  • I think there existed a huge land mass (Google Earth), which connected all of Indonesia, the Philipines, Australia, China, Micronesia, Melanesia and the Indochina. But in the middle of geographic history, about 70% of that landmass has submerged due to the polar caps melting and many ancient Austronesians fled to Australia, Indonesia and China. That's why modern East Asians, Austronesians and the Australian Aborigins share certain haplotype genes but the most of the Siberians don't.

  • @1081617 agreed with you

  • Hey where did the Chinese go? The southern region of China called Hainan is Austronesian too...along with Cambodia and many other Asian countries,

  • @MrUsoRasta I read that southern china speak tai-kadai & they have close affinities with austronesians & sino-tibetan. Tai-Kadai is also spoken to some parts of southeast asia specially in Thailand & Laos so basically this people are inside the mainland southeast asia with the Austro-Asiatic speaking people. The main or the origin of austronesian speaking people specially the malayo-polynesian is in maritime or island southeast asia and oceana that's why Malayo-Polynesian.

  • @MrUsoRasta But most of the Austronesian in the mainland southeast asia are near the shore & which tribe in Southern China that connect to Austronesian? Who are those southern chinese? because if we say chinese which is i think majority of the population is han chinese, some of them are tai-kadai,sino-tibetan, and austro-asiatic, I read the Gaoshan in Southern China is part of Austronesian family.

  • There's actually 3 kind of language family spoken in South East Asia : Tai-Kadai, Austro-Asiatic and the Austronesian. Most of the Austronesian speaking people are South East Asia located in Maritime South East Asia and those Austronesian speaking in Mainland South East Asia usually located near the shore.

  • I thought Astronesians have dark skin, but I noticed some of them have fair or lighter skin compare to others. Pardon my ignorance. Even the facial features differs from each other. Great video.

  • I thought Astronesians have dark skin, but I noticed some of them have fair or lighter skin compare to others. Pardon my ignorance. Even the facial features differs from each other. I studied life drawing and illustration in college and we try to concentrate on facial features. Great video.

  • Is tagalog (filipino) also austronesian ?

  • @felixthefox100 a lot of Philippine dialect belongs to malayo-polynesian which is a subgroup of Austronesian. We all shared the same language family. Pangasinense, Cebuano, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Tagalog, etc. most of the dialects belong to this language family.

  • Men of Austronesian, East Asian, Amerindian, and Inuit origin have no coarse body hair on their chest, back, or butt. They find it hard to grow real mustaches or beards. Women have only very soft body hair as compared to Europeans, Middle Easterns, and South Asians. In general of light to dark brown skin, brown eyes, and black hair. This is probably because they picked up less Neanderthal genes as compared to Europeans as Homo Sapiens came out of Africa 70,000 years ago.

  • @RoGumbI but i'm not really agree with you..most of men from pacific in polynesian islands triangle appeared to have beard, only the Austronesian people in southeast asia almost doesn't have beard because influence from east asia genes..

  • Using the 80-20 rule, Filipinos are basically of 80% Austronesian stock and 20% other (Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Arab, Latin European, and even Amerindian due to mixed Spanish from the Americas). The Austronesian stock came originally probably from South Central Asia approx 10,000 years ago. Compare this to Amerindians who also came from somewhere in North Central Asia approx 15,000 years ago. The original Austronesian and Amerindian stocks are now gone from mainland Asia.

  • @RoGumbI yes, i really agree with your opinion..austronesian and amerindian came from central asia..amerindian or native american come from north of central asia, while the austronesian come from south of central asia..they migrated far until reach america continent and to the north and south pacific islands..

  • @RoGumbI 1.5% of Philippines population is pure Chinese, but 20% of Filipinos have Chinese blood. The other races are very small amounts and are not part of the rank and file Filipino.

  • @TrueAltaic : most Indonesians do not have a mix of china but their face resembles china. as was the case in the Sundanese, ethnic tribe in Sumatra, borneo (dayak), some tribes in sulawesi. but we also have some european blend.Indonesia is a country that has a race and culture are very diverse, which makes Indonesia a little differently.

  • @TrueAltaic ; the majority of the Indonesian people's skin is light brown/brown / dark makes them look very beautiful and attractive.

    pinay,indons and malon = Austronias .

