I love how a month later I get challenged on a point I about something so silly. He was telling me to go read more and inform myself in a post full of grammar errors - after pointing out these faults, he continued to believe that the product he accused me of over-consuming was called Cool-aid.. evidently, the guy telling ME to read more will not even check his own knowledge with a quick google search.
As for condemning Glen Beck for his past faults... yes he was an alcoholic... no all past alcoholics do not deserve to live unhappily... but this guy is an abomination. He spews propaganda and lies 24/7 unchecked and under-educated... and worst of all people take him seriously. He is mentally unfit to be on the air.
He was a past alcoholic - that's a fact. Would you want your surgeon to be a past alcoholic? No. President? Hope not. Should past-alocoholics be allowed to present their opinions on TV? Sure. In front of huge audiences? Fine. But Glen is NOT presenting his own opinions. He is presenting Fox News propaganda that lands on his desk every morning. Opinions are supposed to arise from facts - Fox news takes their opinions and makes up facts (or molds them) to conform.
7wrmv: Would you please specify where Glenn Beck has spread lies? What would qualify him to be able to spread the propaganda that he spews? How are you qualified to say that Glenn Beck is mentally unfit to be on the air?
@psujim85 Bollocks. Here in the UK the standard of care is just fine. Only medicines that cost huge amounts per course for a very small benefit are rationed. Have you ever bee treated on the NHS, or are you just taking the word of your favourite wingnuts?
@psujim85 That is rubbish. NHS Trusts are required to provide universal and unlimited cover. If they can't, they refer them to another trust that can. For instance, the NHS recently funded foreign treatment for a young boy abroad for a treatment that had not yet arrived in the UK.
Furthermore, there is nothing to stop a British person from taking out private health insurance. Few do, obviously, but there is no rationing, no lottery - it's all a right wing myth. I speak from experience.
There are always problems with every healthcare system - public, private, or a fusion or both as in many European countries. It is true ignorace to imply that private medical care is automatically better.
BS.... Gov health care is the only way to go... we cant trust the private insurance companies to EVER follow the rules.... they will always look for ways to save money by denying care... I"ve seen government run health care first hand in England and Canada and they love the system over there.... THEY FEAR our system .....
We can't trust the private sector to follow the rules - true. But the private sector can go out of business by us NOT paying them. The private sector only survives as a bad business because of corporate collusion (Enron? Halliburton?)
But morons like you forget that 5000 years of human history illustrate that government is ALWAYS the purveyor of greatest harm. Enron caused unemployment, communism is responsible for the democide of 138million people in 90 years.
Your the idiot .... we have examples of successful UNIVERSAL health care ALL AROUND you dumb ass but you just ignore it... England where my father was born has UNIVERSAL health care and has had it since after world war 2 .... this has nothing to do with going COMMUNIST.... we already have socialist programs you numskull .... social security ring a bell.... medicare ring a bell ... DID THAT MAKE US A COMMUNIST NATION ... moron
Successful Universal HC all around? Where? The entire nation of Canada has less MRI scanners than the city of Philadelphia. Canada's HC sucks. Australia's Socialized HC is even worse. Britain's Socialized HC and leftist politics have destroyed their country. But you don't know anything about that.

