Great review Chung. I'm looking to get this phone this week. Moving from the Iphone (which I still love but not AT&T.... too many dropped calls). I have heard many good reviews regarding the Imagio.
I usually just write. We'll see about more videos for the future... Are you in the East Bay in the Bay Area? I am assuming so with the 510 in the screenname.
Ah I see... and no I'm not from CA at all actually. ^^;
Oh, and one suggestion is just to try to speak more candidly in your tours and reviews (so that what your saying flows and seems more natural) I think that would make your videos even better. :D
You cannot purchase an Imagio unlocked for AT&T. I hear that the HTC HD2, which is similar but it has a faster processor and no TV, will hit the US in Q1 2010. That may work with AT&T 3G. You can get the HTC Imagio and get it SIM-unlocked thru a third party and use it on AT&T, but doing so will only give you EDGE speeds and you won't be able to get on AT&T for HSPA/3G/UMTS.
Ah sorry. Mis-read that. I meant the Imagio. The HD2 is a toss up at this time. I know there is a GSM/HSPA version out there. No clue as to whether HTC will port the HD2 to CDMA/EVDO for VZW.
That depends on what your needs, budgets are. If you NEED a smartphone today, the Imagio/TP2 are great devices. You can definitely wait for the HD2, but then you're not sure if it will come to VZW, if it will be subsidized, and the exact date it will be released, etc. making the wait excruciating. The TP2 also has TV Out if that's important to you. For my purposes, the resistive screen on the Imagio is pretty decent, but the HD2 is capacitive from what I hear.
i want a good smartphone with a good UI and responsive touch screen.
i think in a month, im sure they'll post whether this phone will be out for verizon or not...
if it is, then ill wait till january.. if not then i'll most probably get the TP2.
the HD2 does have a capacitive touch screen, and a 5 megapixel camera, with improved touch flo. those are a the main features that attract me to that phone..
great review ;) Wish this was coming to sprint!! I love the hero and android but i really want a big screen all touch device without the bulk of the tp2
Well with the HD2 (also Windows Mobile and large touchscreen), the choice will only get harder :) I think the HD2 will come to the US on GSM, so that may not be an option for you.
I read that the HTC Imagio have problems with the buttons on the bottom, is it true?

Nice tour! I didn't realize you were with PocketNow until now but I can't wait for more videos from you. :)
Also, nice job in seeing that the tilts are the same on the Imagio and TP2! It's a good to know, but odd fact. haha

If we buy HD2 from Europe or Ebay
how to find out if it will work in USA on 3G ?
rather than wait till 2010 :(
ilordvader 2 years ago
I think AT&T in the US supports the 850 MHz and the 1900 MHz bands for 3G. If the 3G band runs on those frequencies, you should be okay.

do you think the hd2 will come out for verizon??

It's available through Verizon Wireless' online store at this time and retail store availability will hit later in the month.

do you think the HD2 would be worth waiting for, or should i just purchase the touch pro 2.
the reason why i like the HD2 is because its touch flo is much more improved...

well, the only reason for the Tp2's bulk is because of its awsome keyboard...
if u want a keyboard that insane, your gonna have to sacrifice for the large size