  • I think South Central Asia are more on Austro-Asiatic although they said that the Austro-Asiatic have also connection with the Austronesian but it belongs to 2 different family. It's like these 2 group of language are brothers. Most of Austronesians are in South East Asia.

  • Nice Video I see all you share the same Asian look all you look the same

  • I see people's from Polynesia and some Micronesia faces and their body's physical resemblance to latin American rather than the people of southeast asia. We are all one family with the same language, but different ancestry. Austronesian people are an ethnic group native who came first in Indonesia, but the people of Indonesia that now they are descendants from mainland asia (daic) based on their father's descent.

  • @kartikasweet you got your answer.. ! polynesian today, look more native american (not latin) and they speak austronesian..this happened cause they area in pacific not far from america continent..and southeast asian look more mongols because they area near asian mainland and they also speak in austronesian language..both polynesian and southeast asian has same ancestor, that's why they speak in the same language..

  • @lagodaxnian : i see them exceedingly beautiful , face the polynesian and some micronesia similar white people with the little brown they are cauccasian of asia.

for me they are a mixture of asian and white = polynesian + some micronesia ._.

  • @kartikasweet that's polynesian today..look more caucasian..beside,they also believe if they ancestor is one of the 12 lost israeli tribes..so they may be already has caucasian features that come from middle east..you must be watch other video titled "Austronesian Migratory Dispersal"..that's really interesting..and i think i'm agree with that analyze..

  • @kartikasweet plus the polynesian has long history of colonialism..even some of area in polynesia or south pacific still under colonial rules..exp : French Polynesia (Tahiti) colonized by French, Hawaii colonized by USA, American Samoa colonized by USA, Wallis and Futuna colonized by French, Rapa Nui become part of Chile (country in south america) territory, new zealand is independent country but not 100% can rules their country, still in British rules..that's why many today they more like white

  • its good to see new blood. new people. you do not see many races in local towns in USA so when you see a diff race for the first time you think wrong ideas who they might be.

  • pantes saya mirip orang rapa nui, kumisnya doang tapi .. wkakakakak ..

  • MELAYU KE

  • HEY WERES THE MOST BEAUTIFULL PEOPLE OF THEM ALL THE SEXY FULL BLOOD ABBO'S OF AUSTRALIA WERE ARE THEY!!!????

  • why many of native americans look like caucasians?

  • No wonder my face is handsome like The Rock... I'm austronesian people!!!

  • i thought all the rapa nui people were all gone?

  • @5103636936 there are no full blooded rapa nui people left. They are all mixed.

  • @atnmsfts yes..in this video, all rapa nui looks mixed..but in easter island, they population with pure rapa nui blood is about 60% from population..so still majority on that island..about 39% are mestizo (Rapa Nui mixed spanish, especially spaniard descent from chile mainland in south america),and about 1% is amerindian (American-indian, most are mapuche from chile mainland and amerindian from Peru), Rapa Nui population in 2011 is about 5,034

  • @lagodaxnian glad that they still preserved their culture and their language which is austronesian. they are racially mixed already same also those in southeast asia which is closer to the east asia & others due to colonization and intermarried & those micronesian, polynesian, melanesian or austronesian of oceana due too.

  • Greetings from your brothers, the Philippines!

  • Wat a crock full of shit don't include south pacific islander polynesian into ur falsified info we are our own people n proud of it! How insulting don't discriminate us ever again

  • I was just wondering if there were Austronesian languages that existed in precolonial America. Since most of the native tongues there are now extinct and have been replaced with Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English there's no way to determined. But if Polynesians were able to trade with the natives of America, how is it not possible for them to live in that big continent ? My guess is that there were Austronesians in precolonial America.

  • nice video.never heard of austronesian before though.

  • samoa looks bad at the beginning then better at the end. haha

  • damn! rapa nuis are hot!

  • YES WE ARE AUSTRONESIAN PEOPLE.. PROUD TO BE ONE...THANK YOU

THIS VIDEO SUCH AN EYE OPENER..

  • some australoids people look like latin white people...

  • in the 1500's ferdinand magellan a spanish explorer sailed around the world

that is why people look like hispanics especially here in the south pacific and etc...