LOL... PLEASE..... I've been to Canada and that all BS .... your listening to the same bull crap from the right side that has lost all credibility .... just like WERE PULLING THE PLUG ON GRANDMA!! LOL.... that's a straight up lie and you know it.... just like all the rumors about universal health care failing in other industrialized countries.... total straight up LIE
Yeah, keep ignoring what the Left has done to Europe and the UK. Lie and Deny. You need to lie to yourself in order to remain true to your faith in a bankrupt, hatemongering ideology.
OH poor little republican with hemorrhoids.... maybe you should go to the same doctor Glen Beck went to.... and then cry about how horrible our health care system is.... OH and if I wanted any lip from you I would rattle my zipper.... so hey man take some of your own Confucius advice and "look past self"
funkyflights, you're a complete and total buffoon. I was mocking YOU. Read your own comments about "look past yourself." That was ME mocking YOU. You're so hopelessly, defiantly ignorant you don't even know when I've quoted what YOU said. Those are YOUR words and you're too stupid to know I'm just repeating you. The fact that you think it sounds stupid only confirms your idiocy. After all, you said it not me. It wasn't my advice, it was yours.
thomaserossi... LET me make something clear to you ... I CAN CARE LESS ... you just made ZERO sense trying to prove some kinda stupid point that is worthless.... pull your head outta the sand... stop being a republican doosh bag ... only idiot is yourself
Can't speak for Europe but 80% were unhappy here. The NHS in Britain is also widely reviled. The public sector unions cripple the healthcare systems here. Hospitals are overcrowded and decrepit. A and E rooms are full of drug addicts and drunks because they can't be turned away. Thousands wait on trolleys instead of beds because unions won't allow new be used. Utter debacle. the more money the government spends the worse it gets. Basically all the middle-class buys additional private insurance
BS ... your a republican acting like a European ... your probably living in New York City ... NO country would trade there national health care system for our EXPENSIVE life sucking garbage of a system ..... IS that how you want your health care BASED on profit ? step off....
I'm from Tullamore, Republic of Ireland although I wished I lived in the States.
Why does it matter what it's based on?The question is which performs best. I have visited relatives in hospital in the US and the standard hospitals over there resemble the private ones here i.e good. If you want to see COMPLETE LIFE-SUCKING GARBAGE go to Britain or Ireland and see the NHS and HSE. That will be America's future
Oh i well belive that!! Everyone in the Isles (and the continent) HATES America and everything it does so obviously they wouldn't want an American system. But they also hate their own system because it's so bad and decrepit. Our system plays into the hands of the rich as what's known as the "two-tier system" emerges. Do some research
You sound like a typical uniformed cool aid drinking liberal - Why not do some research on the subject. Invirtuo is correct - Check out the Ques for the NICE commission causes. Read - and stop being a sheep lead to slaughter.
Also you obviously don't talk to many Europeans!! Everyone complains about the disaster of healthcare. They still think it's better than America's because those continental faggots HATE America and anything it does. If American healthcare had the Philospher's stone they would still criticise it
Someone gave you a thumbs down, I remedied it, cuz they are wrong! You are right on, even if government doesn't mean to, which they do, it would happen like this anyway, because no business can compare to limitless funds by the fed (tax through inflation on every citizen) and regular taxes as well.
FOR NOW those are concerned can get private health insurance. But you should be worried about insurance companies tanking, especially since the 'fairest' and most honorable of them will go first.
See those thumbs down? Take ur opinion somewhere where someone cares. Typical democrat picking on the only news station that is conservative. They may be bought and paid for like all other media, but the ideology behind republicans (except moral conservatism) is right and you just need to get over that. See how Obama is screwing up time after time again? He's even worse than the Neo-con Bush with this outrageous spending, you should be ashamed.
Look when you call the fire department you dont call a privatized fire department ... when you call the police you dont call a privatized police .... there state ran and they run JUST FINE.... as we've all seen ... we need to make hospitals the same way ....
No.... The postal system is another example, but realistically we don't even need it anymore. In my hometown and many like it, firefighters are volunteer it's worthy to mention. Our justice system (police you mentioned) is not JUST FINE. They have a complex similar to the military-industrial complex and the prison-indus. complex, do you even know what those are and why they exist? Apparently not. The fact is, government screws everything it touches, medicaid, social security, etc. so WHY!?
Those services are different, and just like the military-indust complex and prison-indus complex, if you know what those are(apparently not), the police have their own complex, and they actually fuel the prison-indust. complex with wrongful arrests based on bad law (war on drugs for ex.). Also, police and firefighters don't go through 8 or more years of schooling for their jobs. If it's not profitable, what sane person would go into such a difficult field? SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE=VERY BAD
Wrong...... they can work exactly the same way at the fire department and police force... state ran and paid for by our tax dollars... its' really not complicated....
It's more complicated than you seem to understand... Some argument there, I'm done talking to you. I'm not going to list the reasons this is soooo bad, cuz it's everywhere you look if you pay attention.
NO it's not ..... you republicans like to make it seem complicated.... it's really pretty easy in fact... and I'm glad your done talking to me because your close minded anyway .... just enjoy health reform... the country will be better for it ...
most fire departments are volunteer and most police-citizen interaction tends to be at the local level. Local and customized is better than one size fits all and federal, but folks should recognize that fire, police, and medical are services., and services that operate without a profit-loss system telling them if they're doing their job right are bound to operate in a sub-standard fashion.
That's irrelevant though because they get there paychecks from the state ... which means there state employees....they take there jobs very serious and live good lives from there pay ... no reason doctors cant be the same way ... why would they not take there care of patients seriously ? obviously a doctor would make more money from the state than any fireman or policeman ...and how does profit margin tell someone if there doing there job right ? were talking about care here.. a doctors oath.
Government employees taking their jobs serious...Hello on what planet do you live. So you want people that work for the DMV take in control of your healthcare? Give me a break. How about this, my Family had to sue the VA department for killing my father in one of their Hospitals because of neglect. They overdosed them on a medicine that cause his Heart to stop. I'm a Veteran myself and the healthcare at VA is the worst. because people who are not afraid to get fired, don't give a shit.
Um yeah ....I have a member of my family that works for the fire department and would give his life to save your .... My mom was a police officer for 20 years ... my brother is a police officer for 18 years now.. UM YEAH they take there job serious.. why on gods green earth would you assume someone working for the government would not take there job serious ? so are you saying if it was privatized they would? WTF so does our military NOT take there jobs serious ??
You cant compare a Fire Fighter or a Special forces Soldier which my dad was to an federal government worker that has a administrative job, pushing pencils! Did you know that in 2008 6000 Veterans committed suicide...per Month of that year and it is even worth this year. Because Veterans don't get the Medical care they need it. Have you ever tried to get an appointment with your Dr. at the VA? So If your Suicidal and need to see a Dr., they will tell you to come back in 6weeks.
Well you once again point out the failure of the American health care system ... dont fear the government ... fear the big business that ONLY want profit .... that scares me more than anything
no i did not point out the failure of the American Health system. The VA Department is in charge of the Government and you can ask any Veteran and he will tell you that it is Mismanaged and a Failure. More veterans die per month because of the lack and neglect of the VA then Soldiers right now fighting in the middle east.
@JessicaBelle81 ......or you're a "part-time entertainer from LV" who is completely healthy. Wow. So it takes a month to get a check up?? Give me a break.
@JessicaBelle81 - I feel bad for you. They should abolish the VA Hospitals and clinics and put ALL Vets on a "Veteran Medicare" program (or something similar) and let you see the doctor or your choice. You Vets are our pride and joy. You deserve better than Government Run Healthcare.
Most of the fire departments in the country are comprised in part of volunteers. They are founded by city, county, and local private business concerns. Both the fire and police departments exist in part because of donations from local private citizens. Both fire and police departments are run by those same local concerns, not by some federal tzar. Things are kept small and to the point, that way they are at the ultimate level of culpability and concern. It's not a very accurate comparison.
There not run by donations... YES they do accept donations but it's tax dollars that provide the service.... just like the public option in health care... tax dollars will provide the service IF you need it ... otherwise you can keep your private health care.... giving Americans a public option will keep the insurance companies in check and also give MILLIONS the opportunity for health care which they DONT have now ... it's a win win for everybody in this country ....
STOP BELIEVING what these extremists are saying... PRIVATE INSURANCE WILL NOT BE ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can keep your private insurance for god sake people ... that's ridiculous just stop it!!!!!
Dude, look at hawaii... they did this already. They started state run healthcare. Sure, you could keep your private insurance. But the state healthcare was free. Guess what? Everyone dumped their halthcare and took the free stuff... bankrupted the state healthcare system and they had to scrap it and everyone had to go back and get private insurance.
OK .. then look at Canada... Look and France... Look at England... HELL look at every other industrialized nation in the world .... THEY ALL have Universal health care.... BUT NO ... you use Hawaii as and example... lol.... dude the public option WONT BE FREE...... you still have to pay for it .... that's what your not getting...
Only the truly poor should benefit from charity, and government subsidies aren't charity. If you enact regulation you open the door for special interests to take advantage of the situation. There needs to be laws that enforce contracts and courts available to hear cases. We don't need regulation. It might make people feel safe (falsely), but it does nothing to enhance the quality of health care. More importantly, the US Congress has no Constitutional authority to be doing any of this.
The market place isn't the problem, government is. In a system that claims health care is a right, it isn't. You cannot make anything universal through government coercion. The best way to maximize the effectiveness of health care, lower it's cost, and thus make it available to the most amount of people is through a free market. It works for every other product and service, why should health care be any different? Feeling sorry for the sick doesn't make socialism a good idea.
Because you are forcing people to relinquish their ability to make choices and by having a command and control structure you destroy the market place that makes treatments cheap. We don't have free market health care in the US now, nor have we for decades, so you cannot legitimately claim that any current shortcomings are due to the marketplace. Everything that is cheap about healthcare here is because of the market.
Because when the government plays in the system it's like playing a basketball game one on one with a ref. It's unfair, doesn't play by the rules, provides poor care, and leads to rationing.
But an idiot will support stupid things I guess. Have fun waiting for 16 months to get a knee replacement.
One reason noogie123.Our country is much bigger with WAY MORE PEOPLE and the costs would be staggering. On a side question, I hear your crime rate went up a lot when you guys gave up your guns,Hows that working out for you?
Speaking of the people who don't have healthcare. I don't and don't want any dang government ran healthcare.
Furthermore, my state is providing healthcare to families and children that can't afford it. Now lets look at what 'can't afford' it means.
I know two families explicitly that are on this healthcare system. Earlier this year both families went to Las Vegas gambling, they went to Lake Cumberland Lake vacationing, and one family just went to Florida for their anniversery.
And now you expect to steal my labor to finance their healthcare? Sorry guys, but that is not going to be happening to me, I will sit in jail before I am robbed.

