkey myself i for one love stihl because their residential to pro models are top notch to where husky only makes good pro models their resi and mid use saws are made by poulan all junk

  • I been around logging, land clearing, tree cutting all my life,im now 34 y/o u name it we have owned it and ran it, right now and for the last several year Husqvarna has by far the best saws on the market, the bars and chains last longer and stay sharper, they seems to crank easier, and last longer,,and throttle response is better than sthil.

  • Husqvarna rulez

  • grab youre self a pair of jeand some boots and a fie and shapen that husky

  • @tractorkid100 I just made those chains before the test numbnuts to ensure an unbiased and fair test!

  • no chaps, no boots. tsk tsk

  • shorts and sneakers,really smart!!!!!

  • go sthil and only buy sthil

  • Most homosexuals use Husqvarna chainsaws and their gay lovers use Husqvarna sewing machines. True story.

  • 441 sux! Just get the 650/660 and be done with it. Also why the bull nose bar? Narrow tips only! Husqvarna? Never heard of it!!! lol Looks like chestnut or "mountain" oak.

  • 441 sux! Just get the 650/660 and be done with it. Also why the bull nose bar? Narrow tips only! Husqvarna? Never heard of it!!! lol

  • the best is stihl ms 411

  • prefer husqy any day been a mechanic but must say that looks like a 390xp? ms441 sack o' shit

    p.s. have ms460 & husq 372xp

husq all the way! will say this thou husq for fellin stihl for logging!

  • @ratchetbevan huskys are piles of shit

  • idiots.

  • I like your safety gear....Kudos !!

  • I like the 044 and the new 460 stihl! I hat husky

  • I'm the dumbass yet you can's spell stihl!

  • you dumbass you nedd to be in pants and sthil chaps sthil would die if they caught you in shorts

  • I'm 18 and seriously am interested in starting my own tree cutting business. What kind of chainsaw do you recommend for a newbie to the business side of tree cutting? Also, what type of insurance is prefered, do I need a business license for a small part time business and how do you personally market your company? Thanks for the help

  • @IMPORTEDCSL Not trying to be a jerk but hopefully you already have a saw as of now which means your not gonna try tree work and learn your way around saws at the same time. If so than a-lot goes into your startup, liability ins is a must, some states require licenses some don't. Marketing is easy around here, every ash tree in the state and surrounding is dying off so tree services can't keep up. Husqvarna or stihl? Flip a coin and find a good local dealer.

  • @woodman2055

No I've been cutting tree's for a while HOWEVER with an electric saw, which won't be as fast and reliable in daily use as a gas powered one. So I am guessing your saying that Husqvarna and Stihl are the best and most recommended? Thanks

  • @IMPORTEDCSL You should find a service that needs help and learn the ropes(literally)for at least a year. If you're going to climb, even longer. I buy Stihl because of parts availability and I try to keep money around for a good used Stihl, tree guys trade a lot around here. Pole saws make a lot of money for what they are.Work for a service and get side jobs to buy equipment, be close to the boss when he bids a job. You got a lot to learn. Watch your gaps and good luck.

  • @IMPORTEDCSL only buy sthil you need insurance, you need a to get to incorporate and money to start up and definitely take classes on trees and know how to prune what kind of tree needs to be pruned and identify the trees and know how to cut them down and climb if you starting out. just take a bunch of classes

  • @IMPORTEDCSL stay in scholl !!!

  • @IMPORTEDCSL stay in scholl !!!learnn too speel leike mi!!

  • @IMPORTEDCSL lol dude your 18 and dont have a saw im 14 and i run a 576xp just fyi thats a pretty big saw

  • @IMPORTEDCSL , well i would reccomend you go to work for a tree company for a week, then see if u still wanna start your own business, and as for recommending a chainsaw, i dont recommend you touching one.

  • I use chainsaws(Stihl 044s) to thin juniper trees for the Forest Service and I have several 372 Husky's I use to cut xmas trees on an industrial xmas tree farm in Oregon in November(50-65 thousand trees every season). Both saws are great, but I feel the Huskys have a bit more power and acceleration.

  • what a jerk,,, now you have to go shoot skeet and drink beer with wood chips in yer sock!! i hate that! damnit, i hate that!!

  • The old warriour STHIL vs HUSQVARNA, in my opinion bouth r great ... for maybe 0.000000001 seconds one is fastest than the odher..

I like better STHIL because i own one. Long life and prosper to every one.