  • I luv how Filipino-Americans use Austronesian as an excuse to b called "Pacific Islander". associating themselves with Samoans, Tongans, Hawaiians.....etc.

u dont see Russians, Ukrainians, Serbs or Croats associating w each other becayse of "Church Slavonic"

  • @deeeEeEEEeEee33eem LOL! Why would they make a cultural and genetically proven fact as an excuse? lol! Base on your profile I'm going to guess your Vietnamese-American. If you refuse to accept or associate yourself with your next of keen, the Chinese, then do not spread have to those people who are wanting to trace and their ancient roots! I suggest you read more about the Austronesian people and how LARGE and wide spread they are on this WORLD even before colonizations before spreading hate.

  • @deeeEeEEEeEee33eem LOL! Why would they make a cultural and genetically proven fact as an excuse? lol! Base on your profile I'm going to guess your Vietnamese-American. • @deeeEeEEEeEee33eem fuck you and those Fil-Ams! Filipinos are Austronesians just like the real malaysians and indonesians!!! those damn Samoans tongans hawaiians aka the NEGROS of the pacific all came from ASIA. Filipino are Asian but with a dominant hispanic culture. and btw who the fuck wants to be Pacific islander? they are just bunch of half naked negros in the pacific.

  • check my new video! chinese and melanesians are from the same genetic family. scientific proof provided!

  • 2:32 so hot...

  • how come i didn't see Tonga in this? The only island group not to be colonized and to this day still retain it's monarchy.

  • Austronesian is term of Linguistic , There is Austronesian race , so Austronesian are the peoples who speak one of Austronesia Family Language.

the analogy is Indian,Iranian,Anglo saxonic,Tetonic, germanic,Franco are speking Indo European family language but it doesnt mean any Indo European Race

  • you cant really comapare pacific islanders to southeast asians why cuz pacific islanders came from all over the world america melanesia asia and euroupe all these mix is what made pacific islanders thats why our features look like mexican asian europeans and black the language tho is austronesian but the people are very differend from asian people

  • Indonesians Are Daic are not austronesians

  • @kartikasweet you should look it on MR.Google! indonesia are austronesians, in fact the most autronesian people's indonesian! so does filipino, malaysian, brunei, maori, malagasy, and native hawaiian :)

  • @kartikasweet you should look it on MR.Google! indonesia are austronesians, in fact the most autronesian people's indonesian! so does filipino, malaysian, brunei, maori, malagasy, and native hawaiian :)

  • @kartikasweet you should look it on MR.Google! indonesia are austronesians, in fact the most autronesian people's indonesian! so does filipino, malaysian, brunei, maori, malagasy, and native hawaiian. DAIC people are from southern china and northeast india :)

  • there is a debate that the Olmecs are the polynesians - and that movie Apocolypto. that was actually polynesians and the Mayans are the Mexicans, that is why lots of islanders n mexicans have similar features. not all Native American Indians look alike - some actually look poly, n others look like asians. u might not know in the 1800 - 1900's Pacific Islanders went intoo Slavery in Australia, Fiji n South America - thats why i want to know, who r we according 2 the bible - Deut 28 - captivity

  • @vaea46 what about eskimo's they kind of look asian.

  • @vaea46 After 64 years they finally say that Polynesians are genetically related to the Indians in "South America". Polynesians and the South America theory is somewhat finally accepted. I already knew Polynesians were related to the Mayans as you can see the familiarity with our cultures and ancient artifacts.

  • what i wanna know is.. WHO ARE WE according to the Bible - Noah had 3 sons - Shem, Japheth and Ham,, who are we as a people.. are we part of the 12 Tribes of israel who are in Captivity. are we from the tribe of Naphtali who's hind is Let Lose and dwells in the South & West and has been blessed with Beauty and favor of the Most High. Please if anyone knows. let me know.. i know 4 a fact Pacific Isanders were in South America b4 the 1500's according to the Chicken bones and certain objects.

  • @gameplayerucool2 you dont know nothing then .... even natives madagascar island in africa (merina people) are your brother ....our ancestor sail from taiwan (according bellwod) to hawaii and even further to madagascar , our genectic are close related ... our language comes from one single mother language ,you say tangata whenua ,kanaka honua , anak benua (malay) ... our counting is similliar ex 5 = lima , mata =eyes .go llok up & google it

  • lol we have the weirdest costumes in the world

  • 3:25 holy shit.

