The New Mexico State Fair expo brought in a family that rescues big cats. They had some of the big cats that were retired show cats. They put on a little show each day. Nothing demanded of them, just some stuff they enjoyed doing in the big enclosure. Educational talks were given, describing what they were doing. The cats seemed to enjoy just wandering around and playing while staring at the people. Little kids... Yummy. Earned enough to keep them well cared for and fed. They eat a lot.

I'm so obsessed with Cats!! I just discovered these videos. I absolutely LOVE them!! I'm so happy the cats have a place to be free from harm and neglect. Yes I would love to have a big kitty but it's not fair for them. They're wild animals and MUST be treated as such. It's just great these babies get to experience so much variety everyday. I catch stray cats to find a home for them or bring them to the vet and back to their place and some of them are really dangerous. I can't imagine how dangerous are this "cats", if they are scared or angry or hungry. In 1999 tigers killed 2 tourists in a Spanish safari park because they got off their car and approached the tigers. Google: vergel+1999+alemanes (or Germans)
I've got a silly question for you, since I'm curious. Is there any breed of big cat that's more playful than the other ones? If so, which ones are the more playful breeds? Or is it more dependent on individual personalities?
@jeaymi Yeah, it always depends on the individual cat, but I'd say leopards are the most "fun" to watch, they're so smart and are always looking at you and working you out!
I had two cougars...one lived 22 years and the other for 16. Play is a function of age more than cat type....everything young plays. Like people, there are different personalities also. Also, the cats tend to play more with certain people than others...no different than people. Unlike with dogs, any type of play has to be the cat's idea to begin with.
I love BCR because it's animals are beautiful. Do you keep them locked all day or they have a big "garden like" space to run around and what do you feed them?
@RattyMouseRaccoon We never lock our cats up, they have access to their whole enclosure 24 hours a day, 7 days a weeks so they can run around and go crazy at midnight if they wish :)

hey people I do not know if you've heard of it, but there are zoo's all over the world, which sell big cats to Africa. you know what happens to them there? they are in a small piece of land released, so that amateur hunters can shoot them and keep them as souvenirs! the people who buy the big cats of the zoo's, earn lots of money with that. it's just sick .-.- but well, anyway: you know how much I love your videos. keep it up!
i was really offended by the generalization that ocelots are just grumpy. sure, we've all met some ocelots that were grumpy, but i've also met some ocelots that were perhaps the nicest cats i know. One ocelot even made me homemade bread and strawberry preserve. then he slept with my wife.

i was really offended by the generalization that ocelots are just grumpy. sure, we've all met some ocelots that were grumpy, but i've also met some ocelots that were perhaps the nicest cats i know. One ocelot even made me homemade bread and strawberry preserve. then he slept with my wife.
