  • I immediately recognized the singer's voice from a Disney singalong cassette I had as a kid!! I think this song might have been on it! Who's the singer?? I think he did some other Disney songs/albums....

  • THOMAS LEGION!!!

  • P.S. the song is just called "Dixie"

  • my fellow Southerners, please realize this: Republican Party does not, has not, or ever will have your best interests at heart

  • @painlessissuicide yeah and look what the democRATs gave us.... hows that change coming you wanted

  • @boats752 very well

and if you could stop being so insecure over how small your dick is, you might not be such a racist tool

  • @painlessissuicide sorry didnt mean to offend some cock sucking queer....

  • @boats752 so who's the black cock queen in your family? your mom? your sister/wife? your daughter?

    probably all of them

  • @boats752 I think it's precious that you think Republicans are any different. Get manipulated much?

  • 225 people are northerners.

  • @AwesomeCaleb1996 More like, "225 people need a history lesson.....with a switch."

  • i'm french and i love this music

  • The south will rise again

    White power

  • @znace1 idiot.

  • Stars and Bars from Ohio, (who had a handfull of Generals) and Winchester, Virginia.

  • Who is singing this? Is it John Denver?

  • @historyfan447 You should look up H.K. Edgerton

  • i love how valuable pieces of American history, such as music of the period, have been deemed "offensive" by a bunch of bleeding heart morons who've never cracked open a REAL history book -_-

history IS offensive...but how the hell can anyone learn from history if they aren't allowed to study it and learn about it?? how can anyone get true education if the material is censored?

  • @rofflemows2 agreed the south was'nt just about slavery three fourths of the guys who fought were just poor farmers like my ancestors who fought for the freedoms that the South actually had to offer. I kind of wish the North would've kept their shitty generals because we would've won.

  • I whish I can go back in time so I can fight and probably die for the confederacy

  • If Abraham Lincoln was enough of an abolitionist for Frederick Douglass....

He was enough of one for me!

You will admit, it was wrong for the Confederacy to defend slavery.

  • @Scitech101 Wrong! Even the staunchest of Lincolnites admit that he WAS NOT an abolitionist. You will admit that it wasn't constitutional to commit treason by attacking the citizens of the Southern states, and it was even more wrong to murder its citizens. That was NOT the better alternative, puppet.

  • @Scitech101

Interesting. If that is the case, why did he have the backing of Abolitionist leaders? Why was that the position he adopted in 1865, when he had Douglass come with him to his Inauguration?

  • @kahhashim I don't want to shoot anybody but if the US went into another civil war (witch I hope doesn't happen) I would fight for the south and stop thinking the north is so badass y'all arent better than us and if u don't like this video why r u watching it

  • It's a good tune, and hey, who doesn't want to be in the magical world of Disne...Dixie Land

  • HELL TO THE NORTH

    CSA 4ever

  • @AznCracker13 actually georgia was named the heat of the Csa because we had the most railroads and supplies, thats why that dick Sherman burned through my state

  • Seceding is as UN American as it gets, people who don't love this country should leave and live in a Stan somewhere (Pakistan, Afghanistan etc) Technically flying a rebel flag means you hate America.

  • @blackmale78 Yeah cuz its not like the United States of America came in to existance by seceedeing from an oppresive empire...

    Right to Selfdetermination.

All men have the right to make there own deceisions.

    Its a HUMAN RIGHT.

If Texas got tired of the Federal Government why shouldnt the people of Texas be allowed to vote if they want to remain in the union or not?

The US will send you to die so Iraq will be allowed to make decisions but you shoot your brother for wanting freedom.

  • @blackmale78 We tried to leave. Already beat you to the punch.

  • @blackmale78 You do realize that seceding from Britain CREATED the US right? Without secession, the US wouldn't even exist.

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-Haaaaaaaw!!!!!!!!

  • I'm Canadian yet I wish I were in Dixie. If you think the war was fought just for slavery you need to read SEVERAL books.

  • i wish britain was a confedarate state

  • Comment removed

  • Greetz from Germany! We Love Dixie! We tried it too, but just as you, we were torn apart by a war. The Spirit never dies! Jörg and Ingo!

  • Southern Pride from South Carolina!

  • Some of the nicest people I've ever met have had Confederate flags on their vehicles.

  • @RussellClank I guess that means you're not black.

  • @SCOTCHFROG Yeah, but I actually met a black guy with a confederate flag on his license plate, and driving a large Ford truck. He was blasting Toby Keith. It was awkward.

  • I wish I *WERE* in Dixie Land...

  • @forskid Haha I'm not the only one that noticed then!