  • u know what if thats how taiwan aborigine looks like they i do see pacific islander features favoring alot of the aborigine taiwanese people. they are beautiful..b/c i am samoan n i get philipino or half asian alot. or hispanic w/asian

  • salam sejahtera saudara nusantaraku , saya melayu utara malaysia . orang melayu indonesia tahu tak bercakap dalam loghat melayu malaysia ? terutama bahagian utara malaysia , di malaysia kami faham bahasa indonesia , tetapi tak tahu pula indonesia boleh faham atau tidak bahasa kami ?

  • Aw gross! I freaking HATE the taste of Noni Juice. It's absolutely vile!

  • @LaChicaLesbianaxxx lol @ chinitos..ur rite..about Pacific islanders lookin more less asianish..alot of p.i's can pass to be hispanic n black n asian lol or white n indian idk lol but i think so hehhe

  • POLYNESIANS ARE BEAUTIFUL..i believe we r austronesians..alot of samoans dont believe dat. but, i do! austronesians are beautiful people..

  • I am proud to become an Astronesian! I am from Indonesia! So glad to meet you all brothers and sisters!

  • Such an Amazing video!..since then i knew Filipinos arent really Asian..i knew we are something different..i did a research before and i found out that our race came from the race so called Austronesian...No Wonder why i some Filipinos looks like Pacific Islander ( some people thought Filipinos arent asian, instead PI or american territory.. ..woot..i just love to see all these connections <3

  • @gameplayerucool2 i agree with u, however we do have similiar appearances to malays n indonesians, i could swear they look polynesian if i didnt know any better

  • kia ora, im maori

  • yo, can you tell me whats the title of the song?

  • PROUD TO BE AUSTONESIAN! GREETINGS FROM THE PHILIPPINES.

  • @LaChicaLesbianaxxx Ovbiously there is a physical difference. For example, the influence of the Portuguese in Hawai'i many years ago have change the appearance of the Hawaiians. When you say Taiwan, there are two groups of people, the chinese and the aborigines, the aborigines are the ones relevant to this video. Again, its the language similarities around all the islands suggesting that they all came from one place.

  • @LaChicaLesbianaxxx Its the language thats important here, not the race. For example, In Taiwan, there are people from mainland China, and then there are the Aborigines. The aborigines in Taiwan along with all the other mentioned groups in the video share the common Austronesian language. Although they vary greatly from island to island, the very basic roots all come from one originating place.

  • @LaChicaLesbianaxxx Obviously over thousands of years there will be a physcal difference. For example in Hawai'i, the portugese influence has changed the appearance of Hawaiians. Again, what this video is suggesting is the language. Its the language thats important here, not the race.

  • @gameplayerucool2 Its the language thats important here, not the race. For example, In Taiwan, there are people from mainland China, and then there are the Aborigines. • @gameplayerucool2 No bro. Indos and malays are NOT asians. The word asian is a terminology given by the white man to distinguish us geographically! If you compare native indos to chinese, bro there is nothing similar about em! Indonesia is an archipelago, and their tradition and clothing and appearances are similar to that of other polynesians and micronesians. Go to the indonesia and the malay countries you will see what i mean. What da hell is ASIAN anyway.

  • Nusantara Union!

  • hope you do a remake... since they are many request to put other ethnicity (like khadazan, moluccan, aztect, etc) even me want to complaint hehe; Please include BANJARIANs how dare u malay forget about Banjar but u put here the bugis, java & minang ... ya and one more tribe, the Phatani people (they are mostly Austronesian but live under Siamese rule)

  • Isn't Mindanao a city in the Philippines???

  • Keep RAPA NUI FREE.

  • @gameplayerucool2 yeah we did come from Taiwan but don't you think south americans mixed with polynesians at one point cause some samoans (like myself) look kinda mexican due to having the brown eyes, darkish skin tone and black hair hehe except islanders are usually taller i think.... if you compare the appearance of a micronesian to a south-east asian then there isn't much difference because they're so relatively distant to each other

  • @DragonTrixter Of course, probably many years ago, Samoans did have some contact with South Americans. However, I think what this video is trying to show is the language similarities. For example, Im half seediq from Taiwan, I know that the seediq language, 5 is lima, also in Samoan. And 7 is pitu, and in Samoan Fitu. So the root of the language is similar in a sense suggesting that some time ago these pacific islanders all come from one originating place.

