I remember when I first heard this on the Quiet Storm in San

Francisco, early 1982. This supreme singer just breathes

the very LIFE and MELODY into this song which John Lennon

just missed for some reason. It was recorded in Switzerland,

and I believe with the Yellowjackets (I have the album on vinyl

LP somewhere). I remember they would play it late and night,

and everytime I heard it, life would just be SO beautiful to me.

I agree. As much I love soul music, "Imagine" by John Lennon was a pop song, that in this case needs to be sung like a pop song. You can often measure how great a singer is by having a song of theirs covered. To me, Lennon as a singer is very underated, and I have a new appreaction for Lennon's gift.

LOL i love it when she starts cracking up at 4:36 ..I saw her 3 times in the late 80's - mid 90's and she absolutely giggled her way through parts of her show (but not during the songs) ...I think she was high, still and all, the most beautiful smile and technically perfect singer live i have ever seen ..So captivating live.

Oh, c'était un temps trop lointain. C'était au temps des radios "libres".C'étaient l'époque où j'ai connu Randy Crawford. C'était l'époque où ....J'étais étudiant à Toulouse et je n'attendais que ton émission à 23H et je me régalais. Et oui, c'était en '78 au festival de Montreux que Randy s'est produite. C'était un Festival grandiose tel qu'on ne le ferait plus jamais. Un festival unique tel que Vienne ne pourrait plus jamais faire. J'espère que tu te reconnaîtras.