  • How Many know MY GREAT GREAT GRANDPA WAS A MISSOURI REBEL FROM LOUISIANA

  • @billybarber2167 mine is eating chips ,just studying law..

  • @oldhamburger Amen.

  • @oldhamburger

yes i agree but if that person was a black man you guys would hang him from a tree

  • @historyfan447 maybe depends how badly he pisses me off lol

  • everyone, this is a good song but you are all living in the past

  • @AGpixar2000 Actually, the Civil War has eveything to do with modern American politics. Literally.

  • Rebel scum i would like to slap each one of you yellow belly howling traitors to the glorious union and im off to wipe my mouth on that tea towl of a flag that only serves as a banner for cowards to gather round and see if they can out number any decent man that may venture in thier path, renounce your sorry ways now i say or like my hero of heros sherman ill drive dixie back into the putrid earth from wich it arose ,now back to that soiled piece of cotton im off to clean up.

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy I'm sure you'll be able to do that, if you could get off your couch, my hateful Yankee friend.

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy wow, ur cool (sarcasm)

  • @Mr.fatfatboy Boy, you really need to study up on your history. Sherman was the most disrespectful scumbag on the face of the earth. the south had there flaws but in all had a reason to rebel against the Union and it was not only because of slavery. The south was tired of being pushed around by the north and the outrages tariffs they received form the union. just like how U.S. received high tariffs before the american revolutionary war. think twice before you post ignorant crap like this online.

  • @topbot333 wow a man who knows his history well said sir ?

  • @topbot333 Sherman's an American hero. He took his men deep into enemy territory with no supply lines and made the South look like a bunch of pussies.

  • @bdf234 actually sherman did go without supply lines, but also with enough supplies to last for twice the length of his campaign. Duh. He said so in a letter to lincoln

  • The flaw is that not all southerners want to secede

  • @whitechocolate3333 They'll be enough of us to at least fill one state. Judging by Confederate video statistics, divide 1,600,000 YouTuber viewers + around 400,000 Non-YouTuber viewers, by the like/dislike ratio of 25/1, that would equal about 1,920,000 Southern supporters, take out the ones that don't want to secede/or are from other countries, that'd be about 1,500,000. Divide it by two in case some people see it multiple times, 750,000, Enough to fill SC. I think it's a good assumption.

  • Texas ain't the south, it's Texas. Now get the fuck out of my Union.

  • Rise again, friends.

  • Comment removed

  • huraaa wish i was too in south in dixie

  • down with slavery!!!!!!!

  • @lowtide90 Retard.

  • @lowtide90 Down with the Northern Tyrant Sic Semper Tyrannis!!!!!!!

  • @AUG351 Please leave. We have better things to do with our tax money than support your trailers.

  • @lowtide90 This has nothing to do with slavery. learn your history.

  • I love listening to the tone and timbre of this song as compared to Mickey Newbury's use of it combined with not only the Battle Hymn but also the folk song "All My Trials." That's what we are--all enmeshed, all in a strange brew, the South, the North, all of us. Long live the beautiful parts of the South! Thanks for posting this one--

  • Good song, from Arkansas!

  • Um, hey-Indiana

  • Your scottish bros will stand by for Dixie. :-)

  • Yihawwwww DIXIE, LONG LIVE THE SOUTH !!!

    A Friend from france ;)

  • Salutations from Greece to the great and TRADITIONAL EUROPEAN SOUTH OF THE US

  • @altstown the south didn't kick our ass we killed more damn Yankees than y'all did rednecks so really we kicked y'alls ass. The south fought 4 the right reason we werent gonna take anymore shit from the north so we rose up and fucked the north right up the ass. The north only won cause y'all had more weapons and more men

  • Ahahaha, the south lost.

  • Long live the south. From Sweden.

  • I don't give a shit about the history, I just like the song...

  • Damn I would love to have been there, shoulder to shoulder with my Scots-Irish Protestant brethern.

    God bless.

From the - White Anglo Saxon Protestants in Northern Ireland - ULSTER (Scots-Irish)

    Yeeee Hawwwwwww

  • Never was there an ass so thoroughly kicked. And you rebels deserved it. I don't give a shit what the war was about, the fact is human bondage ended in the USA, and you're side was against that. You have no morale standing, you have no argument.

  • @altstown hey dipshit quit bein an ass to a good half of the usa the damn yankees proffitted of slavery more than the south did the north bought the cotton at a loball price and sold it for double to england and other places like it

do us all a favor and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

    WE ARENT ALL REBELS!!

