There are state run homes who treated people as bad as this not to mention a recent finding of how they were abusing old people in the homes by giving them cold shower, these were not nuns or priests but state nurses. The Church is made of saints and sinners. I have always had good priests training me.

It should not be forgotten that there was similar establishments for protestants in Northern Ireland, (I know because I was in one). I commited no crime but was unfortunate to have a very convincing liar of a mother. Her actions have had a devastating effect on my life. For those who believe in Karma believe me it doesn't exist my mother still lives at 89 and has lead a fruitful life.

it's an extremly intense movie....but it shows something important about the catholic church...yesterday i went to church and there the priest talked about humanrights and that the catholic church laid the foundation for human rights...and now i watched this movie, which breaks the human rights in every possible way

If prisons are privatised then much of their treatment of inmates would go unregulated. Therefore punishments in prisons could be extremely harsh and against the prisoners human rights. Just because they have committed a crime doesn't mean they should be treated cruelly when doing their time! What if they stole medicine that they couldn't afford? Just because they are a criminal is it fair to treat them so despicably like in the film? No human should be treated like that.

This is the exception . I grew up with Nuns in a catholic Girls school and they all were lovely, gentle people. Its disgraceful that this happened,This is not the way of Christ. Gabriel byne's book, Pictures in My Head, has a part that tells how he and his father picked flowers for a nun at school. It was a request that the children bring flowers for some special thing, I don't remember what. He was late for school that day and came running in with his flowers. When the nun who was the teacher saw them, she made fun of them and ripped them to shreds. I cried all day after I read how that child was treated.
