Pastors are human. I am a white man who attended a black church. One sunday service, my pastor made this statement; " don't marry outside your race". The only fault I find with Obama's speech is the fact that he had to make it at all. It is a real eye opener into the life of Obama , the people he surrounds himself with, and the way he thinks after watching the video of his hateful pastor.I believe sadly, for many, the video of Obama's pastor speaks much more about who Obama is than anything he can say himself.

Obama's speeches are specific, inspiring and intelligent. He gets down to earth on the issues while stirring up the crowd with calls for change, because unlike most candidates he truly believes in change. He has high hopes for this country. Therefore, you have to control all instutions of American culture in order to implement racist policy in every aspect. White people have been in a position to do this and still actively do this in ALL institutions of American culture. Ok, I can agree that it's the implications that I dissagree with. But you must admit, the implications that he must also be Muslim, or a radical, or a racist are pretty far fetched considering his record. I just think he should be judged for who he is. Obama claims that he has good judgement, yet for over 20 years he has been & still is a member of a church led by Jeremiah Wright who has on more than one occasion denounced America and espoused hatred. Obama claims to be against the Iraq war, yet he only gave one speech and has not done much else. His actions and results HAVE NOT backed up his words. Obama is one crafty politician! Pastors are human. I am a white man who attended a black church. One sunday service, my pastor made this statement; " don't marry outside your race". From that day forward I never went back to that church. Everyone must make their own value judgments. Their is no American value, latino value or any value. Their are only personal values which must be woven into the fabric of the civilization in which each person lives. Values are used to divide in today's society. That must change.

Dwashington28, just because Obama's pastor said these things doesn't mean Obama had to agree with him. As he said, he had heard him preach like that and didn't agree at all. But that doesn't mean that he was going to uproot his pastor just because of a few things he said. Rev. Wright was not his mentor, he was his pastor, and it's not fair or just to hold Obama responsible for what his pastor said. You need to wake up and pay attention to what's really going on, not just what you want to hear.

A great speech? He tried to equate his Pastor's paranoid racist and anti-American screeds as the moral equivalents of his Grandma and Ferraro. If Obama was truly the uniter he purports to be he would have denounced Wright for his misguided anger as blacks inflict their own hardships, see 70% illegitimacy rates, and if any "white man" is to blame, it is the white liberal who enables irresponsible behavior with bigoted programs like welfare and affirmative action due to their irrational guilt.

I can't vote for someone who voted NO on repealing huge tax breaks to Bushes buddies on Wall Street, and to large oil companies. If you followed your politics this was the very first bill that the democrats threatened to pass once they took over congress. I believe his comments are yet again being taken OUT of context. Case and point: "All white people are not hateful and racist, just as all black people are not criminals, lazy and eat fried chicken and watermelon.
Although it does not apply to everyone, we must adress the fact that it does exist with some. As he stated, to ignore that it exists, is one of our greatest errors thus far. He is identifying the problems, that we may pro-actively submit solutions for ALL people.

Beautiful civil rights speech ....but he has poor judgement and did not take action to make a change in his church about the statement made about anti-america, anti-white etc.. When I listen to his speeches I hear him complain about the problems we have as Americans and no clear way to solve them. Just words...
Rezko as a friend, and Rev. Wright as a mentor. America needs to wake up we are not buying a used car from a super saleman, we are hiring a President.

The only fault I find with Obama's speech is the fact that he had to make it at all. It is a real eye opener into the life of Obama , the people he surrounds himself with, and the way he thinks after watching the video of his hateful pastor.I believe sadly, for many, the video of Obama's pastor speaks much more about who Obama is than anything he can say himself.
Obama is a great orator and I genuinely think he is a good person, but I am no longer convinced he is the right MAN for the job.

This is only the start of the smear campaign against Obama. Hillary is gentle compared to Rove and the "Swift Boat" propaganda machine. Before this is out, they will find Obama's paper boy was a Pedophile, his grocer was a thief, and his accountant was a crook. It would be nice if BOB was a viable candidate. BOB's supporters expect the rest of the country to be blind followers as they are.He's not quick on his feet and often pouts when he doesn't get his way.How so many blindly follow is sad.If there were something remarkable about him or his past you might get me on board.He's just not that smart when you get down to it.