  • Husqvarna is the best ! ^^

  • I shear do like my Stihl 440 mag and 600 mag! I never had a problim with theam at all! husky is a good chain saws to but i like my Stihl better

  • Besides the bare legs, there's another really serious safety lapse shown here- the sawyer's left hand is mostly just resting on the grip. The ultimate "monkey grip." Almost no control.

Betcha no hearing or eye protection either. A statistic in the making.

  • You guys have something against chaps or work boots? Youtube is full of unsafe practices!

  • ill stick with stihl husky puting some power houses out there but they just dont seem to take abuse as well or last as long

  • God id love to have that pile, i cut and sell firewood also, but am stuck to just getting whatever trees people dont want.....i have an ms290 it was a difficult decision between that and a comparable husq

  • both are almost the same feel..stihl has more top end while husqvarna has a lower more powerful bottom end..

  • never used the 441 but I love my 372. I have a 038 mag but its just a bit heavy to use all day long.

  • have you ever had the chance to run a 362 husky??? its the fastest lightest husky ive ever seen... one bad ass saw.. they discontinued it after the epa claimed it had to much emissions... what a damn shame.. still got mine though.. stihls stay in the shop... huskys stay on the job.. my experience..

  • Either one are fine saws. The 372 is easier to work with with a 20" bar when working out of a bucket while the 441 is a great saw for bucking timber with. Power wise they are so close I wouldn't wanna call one better than the other. The biggest reason I like the 441 is it uses less fuel throughout the course of the day but thats it. Nothing performance wise.

  • which saw is better the stihl or husqvarna?

  • Husky definately!

  • @mrzryder06 no stihl all the way

  • @papabeett boo!!

  • kjw7000

    You can't hire a chainsaw????

And that folks, is called National Health Care.

You need training, to hire a chainsaw???

  • Great comparison Woodman, as we all know stihl and huskys are both great saws. Don't worry too much about all them PPe wowsers, it's a real pain when blokes who don't know much about saws go telling other blokes who saw for a living what bloody ppe they should have on. I'm the same as you, i wear it when i'm working, but if i'm doing something small in the backyard for five minutes, no need, if you know what you're doing.

  • Stihl MS441 the new ones have X-Torq New engine Technologie More RPM when full Load like the New Husqvarna 570 that i use and it puts more Power in the Load then the 372XP

  • stihl dosent have x-torque............it was a air filteration system just asdded to the 441 and less fuel consumption

  • 441 have 2mix engine who produce 16Nm more torque than 576xp husky....and yes it revs 500rpm more than 576xp

  • do you guy sell fire wood????

  • Yeah we sell wood. Not as much as usual since so many people are out of work and are doing whatever it takes to put food on the table the prices have plummeted. Guess i'll have wood for years to come.

  • I could give a shit less about you wearing shorts, but don't your legs and feet itch after? I know it would drive me nuts.

I run a husky 268, nothing better then running a new chain and watching it chew. Good vid!

  • @woodman2055 im from the midwest around chicago been selling and cutting wood 6 years now and every year i sell the piss out of it. i have tons of wood And sell out well before febuary. wish u could have the same luck its tuff work

  • Husky 372 seems to eat in faster 'n the Stihl 441... is it just my eyes or did that double cut seem "easier" on your hands with the Husky?

  • Maybe at the time. The husky was very broke in while the 441 was still very new. The saws are very similar in performance and feel but the 441 sips fuel a little better. Either on is a fine work/firewood saw. Flip a coin.

  • thats smart wearing shorts to cut wood

  • Yeah and we drank a 12 pack before and then shot skeet the rest of the day! Bite me jackass it was a 5 minute demo and nothing more, go surf the net for other people to mess with moron.

  • tell em..

  • In the UK you cant hire a chainsaw without proper training. We have to wear full protection on arms legs hands face and head. On the training we are taught to hold the forward hand proud to keep it close to the chain brake. It seems a wee bit uncomfortable but if you get a kickback the brake cuts in really quick and you get another go at keeping your looks.:)

  • Notice the saw not being held properly. Hope you dont get a kickback. ...Bang no face!

  • Thanks for the tip. Make a video so I can see how to do it right please.

  • both are still extremely high quality saws and would go through pretty much any wood i love both brands of saws. i have used a Husq 394 and that goes through Aussie red gum like nothing i have ever seen before.

