  • Yup! That's right. Although, in big amounts takes a while longer to fade away than with a smaller portion.

A close counterpart would be Habanero. You do not get the BURST right after you chew it, but latter on.

  • wasabi is like, its spiciness is different from chilli, it doesnt lingers much afterburn in your mouth, its just that split moment when you chew on it, it BURST out in your mouth, the spiciness that rose to your nose, but once you swallow it, its fine.

  • Sp00n eats toothpaste

  • I was in Singapore restaurant last week and didn't have a clue what it was, so I put a whole spoon full of it in my mouth. BIG MISTAKE. I spat it all over.

  • looks ike a too much of a nice person to face wasabi

  • americans eat everything no wonder americans are known all over the planet to be very fat

  • it makes people look chinky HAHAHAHHAAH

  • I thought that black people didn't like wasabi?

  • I had a spoon full of wasabi. I actually kinda like it with soy sauce on it. Also its great for clearing your sinuses.

  • jotillos

  • Wasabi has a sweet taste at the very beginning, waiting for 2 sec, the spicyness will crack your nose.

  • poor dude!

  • Thank you for doing this so i dont have to

  • '

wasabi can cause a bad breath

  • wasabi taste horrible.

  • nosebleed xD feels like this at the first time xDD

  • that made me hungry lol

  • no kick ... the tube wasabi is more "strong" then those mixed-powdered ones at the sushi place.. and i practically just eat off the tube ^^ in large lumps, can't do too big cos the "kick" will get up my head... and tears will follow, but i can handle roughly a ground nut size (1 cm in length, half a cm diameter ?) , it sorta became my snack at the desk lol , plain wasabi nothing else ^^...

  • @BabyOxide tube wasabi? taste like the hell^^ but i love it <3

  • @BabyOxide

The powdered wasabi gots hotter as it's stirred, thus the powdered can be much hotter than the stuff in the tube, although the tubed isn't all that hot IMHO. Fresh wasabi is the hottest and far tastier, in any case it's not meant to be eaten alone.

  • haha, next time you'll know that we don't make fun of wasabi as easily rofl! XD

  • sou yiu tink yiu kan tolk inglich???

  • that was brave:)

  • haha!!! XD

  • @omarjuvera i fuckin love sushi dont u please suscribe me

  • pause it at 0:08 fucnny as hell

  • wasabi burned my nose...i bought sushi today...wat is that pink meaty stuff that looks like fish but tastes how soap smells?

  • Ginger

  • Pickled ginger, actually. Great for clearing the palate after eating sushi with wasabi.

  • if you bought cheap grocery store sushi, it's weak, but if you do decide to use the wasabi that is with it, only use a tiny amount, it is very potent for the untrained tongue...

the pickled ginger is great though, it does clear your palate, and i enjoy its taste

  • It is pickled ginger, it a pallet cleanser. You are supposed to take a tiny peice between each piece of sushi. :)

  • i think ur talking about ginger. it was rly thin in strips, right?

  • dude that hurts:Pi had some myself and my mouth truly was burning lol

  • @ XxkingofpiesxX : lol you are a idiot<!!!!!!!

  • when i first ate sushi i tought that the wasabi was smashed avocado

  • hell ya dude REAL wasabi is crazy, that imitation in the tubes are nothin compared to the real one

  • hardcore, man LOLOL that must have been a wager

  • lol i remember eating my first wasabi like an icecream it was horrible

  • wasabi is delicious

  • Real wasabi, is very spicy. Try that in a whole spoon serving. Not just a little bit, but ALL. Then...I dare you to say it's not spicy.

  • if its not spicey.....then that means you DIDN'T EAT IT!

  • @omarjuvera Well, it's not spicy like a chili is, but it definitely has its unique sensation that I wouldn't exactly describe as "spicy." Spicy clings to your tongue for a while and is unpleasant for a long duration of time, but wasabi just gives you a painful jolt in your head up your nose for a few seconds.

  • @omarjuvera I ate a half stick of butter size wasabi chunk at a sushi restaurant this past weekend for $25....it was horrible. i dont even know if it was worth the money.

  • @omarjuvera It's not spicy :D

  • It's not spicy in the purest sense but just DISGUSTING! Even a tiny bit of it^^

  • nah this thing is as spicy as ever ive eaten like just 1 big paste of it and it went to my nose it stung hard ==" and still chilli on my tounge =="

  • its not that spicy as u think

  • try some freshly grated wasabi hehe!

  • i tried wasabi once and it's not too spicy i think

  • Depending on the place, the flavor and spiciness changes.

  • true, here in germany, cheap wasabi isn't spicy at all

  • @mitzuki depending on your culture. if like in germany you dont use any pepper maybe only onions in food, then this is too spicy for you. you also can get sick of it and damage your stomach
