  • i worked on a ship that was haunted i saw him twice second time we got him on cctv

  • talkin very nice lol

  • Wow so glad I found this.. I watched it on tv years and years ago back in the early 90's when I was a kid. All I could remember was the guy in the car saying 'I'll give you a ride'. Then I googled it and ended up here. So awesome to watch it again these many years later :D

  • Just watched this on tv wow

  • i missed this show =/

  • this scared the shit out of me when i was a kid

  • My uncles plane crash was on this show... im hoping i can find it in the videos x thank you for posting them

  • @doctortwyla was that the southern cloud

  • hes prolly told this story a couple of dozen times before. yet he makes it seem he's telling it for the 1st time. ("god knows how many years... let me think now..." lol)

kudos, sir! we love ya, baby

  • @100silverpizza I'lllll give you a riiiiide! Metaphorically speaking...

  • The most famous clip of all. ;)

  • YES!!! This is the one I've been looking for. We recited this over and over at High school in 1993 :)) I'lllll give you a RIIIIDE! I'm sharing it with my friends on FB who recited it at the time.

  • He was going rape who he picked up

  • @100silverpizza Of course it's nonsense, check out his IMDB-site and read the comments section, there is a poster who recounts this story which she found on some ghost board, only half the story is totally different and even more outrageous than the one told here. Then the nephew of Telly Savalas chips in (always trying to promote their family site) and supposedly tells the story as his uncle had told him, which is again different than this crap story here. Check it out for a laugh.

  • OMG i remember this, it scared the sh*t out of me 4 years lol

  • Yipes!!!!!!!! How scary is that???????

  • Holy crap i was looking everything for this!

This has been haunting me since i saw it when i was 4 years old.

The "I'll give you a ride" has been in my head and i could never find it...until now...

    Freaky shit.

  • All due respect, I believe this story by the artist formerly known as Ernst Stavro Blofeld formerly known as Kojak formerly known as Telly Savalas now known as (symbol) over Warwick Moss. That is all.

  • what year is this from?

  • @Cimozzen

It aired here in Australia in 1993

  • Last year, at my brother's wedding...or just before the reception, rather, we'd started having a few drinks in the back waiting room of the reception centre... and a bit of banter led to me bringing up this show, 'I'LL GIVE YOU A RIIIIDE' in particular. The photographer looked up from her camera and burst out laughing, and we spoke about the show and the legend that is Warwick Moss. Loved it haha

  • Like you Telly, I too was helped by a friendly ghost.

He saved me from a demon that was attacking me in my rented appartment. Over times, he saved me again from few more spirits that intended harm to me. He also saved me from Banshee just a few years ago. Whenever I'm in danger, this one ghost always comes to my defence. He intimidates harmful spirits and criminals into steering clear of me. Though he remains anonymous to me, I've long believed that God has assigned him as my guardian.

  • Maybe the ghost was just a flaming homo?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

  • I'LL GIVE YOU A RIIIIIIDE

  • hahahaa, I remember Warwick Moss and the Extraordinary

  • This happened to me, in the dead of a sstill foggy night, in Jacksonville, Florida. On January 29th, 1986, at 1 AM, my friend and I saw the crew of the Challenger, holding helmets, talking and laughing, as they walked up the St. Johns River, in the clouds of the fog, moving from NAS JAX toward the city. THey stood about 100 ft. high as they moved north like walking statues. Telly would visit us in Jacksonville, FL.

  • Wow, thanks for posting. I love good ghost stories and this was a good story, well told by Telly Savalas. There are two types of people in this world; those who've had supernatural experiences and believe in ghosts and cynics who have experienced nothing and write it off. You'll have your experience at some stage, until then...pleasant dreams...

  • Thanks a lot, GHOST. Because of this, I couldn't go walking at night for years. Scared the fucking shit out of me.

  • @Zebonka Why, if you needed to get home, 'HE'LL GIVE YOU A RIIIIIIDE' HA :p

  • what did he mean about dallas was he talking about jfk thanks

  • i loved this show growing up!!

  • if Telly Savalas says it, i believe him

  • i wonder is he carlilse's brother?