  • @gameplayerucool2

    wikipedia or google austronesian

  • I'am happy to know that the bloodlines of our races are speard nearly half over the world. When we combining the population of every countries we would be among the biggest races and for sure there is a lot of economics and business opputuinities. No wonder the legendary Admiral of Melakan Sultanate Laksamana Hang Tuah has mentioned in his famaous speach "Takkan Melayu Hilang Didunia". Maybe he already knew that some 600 years ago that this race will not lost frm world.

  • lagodaxnian....Hello my long distant cousin...im malay from malaysia...

  • All the people (austronesian) in this video look MEXICAN.

  • @YuDumPhuc

There was a study that Mayans and Aztecs came originally from Asia.

  • @YuDumPhuck not even these videos r all mixed with american dont u forget there are all under america for now bcoz they have agrreement for 20 years america will support them that why they kind fat litlle bit bigger than those people who dont eat faster..

  • Don't forget Mayans/Incas/Aztec/Hopis and other Native Indians of North America. They are also part of the Lemurian/MU Race.

HELLO MY LONG LOST COUSIN. XD

  • @xhemai yes the features but not the size eh..ancient warfare defined us.

  • FILIPINO!!.. we are austronesian! revised genetic scicentif studies of the PRESENT concluded that malay isnt the proper term for filipinos, WE ARE AUSTRONESIAN!

  • I'm pure i think and yes there's not much pure Austronesian in Philippines.

But we do exist LOL.We are extremely good looking dark brown and big boned. What consitutes an Austronesian? Actually my dad has Chinese/spanish in his side. But I took to my mother side who are definitely Austronesian.

  • U forgot to put in the Kadazandusuns from Malaysia~

  • I agree, most of the islanders are obviously mixed, but their polynesian features are still prevalent

  • alll of these are mix! none are pure austrnosian

  • @16and30 Pure austronesian? There's such a thing? Then who do you think are the piure austornesian? And these are mixed? With whom? Would you mind telling me?

  • y maori song?? you maori??

  • @modsJUTSU this is Rapa Nui Song (sing by matato'a),the native people in Easter Island.and yes,Rapa Nui people very closely related with the Maoris in Aotearoa (New Zealand).they have many similarities in terms of language, cultural and beliefs.both rapa nui and Maori are polynesians.Rapa Nui people is Maohi and Maori is Maori.

    No,I'm Malay.The Indonesian Malay..thank you..

  • @lagodaxnian Im malay java:D. Hello distance cousin:)

  • @modsJUTSU hello..nice to know you :)

  • @lagodaxnian i'm also Malay...the Malaysian Malays... Hello long lost cousins... :D

    1. Perjanjian New York tanggal 15 Agustus 1962.

    2. Perjanjian Roma tanggal 30 September 1962

  • @lagodaxnian :My friend ..majority of people in indonesians are of daic descent , study 2010 Austronesian found in indonesia only <20% , and papua melanesia 8% found in papua , maluku.

Daic indonesia come from northem china/ thai mainlain..Majority DNA / genetik indonesia more close to viet, Tai, lao, northem china than to filipina/ pacifil peoples.

indonesian related to austronesian espessialy to linguistk/ bahasa.

  • @lagodaxnian kita sama2 malay janganlah bergaduh.

  • awesome to know that we share the same great ancestor .. Peace

  • Comment removed

  • @naivemaria yes maria... Australian natives also Austro people (south people),but they often called as Austroloid not Austronesian, but we all southern people so it does not matter that the australian natives as part of our close relative..

  • @lagodaxnian Actually the so called Australoid peoples aren't connected whatsoever with the austronesian peoples... T

hey arrived and populated South-east asia and Oceania far eralier than the austronesians... some say at least 40 000 years ago... Those would be The different Negritos people, the Papuans, the melanesians and the australian aborigenes.

The Austronesian only started expanding from Taiwan into south-east asia about 7000 years ago... Then they expanded into the pacific islands

  • How about Naga people in northeast India?

It seems they're related to the tribes that dominate today's southeast Asia.

