ok, im trying to make ma first video. I used ma nokia x6 to film it, i used ovi suite to put it on ma laptop and it plays fine on windows media player. But when i drag it onto movie maker, the picture overlaps 5 times on itself, with lines going horizzonal. When i use sample videos they work fine :/

i'm editing my video in WMM and the preview box everything is fine and edit are in time with my background music, however when i publish the video some clips are out of sync and sometimes a different clip altogether shows up. what would you advise for this problem?

Hi, even if it LOOKS right, the audio parts might simplee milli secs off key... I always check by expandingg the width of the time like so i can see if the sync right, OR, you can do the video first then import it & then add in the audio... it might just be confliction with the video & audio used....

Go download Vista Codec Package. Install that and then try it again. if the same thing happens your problem is that the file is corrupted and you must use either a repair program or a video converter.

Thats not what i meant. you google Video repair program as well as video converter. thats only if Vista Codecs Package doesn't fix it. have you downloaded & installed the Vista Codecs Package?

When you google it, look for the the free model of it..... in fact do you have an email address, i have one i can send you. BTW, The Vista Codec Package didn't fix anything?

The video repair program fixes issues relating to problems with importing files & stuff. Once you install it, you use the program to fix the file. The converter works differently as that turns one type of vid file into another type. lets say you have a WMV file, you can turn it into a AVI or ASF file.

im making a montage and i splitted all my clips in wmm but now i want to do it in sony vegas 8 i try to open my saved folder from wmm on sony vegas but it says its corrupted is there anyway of doing this??

you cannot import wmm into vegas. i'd recommend trying this:

Open both wmm and vegas, open your wmm project and start copy and pasting into vegas. i hope that works./helps.

if you have the vista version of WMM 2, mind you not 2.6 because that version is the vista version of WMM Xp, then you have the HDF option already. Its under "Windows Media HD" in the publishing options.

I can't import any video onto Movie Maker and whenever I try it says "C:\Users\Public\Videos\Sample Videos\SS100308.AVI could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box."

lol you kinda answered your own question but.... goto the options dialog in the Tools tab. check the box. also in case that doesn't work, google Vista Codec Package and download the newest version. if that doesn't work goto the options dialog again & under the compatability tab hit the reset all dialogs button. let me know if you solved it.

that means you either did 3 things:

1) you changed the name of the vid

2) you moved the vid to a diff place on your computer.

3) you erased the vid.

check to see if you did any of those things

this is a problem that only a good video convert can fix. nothing i can do. look up free video converters and see what you get. if you know how to use torrents, go look for a converter on the pirate bay website
