  • I have one and I carry it every day. I absolutely LOVE it! Not too sharp out of the box, but I put my own custom stank on it and now it cuts really well. I never had been a big fan of the chisel grind blades, but that blade shape has come in quite handy several times. Definitely not your conventional cutter, but it has my respect as a defensive weapon. Good to see someone else likes it, too.

  • TU! very nice, this is in my wanted list now :)

  • I like the price :)

  • ive got this same knife and i carry it just left of my belt buckle horizontally so i can reach across and pull it out right hand like noraml but i can also grab it in tht reverse grip, thought i can get it on i cant get it off one handed like u can,lol

  • yeah, exactly - you turned it round to turn it into a scary thing - my first thought when I saw this shape ...

  • There are a lot of people that think Emerson knives are some of the best ones out there. If I get this I'll let you know what I think.

  • @harfus1 well i dont consider folding knives as real knives. folders are edc knives. im not a fan of emersons. looking forward to see your video man. let me know when its up. im decent with sharpening myself but i dont know how would i sharpen/fix this knife to make it a good user...

  • i know. and i still think chisel grind is crap. just my personal opinion... i have lot of knives and love em all but me personally would never pay big bucks for chisel grind knife... if you look at any "REAL" knives you wont find any with chisel grind... there is a reason for that...

  • @gavkoo some information for you, the chisel grind knife was created to be used for the orental cheff because the flat part of the knife was used to make an straight cut on the food, and it was very easy to sharpen it (because of the chisel grind) i dont like it but still I dont dislike it, but some companies start making this type of knife because it is no necesary an angle to sharpen it, and it is true i dont like chisel grind, but the ones I have are really easy to get them very sharp

  • Yaknow... all the Emerson knives are chisel grind and they ain't cheap. I was looking at the La Griffe by Emerson and also the Fred Perrin version of the same, that is also made by Boker. Both chisel grinds. If I end up getting this I'm going to sharpen it and make my first knife vid showing me cutting paper with it.

  • I think there is a s30v-titanium version of this knife, made from the designer, but much more expensive.

    Cool review Gav.

  • @thelockkk oh yeah man. ive seen the vid. freaking gorgeous, especially the ma-4 version. only if it didng have chisel grind and didnt cost 1000 bucks lol

    thanks man

  • @gavkoo

Lol i didn't know it had a chisel grind, thats not good lol

Did the boker come sharp out of the box?

  • @thelockkk Nothing special. Its a collection piece, not a user so i didnt and dont care that much.

  • I've read that chisel grinds can be made very sharp, but I have no experience with them at all. It's kinda holding me back from getting it. I like the concept of the knife though... for like a backup or neck knife.

  • @harfus1 dont know man. im not a fan of chisel grind. they are used on tools and not the knives. no good knife ever had a chisel grind so that tells me something. they are easier to sharpen in the field i hear but i dont really care for that.

  • I understand these come pretty dull. Did you sharpen yours and if so, was it difficult to put a sharp edge on it? I'm going back and forth as to whether I should get this or a CRKT minimalist.

  • @harfus1 to be honest this is pure collection blade. i have many blades adn this is one of the last i would ever reach out for. the edge is horrible, wasnt that dull and still istn since i didnt really use it but the reality of chisel grind is really bad. crkt minimalist looks like a sweet user. dont own one but by the looks of it, i would love to get one.

  • well it IS made to be held in reverse grip style :P

  • @oo0TheUnforgiven0oo Trust me, i have very small hands and any bigger wouldnt fit the pinky the way i can so i can almost guarantee it wasnt meant to be held in reverse like i have shown. But i sure like it hehe.

  • top vid, iv never seen/hear of this blade b4! ur making me go broke brother Gav! =] take care mate

  • @TheDishD omglmao. you cracked me up mate. i forgot to say one thing that isnt good about this blade thou. its chisel grind. i hate that type of grind but what can you do. it still is a beauty in my collection...