  • I cut trees nearly every day, I run a ported Stihl 441 with 25 and 32 in. bars, although I have never run a 372, I have experience with a 390 and it is a great saw so I would imagine that the 372 is equally impressive. With slight modification, the 441 can run with the Husky but is not as powerful out the box. Judging by the 390, the Stihl is a lot smoother. I guess its kinda like Ford and Chevy, they both get the jod done it is just more of a personal thing. Both are great saws nonetheless.

  • nice to here someone talk like a level headed person on here finally. Thank you, it's greatly appreciated.

  • go jonsered!

  • yep I demoed one for a few hrs the other day. Nice saw, much like a 441 but to close in price and weight but not in power. They run almost $700 in the states, another $100 gets you way more saw. The 372 weighs the same but runs cirles around it.

  • i own a 2145 and i found they are the better saw, jonsered has more power than stihl., same thing as a husq only red...

  • woodman2055 have you tried new stihl ms362 yet....we don't have it yet in europe becouse 362 is put to the test in some areas in the USA....

    MS441 all the way

  • Nope haven't trid it yet. I know it's gonna be ready soon but none around here to speak of yet. Looking at the weight vs power unless it performs like a 70cc saw for the price i'll probably stick with a 441 or 372. For a firewood saw it looks awesome though

  • Woops wrong pricetag.

The price is about 2000$, sorry

  • Between the 395 and 660 I would go 660 due to the pig factor of the 395. I personally would go with the 390 over the 660 though. I've ran one against my 660 and it was actually a litlle quicker with less weight, lower vibes and cleaner filtration and will also save you a few bucks. hope this helps. 3/8 would be faster cutting for the bar size you wanna run as well.

  • wat is the pig factor of the 395

  • The 395 has an outboard clutch which makes it a little harder to change chains. Also the weight is a lb or so more than the 660. A guy I contract with has a 390 and honestly will outcut a 660 while being lighter with a slimmer design. Ultimately youu get a powerful saw without the fatique of my 660. I love my 660 but if had to do it over again I would save a few bucks and buy a 390 over the 660 and a 395 wouldn't even be a consideration.

  • Thanks for a great video.

I'm about to buy my third chainsaw. I used to like jonsered, especially the smaller ones, they run great and have low vib.

But now i got bigger jobs and need a bigger saw... surprise :-)

I'm in doubt about which one to buy.

    Stihl ms660 or Husky xp395?

I would fit a 36" bar with rsc chain 3/8 pitch og .404?

I could really use some serious help before buying.

In Denmark the price is about 200$ for saw, bar and chain.

  • i dnt run the 3 series so i wouldnt kno my mistake

wonder if the 441 would be better over the 372

  • no it was a 372 it had 2 cover locks huskys bigger than the 372 have 4

  • Thanks for the kind words Woodman. Clearly, looking at your saw yard and equipment, you are somebody who bases his opinions from experience, not because "this is what I bought".

Now, If I could only get you to cut up my firewood for this year... I'll even let you use my 441! ;o)

  • No problem. I use the 441 with a 25" because it has a tad bit more torque. I run the 372 with a 20" out of the bucket when my 192 runs out of bar. The 372 weight wise is real close to most 60 cc saws but just simply eats anything you put it into. The wood yard is timber hauled away from the job and winds up being christmas cash and heats mine and my dads homes all winter. I have a 660 for the big stuff but honestly don't use it to often unless we run into a big cotton wood or maple, its fuel hog

  • Stihl & Husqvarna are both about equal so far as quality & power goes. Which one should you buy? The one that has the dealership closer to where you will be cutting.

  • Well said. Flip a coin! Stihl heads and husky fans, there is no need to debate here. I run both daily and although they both perform differently they are neck and neck from everything from price to filtration. Performance is similiar

  • stihl is boss

  • ALL YOU NEED IS A 357 FOR FIRE WOOD .trade the stihl for two 357 xp.

  • depends on wat ur cutting

  • use a manual timber crosscut saw, those will last a long time...depends on the one doing the cutting

  • 441 last longer thats for sure....i was using 372xp from 2004 to 2006 then the crankshaft broke... now i have ms441 and it worsk perfectly...ms441 have one problem...too soft antivib. sistem..