you're condemning a man for his past faults? Pitty on you, + you are making fun of a man who can't spell kool-aid. I bet you're smarter now?
jukiluti 2 years ago
I love how a month later I get challenged on a point I about something so silly. He was telling me to go read more and inform myself in a post full of grammar errors - after pointing out these faults, he continued to believe that the product he accused me of over-consuming was called Cool-aid.. evidently, the guy telling ME to read more will not even check his own knowledge with a quick google search.
7wrmv 2 years ago
As for condemning Glen Beck for his past faults... yes he was an alcoholic... no all past alcoholics do not deserve to live unhappily... but this guy is an abomination. He spews propaganda and lies 24/7 unchecked and under-educated... and worst of all people take him seriously. He is mentally unfit to be on the air.
7wrmv 2 years ago
everything he says is propaganda and lies?
sounds like they're just opinions. its called colorful journalism. not that i like glenn beck. Im mad because you called him a past alcoholic.
jukiluti 2 years ago
He was a past alcoholic - that's a fact. Would you want your surgeon to be a past alcoholic? No. President? Hope not. Should past-alocoholics be allowed to present their opinions on TV? Sure. In front of huge audiences? Fine. But Glen is NOT presenting his own opinions. He is presenting Fox News propaganda that lands on his desk every morning. Opinions are supposed to arise from facts - Fox news takes their opinions and makes up facts (or molds them) to conform.
7wrmv 2 years ago
So Glenn Beck doesn't believe what he's saying?
jukiluti 2 years ago
7wrmv: Would you please specify where Glenn Beck has spread lies? What would qualify him to be able to spread the propaganda that he spews? How are you qualified to say that Glenn Beck is mentally unfit to be on the air?