  • @fortunamia Naga people territory called Nagaland, and part of the State of Assam in Northeast India, their culture is very close to the Burmese culture in Southeast Asia (Indochina) and some tribes of Indochina living in the North Eastern region of India, their tribe considered Austro-Asiatic family not Austronesian, I recommend that more clearly on Nagaland, try typing " Nagaland-Wikipedia ", there you can get information about Nagaland people and their culture in India.

  • @NirinaGasikara Andrew Sharp for instance tried to discredit polynesians as great voyagers. But the truth is Austronesians have been navigating the world long before any European knew how to sail. Stephen Oppenheimer believe the cradle of civilization is southeast Asia. The flooding of Sundaland diperse the people & with it their knowledge. Some say the Sumerians & ancient Egyptians might have come from S.E. Asia, just like the Malagasy. Ra the sun god of Egypt is the same in Polynesia.

  • I like the music. And I'm Tongan and recently lived in Tonga and Tonga is not on this list............come on guys. Us Tongans are good looking too! hahaha

  • @51flapjacks if so please watch this video :

    watch?v=DbGTYx014ww&feature=related

there is a tonga and also the most beautiful woman in the Pacific, who else if not Miss tonga ?

  • @NirinaGasikara, thank you for sharing a few Malagasy words. It's so amazing how our language have similarities, and to think Madagascar, Island Southeast Asia, and Oceania are oceans apart. It really proves that our ancestors were great seaferers.

  • @lagodaxnian thank you brother for bringing this up south east asian or austronesian are under indentity crisis. First we are austronesian and asian but differ from east asian. I hate austronesian half denying their roots. I want the world to know our indentity asian as austronesian. We must preserve our culture even as we modernize one love from pilipino austronesian.

  • @loxinorz you're welcome loxinorz..my initial purpose of making this video is to foster a sense of pride back to the Austronesian culture among the people of southeast asia. do not let the culture and the origins of your ancestors became laughingstock partially by the most racist people on youtube. they do not know what is Austronesian, and a bad picture from them, that the Austronesian people even lower than animals. who else is proud of Austronesian culture, if not our people themselves ?

  • @NirinaGasikara i'm absolutely agree with you nirina !! thanks..your so true !! we don't have anything similar with chinese..in all side !!! language, skin color and physics as a whole.. :)

  • @lagodaxnian but too bad.. if someone starts talking about the people of Asia, so there is in their heads are people who have Chinese as physically, and I think you also know that .. and this makes me conclude this is the reason why some Filipinos and Indonesians prefer called as the "Islanders" (though sometimes without mentioning the Pacific), the image of Asians as it was so selfish !

  • @lagodaxnian but lately I really feel disappointed, just because of cultural invasion from the east (C-Pop,K-Pop,J-Pop and so on) to southeast asia, some people in Southeast Asia began to portray themselves as the people in east asia, they began to describe themselves as "other people", they crying if they ancestor has chinese dna from hongkong,yunan,etc..it's really2 ridiculous !! they seem not have pride in their origins.. :(

  • I do not mind if someone is liked and admired the other cultures, because it was normal, but they should not forget their origins are in fact different with them. I also have a sister and love the culture of east asia, but I always told her not to forget our origins and that we also have the great culture like them, it's just that our ancestors did not use silk dress like them. our ancestors looked very one with nature, without clothes.and only cover the parts of the body is only important, etc.

  • I was watching a video of Maori's doing the Haka, and they shouted "ka mate" it almost sounded like "ka-matay" in my language means "go die". But when I did a research, it actually means "I die", closed enough. Another name for Rapa Nui or Easter island is Mata-ki- te- Rangi, means "Eyes looking to the Sky" In my language it's "Mata nagtan-aw sa Langit",( visayan), "Mata nakatingin sa Langit" ( tagalog) here we can see the similarities, although not entirely the same.

  • @subangdako thanks..i think also have similarity with Indonesian language...

    Maori = ka mate = I Die

Tagalog = Ka Matay = Go Die

    Indonesian/Malay = Kau Mati = You Die

Mata ki-te-rangi = Rapa Nui = Eyes looking to the sky

Mata nagtan-aw sa langit = Visayan

Mata nakatingin sa langit = Tagalog

Mata lihat ke langit = Indonesian/malay..

    no doubt..they have similarities..