  • I just got a styerio and playing this through the speakers is just awesome

  • america wouldnt be america without the south

    plain and simple

  • Comment removed

  • @RedneckReplican It seems southerners and christians both fall short in understanding that things that lose and die do not live very long.

  • @RedneckReplican Actually Richmond, Virginia was the capital of the Confederate States, I that would be the heart of the Confederacy.

  • im from the south but i moved to pittsburgh PA. luckily, its only a little over an hour away from west virgina

  • I usually hate American people, but this is just wonderful, for fucking God's sakes!

  • Long live United States Greetings from Greece

  • Long live the South

  • Put that capitol back in Alabama. CSA <3

  • Long live the South!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!O,I wish I was in the land of cotton. The old times are not forgotten.Look away, look away, look away! You people say the south sucks but we have freedom, hillbillys, shotguns, family and if you think that's what everybody thinks America is then there wrong Long live South

  • Southern Pride Forever!!!! Send all the niggers North!!!!

  • the south will rise again one day. the niggers will be put back in their rightful places, working for me. and those who don't can become tree decorations. the south should have won the war if those mother fucking yanks had decided to let us succeed from this rotten and corrupt union. I love living in georgia its the best place in the world. the best thing in the world is that down south those niggars still fear us whites. white power you bitches.

  • @aeroncaman123 jesus i love this song but its slack jawed yokels who cant even spell properly who ruin it fool

  • Niggachomp your just sayin that because when we rise to power your black self will belong to us so get over yourself and prepair

  • give it up johnny Reb,, the ragheads are our problem.............

  • I love how this is a Confederate battle song, but was composed by a Northerner.

  • @Naggachomp I never said the south kicked the norths ass bit the south gave a hell of a fight. The south has a great school system cause I'm plenty smart. And I ain't poor I have a 3 story house. Sherman was a war criminal. He went through my state and raped our women, killed enocent people, looted and burned houses. 1 of my ancestors was a captain in 1 of the 40ths platoons and he probaly kill more yanks than ur whole family killed rednecks

  • @RedneckReplican yea redneck my ancestors faught in the war too and im tired of this nigga chomp guy because i can shoot a gnats eye at fifty yards, and he needs to stop talking about sherman because im from georgia and i have a 4.0 gradepoint average so i dont know who hes callin dumb

  • @kahhashim the south doesn't only have shotguns. I no people who have AKs and M4s and would love to put a bullet in ur ass. I do have shotguns but I also have rifles like a 30-30 and a pistol my great uncle pull off a dead German. And everybody knows a Yankee can't shoot as good as a southerner

  • @RedneckReplican too bad i dont have a shotgun,or aks, or m4,when we need it,we will get it,its just that i dont need to be youtube badass like you,you got a shotgun! fine, but you want to shoot yanks?WE WILL SEE.............

  • @Wolfen443 yeah that is true but the south was equal with weapons and men the south would've had a very high chance of wining

  • @RedneckReplican Sorry to burst your bubble, but the South didn't kick the Norths "ass". General Sherman stomped the South back into submission. And have you forgotten about the whole Reconstruction period? The South still hasn't recovered from the war. The proof of that being your poor living standards and horrible educational systems. If the South tried to rise again, General Sherman would also rise and put you bumpkins back in your place.

  • @RedneckReplican It's people like you that make me glad my ancestors fought in the war, and sent Southerners to their graves. The South lost and will never rise again!

  • You have done a wonderful job with this video! I'm from Minnesota, but also have a few southern roots.

  • Why would you want to live in some shitty ass no plumbing trailer married to your cousin?

  • @RedneckReplican my point is if you fight against washington you loose.your shotguns wont help when you got an ICBM aimed at your ass.

  • This song represents the period in which the BEST and the absolute WORST was brought out in Americans, North and South.

  • !!!GREAT - God bless the south - Michael, from Germany!!!

  • @kahhashim the north didn't kick our ass the south killed more Yankees than they did rednecks so If I were u I'd shut up before I jump through that screen and fuck u up

  • @RedneckReplican, yeah the South killed at least more 325,000 Yankees mostly by disease rather than bullets. The Confederate casualties were about the same but fewer, 300,000 give or take. Recenty the Civil War Magazine added another another 150,000 casualties to the offical tally for the first time adding in civilian casualties. Still the South (1,250,000 at best ) was short in ammunition and supplies to go on killing the 3 million plus Federal army anyhow.

  • Go south

  • @NRAdude That's not true, Both North Carolina and South Carolina and Virginia. Also Part of Florida was it's own Republic before being taken over by USA.

