Guys, don't disregard the fact that the Eclipse had slicks. Tires are a major mod that makes a huge difference. Notice how the Eclipse leaped off the line while the Mach struggled for traction, but later ran the Eclipse down. Traction is a beyotch, lol. Good runs!

IDK but I hope everyone is talking about the vr-4 3000gt and not the reg. cause the 06+ eclipse GT will own the reg and with a few mods a stock vr4 aswell. FYI the new eclipse responds very well to mods.... but I don't expect all the haters to know that. I/H/E and they push out more power then the evo to the wheels.

The Mach lost, I was the one that put the cheaters(not slicks) on the Eclipse. If you watch all the vids it is obvious the kid in the mach sucks at driving, but oh well that is street racing. I told my friend (eclipse owner/driver) before the race he definently wouldn't win stock vs stock, so that day we got some junkyard toyota rims and cheaters mounted up. He then proceeded to rip the guts out of the mach 1 and get like 20 or 50 dollars from the mach driver. :-P

For one the Mach and GT are polar opposites. 2nd the Machs next mod should be the driver mod- couldn't take off or shift to save his life. I've beaten an EVO IX with basic boltons so Eclipses don't scare me at all- especially ones w/o FI. Chalk this vid up to driver error on the Machs part.

But on the other hand, the eclipse is newer, wastes less gas, and looks much better. Before i was going to get a toyota supra (stock) but then i thought of these things which gave me an idea of buying the eclipse instead.

And, with the turbo i added to the eclipse for 5 grand, even performance would be almost even with the 3000. So now i get the best of everything.... except for the fact that 3000 are more rare and catches the attention of others more then the eclipse.

Yes, its newer but the looks part is just opinion. I still like the 3000 better. It doesn't need a body kit and IMO the Eclipse does. The Supra would've been nice and you would get way more attention on that. But its only a 2 seater. Well, the 3000 is practically a 2 seater as well. Man I just wish they would bring the 3000 back. I remember reading they were bringing it back but it was just a prototype and they didn't give any details. Sort of like the Skyline.

It's all up to the driver. If you look at the specs, there's no way a stock Mach 1 should lose to a stock Eclipse, but it could. An 04 Mach 1 weighs ~3400 lbs, has ~310 hp, and runs low 13s in the quarter mile. An 06 Eclipse GT weighs ~3600 lbs, has ~263 hp, and runs low 14s in the quarter mile. But like I said, it all comes down to the driver.

Forget slicks, put nitrous on the Mach and you'll own damn near anything anyways. But slicks would deffinitley be enough to beat that Eclipse. The biggest problem the guy was having was shifting(lol), but after that, it was getting traction. If he put a hurst shifter on the thing, and slicks, that Eclipse would lose so hard.