@psujim85 They also spend $2000 per capita while we spend $4500. What would UK health care be like if they spend as much as us?
raunchbear 1 year ago
@psujim85 What? And insurance plans cover everything and don't work on actuarial tables???? lolololololzzzzzz haahahahaha
That is all besides the fact the UK has private insurance ASWEL
CmdrTobs 1 year ago
@psujim85 Bollocks. Here in the UK the standard of care is just fine. Only medicines that cost huge amounts per course for a very small benefit are rationed. Have you ever bee treated on the NHS, or are you just taking the word of your favourite wingnuts?
pysgodfach 1 year ago
@psujim85 That is rubbish. NHS Trusts are required to provide universal and unlimited cover. If they can't, they refer them to another trust that can. For instance, the NHS recently funded foreign treatment for a young boy abroad for a treatment that had not yet arrived in the UK.
Furthermore, there is nothing to stop a British person from taking out private health insurance. Few do, obviously, but there is no rationing, no lottery - it's all a right wing myth. I speak from experience.

@psujim85 continued:

THEY FEAR our system .....
funkyflights 2 years ago
You're an idiot.

It fails abysmally in Europe. I should know, I SUFFER it
Invirtuo 2 years ago
Wow ... your the only one to actually say that... amazing ... let's take a poll in what people think about there health care in Europe....
funkyflights 2 years ago

IS that how you want your health care BASED on profit ? step off....
funkyflights 2 years ago
I'm from Tullamore, Republic of Ireland although I wished I lived in the States.
Why does it matter what it's based on?The question is which performs best. I have visited relatives in hospital in the US and the standard hospitals over there resemble the private ones here i.e good. If you want to see COMPLETE LIFE-SUCKING GARBAGE go to Britain or Ireland and see the NHS and HSE. That will be America's future
Invirtuo 2 years ago
I have family from Britain .... they would NEVER trade there system for ours.... they don't have to worry about getting sick and going bankrupt...
funkyflights 2 years ago
Oh i well belive that!! Everyone in the Isles (and the continent) HATES America and everything it does so obviously they wouldn't want an American system. But they also hate their own system because it's so bad and decrepit. Our system plays into the hands of the rich as what's known as the "two-tier system" emerges. Do some research

