Is there an instance where you would use one bead tip over the other? I mean use a clam shell as opposed to the one with the little hook w/ the open cup thingy. I think that I would like to use the clam shell type if it doesn't matter.
None of these are bead caps, as you called them at the start of the vid. Bead caps are an entirely different finding & are used for decorating around the hole of a bead or capping it. These are all bead tips & the ones with the hook that you roll over are also known as 'callottes'. As I repair jewellery for a living I wouldn't recommend using a crimp at the end of beading wire inside a callotte as these crimps can easily slide off. Bead tips are best used with soft threads (Nymo, silk).

dang those are ugly nails, were they done at a 'non-conforming shop'-lumpy and wide at tip, i cant even watch the demo cuz those nails so dang ugly,