  • the 570 is a better choice for the Future i was just using the 372XP and the 570 today and i prefer the 570 for Fire Wood Cutting

  • i work in a Stihl shop and let me tell ya stihl just lasts in the long run the only saw i ever seen hold up as well as a Stihl over time is Mcculloch but the went out out of business 10 years ago and sold the the name of to an overseas company which is ashame cause it was one of the last american made saws witch only leaves Echo

  • hi five. im from england and here everyone uses stihl. echo are rearly herd of n husky are never used. i have stihl clearing saws, blowers, chainsaws, hedge cutters n so on and theve neva let me down.

  • mcculochs were made by mexicans i know a man that owned a hardware store i bought a mcculoch from him

  • You got that right! One of the guys I work with runs the cheapest gas he can find, never cleans his air filters or saws for that matter and they run until he gets new every 2 yrs. He tried husky and fried every one of them in less than a yr. I've never had an issue with husky but can tell ya stihl will take some pretty serious abuse, i've seen it first hand!! But I don't condone it thats for sure.

  • you should try the Husqvarna 570 now thats a saw !

  • Nice saw for the money just a bit of a heffer compared to the 372.

  • Comment removed

  • which one is quicker 372 or 441?

  • i used a 570 and a 372 the 372 is way better and lighter

  • so the nod goes to stihl? both top notch saws ahy, ever try a dolmar?

  • They're both very similar yet difference in performance. I use the 372 with a 20" due to the nimbleness working out of a bucket as to where the 441 has more torque running a 25". Tried dolmar out a couple years back and they couldn't handle the commercial beating. The air filtration on 5100's was pretty bad and they ceased. Heard the 7900 is a good saw though.

  • No it's a 372. I have a 660 and the 390 is pretty close to the size and weight. I have a couple 372's and the one in the video was definetely a wednesday saw, it's a real screamer bone stock. The other wont hang with the 441 but they are both fine saws in the 70 cc class.

  • I really like the way you're holding the top handle, nice firm grip. Does anyone need an organ or two? I ask because I think we have a donor here.LOL

Seriously Woodman, invest in some chainsaw chaps, steel toed boots, and from now on lock your thumb under the top handle, and grip the handle tightly.

  • This was a weekend cookout/comparisson. I do this all week long and many times I cut with one hand. Thanks for the info! I'll remember your expert advice next time i'm running my saws You ever try climbing with chaps genius? Put a video up in your wood cutting hockey suit so I know what it looks like.

  • You're going to get hurt with an attitude like that. You do know a saw can kick back even if the tip doesn't come into contact with anything.

  • I appreciate your concern and advice but I have been cutting since I was old enough to run a saw. When monday comes around I wear boots safety glasses and a hard hat. This was simply a comparrison for fun. I don't wear chaps because they are more dangerous than protective in a tree, they get hung up as well as restrict movement. I've watched many injuries occur because guys being in a hurry and disregarding safety. I've been luck so far and I stress so far. If you cut everyday than to each his

  • @woodman2055 show people how many body parts are missing from your safe saw practice!!

  • And 99% of the time kickback only occurs deep in the cut if you havent wedged your cut to give room for the chain to work. I have saws kick everyday but if the video was from behind me you would see that I stand left of the saw so if kickback occurs more than likey I dislocate my shoulder and not get split in half. What I do is dangerous so know that safety is always number one yet everyone has a comment. If you cut for a living you've got my ear, if you run a saw once in a while sorry but nope

  • I cant take any of this vid serious the guy wearing shorts and shoes, sorry try again

  • Yeah shorts and a shoes are dangerous unless you know what your doin. I cut more by noon than you probably cut in a year. I'm sure you look like a mentaly challeneged goalie with all your ppe? Iyou even know what PPE means? Go mess with someone who doesn't use a saw everyday!

  • Stck to your remote control airplanes and i'll stick to making a living with a saw. Any time you wanna come along for a day with me let me know.

  • Well then you should know with all that knowledge that a stock 441 will hang with if not cut faster than saws of similar if not more displacement and they respond very well to porting and modififcations. Way better than anticipated The 372 it was running against was one of the best 372's i've ever owned and it was officaly faster and was not quite broke in. If you can build saws my hat goes off to ya but I can tell ya my friend the 441 in not a slow saw.

  • Nice vid

Thanks for posting. We need more 441 vids.

  • no you don't 441 are that slowest saw made

  • You sir, don't know what you're talking about.....

  • No he doesn't! He's 16 yrs old and prbly doesn't own a saw, dont waste your time!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow that pretty impressive considering your profile shows you to be 16 yrs old.