  • @lagodaxnian you could also say aku mati: I die. Same thing with ka mate.

  • @mataram123 ok..thanks for the input :

"Ka Mate" (Maori) = I Die (all blacks Haka)

"aku Mati" = I die, Indonesian language

  • ka mate in Iban (Dayak) of Malaysia mean 'want to die'

  • Awww..Austronesians are so beautiful! Yay Filipinos! ehehhe

  • lagodaxnian - Since I'm not a religious person I'm usually open to the idea of scientific study of our origins. An asian friend of mine once told me though that Samoans were directly descended from the people of Cambodia.

  • @88ChimDee if your friend told that samoans are descended of Cambodian,i think the cambodian that your friend mentioned is Cham people.i am also have cham ancestor although i am an Indonesian.but not came from Cambodia,my ancestor came from southern viet nam.and in the past all southern viet nam area is former cham area.Cham is Austronesian, and has similarity in language with malay and Javanese.

  • @lagodaxnian - I'm not too familiar with Cambodian history but another friend of mine who is Cambodian told me that the people of Cambodia were likely descendants of Indians. He wasn't sure if it was true but it explained why, though Cambodians were technically classified as 'Asian', their skin colour was slightly darker than the typical pale skin of an Asian who was (say) from Japan.

  • @88ChimDee if you mean here that the people of Cambodia who have Indian ancestry, so I can ensure that they are the Mon-Khmer. but Mon Khmer, they are not Austronesian they are Austro-Asiatic people which their languages and cultures very different from Austronesian people, then they are not Samoan ancestors.samoans are Austronesian and your language has a lot similarity with Indonesian and Malaysian language.Indonesian and malaysian in the past also get a lot of influence from India,

  • especially in the corporate culture and the way they dress (hinduism style),but of course I do not mean to say that the people of Indonesia or Malaysia as Samoan ancestor, they may have common ancestors who came from Taiwan during the migration process (may be came from the same tribe).and I think the Austronesia language that closest to the language of Samoa is the Javanese (Java Island in Indonesia) language.

  • example learning to count (between samoan and javanese) : 1 = Tasi (Samoan), Siji (Javanese) 2 = Lua (samoan), Loro (Javanese) 3 = Tolu (Samoan), Telu (Javanese) 4 = Fa (Samoan), Fapat (Javanese) 5 = Lima (Samoan), Lima (Javanese) and all Austronesian language... 6 = Ono (Samoan), Enem (Javanese) 7 = Fitu (Samoan), Pitu (Javanese) 8 = Valu (Samoan), Walu (Javanese) 9 = Iva (Samoan), Sanga (Javanese) 10 = Sefulu (Samoan), Sepuluh (Javanese), only 2 numbers that do not have similarity,1 and 9..
  • @lagodaxnian wow! im in awe im samoan n i learned about austronesians thru youtube. i cant believe there's another culture ive nevered heard b4 has many similiarities to da samoan language. how awesome!. im a look up javanese culture.

  • @lagodaxnian

not so sure about it..since some of the founder of Cambodia was Austronesian/Malayic...early ruler of Khmer has relation with the Cham...and the king who ordered the built of Angkor Wat, Suryavarman was Malay of Trambalinga or Ligor in modern Thai today.....

  • @lagodaxnian - Someone once told me that the true Hawaiian blood had died out long ago and now the people of Hawaii look more asian than pacific islanders. So it basically comes down to pride for some really. While an aunt of mine generally dismisses anything scientific-related. Like most religious-addled people she considers it a sin to believe that we could have possibly been descended from anyone other than God himself.

  • you know Chimdee..? I think you are right .. because when making this video, I tried very hard to get the original features from Hawaii, but it is very difficult, because few people here even laugh and say that people here are not 100% native Hawaiian or even not 100% hawaiian..!

  • Some time ago I ever watch videos about the distinctive features of Hawaii look more like the Melanesian big body, dark, and has curly hair. I do not know it's true or not, and I forgot the title of the video, but I saw it on youtube.. the people of Hawaii are now more like Japanese, Chinese and the Filipinos due to the large number of Asian immigrants on the island, forcing the inhabitants to intermarriage with Asian people.

  • and I think something similar happened with chamorru people in Guam , where many people from Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, China and Korea lives there..Chamorru now looks more asian.. :(