  • LOL, Years ago, the members of my choir saw this episode when it first aired. And since they all had good singing voices, they'd used the "I'LL give you a Riiiiide" pickup line, every single chance they'd get.

Q: Hey, where's our next performance venue?"

    A: "I know the way...(shifts to falsetto) I'll give you a riiiide."

Bass guy: "Wanna go out for dinner tomorrow?"

Soprano girl: "Sure.Your car or mine?"

Bass: "Don't worry. (shifts to tenor!) I'll give you a riiiide..."

  • "i was never superstitious... but then something happened that scared the hell out of me!"

  • i remember seeing this episode when i was 7 years old, it scared the shit out of me and i couldnt sleep for week, after watching it now i laugh at the fact it scared me lol

  • I believe him 100%

  • Utility infielder for the boston redsox

  • interesting

  • i'll give you a ride ,utility infeilder for the boston redsox hahahaha the voice cracks me up too much

that and... i'll be back! muaahhahahahaha

  • ill give you a riiide.....

  • His voice is so funny, lol : )

  • "I'll give you a ride" OMG i use to get the shits hearing that when i was lil haha

  • didnt he used to say ill give you a dollar in the squeeky voice as well????

  • Telly Savalas is so awesome! It's a great story. Savalas has such a sexy voice.

  • Great story,so well told by Kojak.

    Who luvs ya baby.

  • Telly tells a great story, but then they had to get a guy on helium to go "I'll give you a ride" which deep-sixes the whole thing!

  • this story is bullshit. I've heard so many different versions of this.

  • hes an actor remember ;)

  • I remember my mum telling me about this story when I was a kid.

    Thank you for posting:)

  • The woman is why the guy committed suicide, and was communicating someone else that was famous would die the same way.

found this story after all these years.

  • This is a version of "the Vanishing Hitchhiker"...with the roles reversed, awesome.

  • Telly Salvas = full of shit

  • Comment removed

  • OMFG!! I used to love this show.

I've been looking out for it on DVD for years!

have you got the one about that place in France called the "Devils Teeth"???

  • THAT IS A THING OF AWESOME! Thanks for posting!

  • Jesus I remember the next day at school after this episode everyone was saying "I'll give you a ride"

Still gives me the heebie jeebies.

  • @Hafsol65 I remember it too I was about 8 when it aired I was so scared that "I'll give you a ride" has stayed with me until now and I'm 19 now

  • @Hafsol65 yeap you bet! We certainly did over and over. I am sharing this vid with my friends on FB who did this. They'll get a kick out of it!

  • the ghost sounds like a homo haha

    good story though

  • @X0Dave0X okay gay people or "homos" as you said don't actually sound like that. that just sounds eerie and feminine. learn the difference.

  • Homo.

  • @X0Dave0X Excuse me?

I'm a female. Do you know how immature you sound?

  • lol seriously i don't care, it's the internet, get over it.

  • @X0Dave0X If I "got over it" I'd be as apathetic as you. I don't appreciate gay people being called homos in modern day society, there's nothing to be gotten over about that other than the fact that you need to get over your immature use of words! Especially on a video which has nothing to do with it.

    Grow up.

  • If it really bothers you that badly then you're a sad, sad person, the ghost does sound like a homo, so if you don't like me saying it, then you can fuck off to be quite honest :)

  • @X0Dave0X If I'm offended at the use of the word "homo" then I'm a "sad, sad person"? Oh please, grow up.

  • No, you're sad because it bothers you so much that you keep replying to someone on the internet that you've never met. So, no, you grow up and get a life.

  • @X0Dave0X There's nothing wrong with educating strangers.

If no-one did that, we wouldn't have teachers.

  • lol you're a funny one, ''educating strangers''? What exactly have you ''educated'' me about? I'll still say homo if i like, regardless of what you say.

  • @X0Dave0X I wasn't talking about educating you. I have no interest in you. I am merely correcting you in your foul language, you homophobe.

  • haha you have no interest, yet keep replying to me. Ooh homophobe that's a big word ;)

  • @X0Dave0X You sound about 14 years old. Stop replying to me.

  • @X0Dave0X Don't let your mouth get you into something your mind can't handle.