Look when you call the fire department you dont call a privatized fire department ... when you call the police you dont call a privatized police .... there state ran and they run JUST FINE.... as we've all seen ... we need to make hospitals the same way ....
funkyflights 2 years ago
The fact is, government screws everything it touches, medicaid, social security, etc. so WHY!?
Clyaton 2 years ago
Those services are different, and just like the military-indust complex and prison-indus complex, if you know what those are(apparently not), the police have their own complex, and they actually fuel the prison-indust. complex with wrongful arrests based on bad law (war on drugs for ex.). Also, police and firefighters don't go through 8 or more years of schooling for their jobs. If it's not profitable, what sane person would go into such a difficult field? SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE=VERY BAD
Clyaton 2 years ago
Wrong...... they can work exactly the same way at the fire department and police force... state ran and paid for by our tax dollars... its' really not complicated....
funkyflights 2 years ago
It's more complicated than you seem to understand... Some argument there, I'm done talking to you. I'm not going to list the reasons this is soooo bad, cuz it's everywhere you look if you pay attention.
Clyaton 2 years ago
NO it's not ..... you republicans like to make it seem complicated.... it's really pretty easy in fact... and I'm glad your done talking to me because your close minded anyway .... just enjoy health reform... the country will be better for it ...
funkyflights 2 years ago
most fire departments are volunteer and most police-citizen interaction tends to be at the local level. Local and customized is better than one size fits all and federal, but folks should recognize that fire, police, and medical are services., and services that operate without a profit-loss system telling them if they're doing their job right are bound to operate in a sub-standard fashion.
murphycline 2 years ago
That's irrelevant though because they get there paychecks from the state ... which means there state employees....they take there jobs very serious and live good lives from there pay ... no reason doctors cant be the same way ... why would they not take there care of patients seriously ? obviously a doctor would make more money from the state than any fireman or policeman ...and how does profit margin tell someone if there doing there job right ? were talking about care here.. a doctors oath.
funkyflights 2 years ago
Government employees taking their jobs serious...Hello on what planet do you live. So you want people that work for the DMV take in control of your healthcare? Give me a break. How about this, my Family had to sue the VA department for killing my father in one of their Hospitals because of neglect. They overdosed them on a medicine that cause his Heart to stop. I'm a Veteran myself and the healthcare at VA is the worst. because people who are not afraid to get fired, don't give a shit.
k9forkids 2 years ago
Um yeah ....I have a member of my family that works for the fire department and would give his life to save your .... My mom was a police officer for 20 years ... my brother is a police officer for 18 years now.. UM YEAH they take there job serious.. why on gods green earth would you assume someone working for the government would not take there job serious ? so are you saying if it was privatized they would? WTF so does our military NOT take there jobs serious ??
funkyflights 2 years ago
You cant compare a Fire Fighter or a Special forces Soldier which my dad was to an federal government worker that has a administrative job, pushing pencils! Did you know that in 2008 6000 Veterans committed suicide...per Month of that year and it is even worth this year. Because Veterans don't get the Medical care they need it. Have you ever tried to get an appointment with your Dr. at the VA? So If your Suicidal and need to see a Dr., they will tell you to come back in 6weeks.
k9forkids 2 years ago
Well you once again point out the failure of the American health care system ... dont fear the government ... fear the big business that ONLY want profit .... that scares me more than anything
funkyflights 2 years ago
no i did not point out the failure of the American Health system. The VA Department is in charge of the Government and you can ask any Veteran and he will tell you that it is Mismanaged and a Failure. More veterans die per month because of the lack and neglect of the VA then Soldiers right now fighting in the middle east.

Profit margin does not determine quality when it comes to care....
funkyflights 2 years ago
Most of the fire departments in the country are comprised in part of volunteers. They are founded by city, county, and local private business concerns. Both the fire and police departments exist in part because of donations from local private citizens. Both fire and police departments are run by those same local concerns, not by some federal tzar. Things are kept small and to the point, that way they are at the ultimate level of culpability and concern. It's not a very accurate comparison.
CaptainWeirdBeard69 2 years ago
There not run by donations... YES they do accept donations but it's tax dollars that provide the service.... just like the public option in health care... tax dollars will provide the service IF you need it ... otherwise you can keep your private health care.... giving Americans a public option will keep the insurance companies in check and also give MILLIONS the opportunity for health care which they DONT have now ... it's a win win for everybody in this country ....

More importantly, the US Congress has no Constitutional authority to be doing any of this.
obmax1212 2 years ago 2
