After spending $5,300 US to rebuild my 1.8t engine in my Jetta because of sludge problems, I'd have to say, "Right." Of course VW covered Audi TT and Passat's with the 1.8t for free, but if you were a dumb schmuck like myself that bought a Jetta with that engine you were SOL. Also, to replace a clutch cost $1200 US - should've just bought an automatic. I failed to mention the rubberized skin in the interior that started peeling off.

Actually I have seen an EOS my sister drives one thanks ass-wipe. It is a nice car for a woman or a gay man that wants a convertible but this is about the Scirroco. The problem with this car is that the dealers in the US would probably love to have it because it will sell fro more than a similarly equipped GTI. VW home office probably doesn't care because a sale is a sale. BUT VW of North America likely doesn't want it because it is made in Portugal and every one sold instead of a GTI, etc would be one less care sold out of the Mexican plant. SOOOOO the trick is to either build the damned thing in Mexico or eventually in the new plant in Tennessee.

Hatchbacks are massively practical. You can haul surfboards, dogs, furniture, paintings and other stuff that would never fit in the boot (trunk) of a saloon car.