  • lol ''can't handle''? aAnd what's that then darling?

  • what a bitch

  • I'LLLLLLL GIVE YOU A RIIIIIIIDE

  • @chickenwiflargetalon he sounds like herbert from family guy/what does the baseball player have to do with the story

  • @chickenwiflargetalon The way he said that cracked me up!

  • When I first saw this I shit my pants.

  • Glad he corrected himself at the end saying about 40 something years ago, because at the beginning he says about 58 - 59 years ago. Well, depending when this footage was shot, say early 90's?, that would have put Telly around 13ish back then.....lol

  • i think he ment the year 1958/59 then that would be right right yes thank you

  • He said, "how many years "ago", 58 - 59?" Not what year approximately....

You need to listen again and go try to argue with someone else you dumb ass!

Take a bow to that! I can't stand people who just try to argue about trivial matters such as yourself. Get a life idiot!

  • its not me that needs to listen again i think its you and i wasnt trying to argue at all i was telling you a fact prick who do you think you are talking to me like that you hate peaple who argue over trivial things you must hate your self then jack ass grow up

  • ok, are you done? Happy now?....any further messages I'll just trash...

  • the ghost looks like teller from penn and teller. atleast now we know y he never talks lol

  • Ha, I thought the same thing.

  • Dude were did you get this ive been looking for it for years,,

    SUCCESS!!!!!!1

  • @01freezer01

do you remember the second part of it? he had another encounter with it on a golf course. i think he may have told that part on another episode.

  • this is an urban legend, and a entertaining one at that. Bravo mister savalas, storyteller extraordinaire.

  • who was the baseball player did telly savalas ever come back

  • Love this story. I seen it years ago, thanks for posting.

  • this is the only story i remember, scared the crap out of me when i was younger. what happened to the end? when i saw it years ago, the voice talked to him on the golf course "did you hear what happened in dallas"

  • Well I didn't know there was any more. This is off the Australian version of the show, so perhaps they edited it down from the american show. Thanks for the info.

  • yeah its funny, i watched it in aus. the voice was talking about an assasination in dallas while they were playing golf. i think the host may have re introduced that bit aftr the ad break?!?

  • I remember that episode!! He was talking about a different event though, it had nothing to do with the helpful ghost.

  • @Oct195

no they didn't edit it out. i remember it as well, i

  • Agree with everyone else. As a pup this story made me give birth to surprise shit nightly for weeks.

  • Telly Savalas is a bit of a cocksucker, he made this story up and I saw this when I was 8 and it gave me nightmares for years,

I still can't go walking at night because I'm worried that the "I'LL GIVE YOU A RIDE" guy will come after me ......

    Fucking CUNT!

  • how do you know he made it up ?

  • The immediate giveaway - there are 2 versions of the story out there. There's the one presented here on Australian TV (I saw it back in the 90's when it was new),

and then there's another version on the internet in text form.

Pure bunkum - it's a GREAT story though; I do love ghost stories, even the obvious fakes.

  • HAHA Same here

  • So... was the dollar he was given.... GHOST MONEY??? If so, can ghost just pull money out of their asses?? Does it disappear after awhile? If it does, should the gas station owner be reimburse? Did Telly end up banging the ghost dude's wife? Do ghosts get angry? What would an angry ghost with a high pitch voice sound like? So many unanswered questions.

  • @rji Yeah I wonder if the dead guys wife gave Telly a ride?

  • Goes to get gas but realises when he gets there that he is skint

  • Why the fuck would he need to be pushed in the car if he only ran out of gas?

  • Why are you a racist shithead? can't you fuck off back to your own little account and stop posting your racist trash you tit

  • what's up with the voice!

  • fucking shit that ghost scares me

    fuck off ghost

  • Hey Blitzwing06 you racist shit im gonna **** you up

  • Fuck I can't sleep imagine this guy appearing next to your bed in the middle of the night wearing his white coffin suit...

I'LL GIVE YOU A RIIIIIIIDE..... echo.....

Fuck that shit, I'm never watching this again and fuck you Telly Savalas you bald cunt.

  • Warwick Moss FTW!!!!

  • Freakin worst story I've ever heard.

