Well, she went to college. Probably a great journalism school for her masters, paid her dues at some small papers, excelled, and was noticed by a big paper....the Wash Times. She then moved up the ladder, got a Yankee White clearance, and was promoted to a press position at the white house, reporting for the Times. Does that answer your wuestion about hoe she got on the plane?