    "I'll give you a ride."

    LMAO

  • you kiss my black ass thats what the fuck you do

  • mother fuck u Blitzwing06 posting racist shit on my page u go stick a bannana up yer ass closest you can get to losing your virginity

  • ur not black

  • yes that is a very important fact just like your a racist who posts racial slurs on the ireland 1 holland 0 mcateer goal video

  • NOW we know how TELLY lost his hair

  • This played briefly in America except with a different host. But whether the story is true or not, it sounds like all those old ghost hitchhiker, traveller picked up by ghost urban legends it's still a great story and well told.

  • Yeah, I remember Corbin Bernsen hosting, with cigar in hand. He was great, so melodramatic. I especially loved the mix of celebrity and regular peoples' stories. I believe Telly Savalas was sincere about this. How creepy!

  • I'm sure Brian Brown had this gig before him.

  • 1 dollar for a full tank of gas, those were the days huh

  • "i'll lend you a dollar"

  • My new pickup line "I'll give you a ride"

  • Just got to make sure you do it in the high pitched voice :)

  • I remember this very well... its the only one i remember from The Extraordinary... me and my little sister watch it together one night and didnt get no sleep... the high voice of the ghost is what scared me the most... I searched for this for yaers... thank you...

  • No wonder he had a high voice! That is the one of the creepiest moments, when he finds out how he died!

  • i know it gave me chills. that was the creepiest part of the story

  • @raaziv me too hahahha

  • fuckin love that shyit!

  • I remember there was another part to this interview, I don't know if it was from the same show but I remember it clearly. Telly went on to tell that the 'ghost' had appeared to him on numerous occassions after that. He told another story of how he was playing golf some ten years later & the guy appeared on another part of the course & shouted to him "hey Telly, did you hear what happened in Dallas?". Later that day he found out another celebrity had been shot at the exact same time he'd appeared

  • I remember this soooo well. It scared me to bits, especially the high voice of the ghost. I searched for it for years. Thank so much for uploading it!!

  • I saw Telly Savalas tell this story on TV many years ago -- I think it might have been on Johnny Carson, but I'm not sure about that. Watching him here, and back then, there's no doubt in my mind about the truth of this chilling encounter with the spiritual world.

  • hell ya i remember this

i remember this show had 2 different hosts aswell.

  • wow i always liked this show-and this is the best story they ever had, telly savalas was the man-kojack, i had his autograph, and lost it. but wasnt corbin burnson the host?! MORE PLEASE IF U GOT IT-THANKS

  • anyone out there if you have taped copies of the extraoridnary can you please put them on youtube as you would be making alot of fans extremely happy.

  • if anyone has episodes of the extraordinary please put it on youtube this show was one of the best shows

  • i remember watching this with my auntie when i was a kid, scraed the fuck outtta me that blokes voice..... ill give you a ride

  • This is a classic story. May or may not be true but fantastic.

  • Also of interest (to me, at least): in this video, the name of the (late) driver is James Cullen, while in other versions, it's Harry Agganis. There was a Harry Agganis who played for the Boston Red Sox, and died in 1955.

  • Here, check this out: underworldtales(dot)com/telly(dot)htm

Interesting that, in the version of the story told in this video, the guy killed himself, whereas in the version in the link, the guy was killed in a car crash.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Savalas just made the story up, just for the sake of storytelling. And it is a great story, that can't be denied.

  • What a memory, an episode not forgotten all these years later. Bring back The Extraordinary!

  • Amen to that!

  • i always remember telly this story on larry king live..was so glad to run into it again so i can pass it on...just unbelievable what else can you say!

  • Thank you for posting this. The first time I watched this I was still in high school, some 15 years ago. I tell you that watching this again still gives me the chills!

  • omg this is like the only part of this show i remember from when it went on tv.. hehe 'iiiiill give you a riiiide' haha spooky =P

  • hey man u wouldn't happen to have the full series of this.

Its a pretty rare find if u do have it and could upload it some where.

  • Thank you for posting.I live in New Zeland and thuis still haunts me today and all my friends who saw this.I think all of NZ saw this cos we all joke about it when we see a Cadillac at night. Thanks