  • @AmzitheSoldier No they weren't Republics. First of all when Soouth Carolina seceded it simply seceded from the US and didn't necessarily constitute another country in terms of a government because no formal government was formed until Confederacy which in and of itself was not a Republic but a Confederation.

  • God save the south

  • I'm in 8th grade and one of the kids in my class always starts mumbling this song... xD

  • I,m Union but I like the song and and culture of the South.

  • Immer wenn ich auf klo muss...

  • Death to the rebels!!!!!!!

  • Long live the Confederate States of America and the brave heroes that died fighting for freedom against tyranny. Greetings from Greece

  • @UnreconstructedGreek Get a job and start paying your god damn taxes!

  • @Dines94 it is funny haow you are in a position to tell me what to do in my country but learn that it is easy to critisize a country that was under a corupted socialist goverment imposed by the EU. I can assure you that i am 18 and i am planing to get a job when i finish university but you could get a job aswell. I sujest you start on improving your countries weather and political orriantation and try not to coppy the Greek culture. Remember i wasent the one that started this.

  • akoma kai stin amerikaniki epanastasi vriskis ellines he pantou eimaste....

  • @Demonicalex117 ELLADARA eimaste pantou!!!!

  • @UnreconstructedGreek what tyranny? and if what your saying was true, they must've been pretty hypocritical to fight for freedom and to keep slaves at the same time.

  • @wallboyzx You have no Idea what you're talking about stop now. The war wasn't because of slavery.

  • @wallboyzx apparentlly you do not realize that Lincoln was the hypocritical when he abolished slavery in the South but he maintained it in the North. If you do not like the CSA dont watch or dont try to comment me by saying such things

  • @UnreconstructedGreek hooray from Greece!

  • @distefo18 Eλλαδαρα παντου μαγκες

  • @Tekilla7from7Rukahs Τι στο καλό??? Παντού ¨Ελληνες?????

  • I am from georgia and i can tell you im sure other southerners would agree. There is a diffrence between rednecks and southern ladies and gentlemen. I am tired of everyone making fun of the south because of stupid backwoods trash we have here.

  • @FastPonyGT

Didn't the CSA start shooting cannons at Fort Sumter?

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH They were attempting to oust federal forces from a Fort (fort Sumter) in their waters.

  • This was accually one of Abe Lincoln's favorite songs, which was also played after the surrender of the Confederacy. Even at that time, the Union knew that those from the land of Dixie where their brothers. Greetings to the beautiful South from the edge of the Frontier and wild West in Southern California

  • I find it funny that this was written by a man from Ohio.

    I like this song

from our typical Yankee from NY

  • heard this song in fallout 3

    its so CATCHY

  • @LewinKDigital the enclave radio has the yankee doodle song NOT dixie land...just so you know :p

  • @nickthepick120 watch?v=0d4R_5NewVk

  • Abraham Lincoln loved this song.

  • KidzBop version? What?!?

  • Though I was born a Yankee in Illinois, I've lived many years in the South, and have deep feelings towards the South.... I consider myself a Northern Rebel.

  • im a mexican born in california and i love this song

  • I don't give a shit about all the arguments below, I love this song and I'm your typical Yankee.

  • @rickneil01 hear hear up the confedirates we chased you fellas so far from fredricksburgh you aint stopped running yet you yankees phew

  • @rickneil01 Yeah these 180 year old themes are very catchy

  • @rickneil01 Did you know Dixie was one of Lincolns favorite songs.

  • The funny thing about this song is that before and even during the war this song was popular in both the North and South.

  • You don't know how many of us up north fell the same way.

  • @b1w1s121212 were living in a shithole because were wasting so much money on other countries like afganistand. But yes the mexicans need to stay out of our country and keep there drugs away from us

  • Born in Texas, raised in the Carolinas. This song brings a sense of pride, even though the Confederacy lost the war. Proud to be a Southerner!

  • I wish that I was down South. I was not born there, but I yearn for the simple, gracious traditions that flourished there. States Rights, King Cotton, and to hell with the Yankees!

  • Damn Niggers are stupid! All they do is deal dope and gangbang! GET A FUCKIN JOB!!!!

  • Plenty of states from outside the geographical "deep south" contributed soldiers to fight for Dixie. Texas being the biggest contributer, Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, Arkansas etc. But a typical soldier from say Georgia at the time wouldn't of considered a Texan to be a southerner. He would consider him to be a Texan, an outsider who he was grateful for the Texan's help. Texans contributed much to the war but were also a curiousity for true southern officers.

  • First of Texas isn't apart of Dixie or the deep south. Not to take away from the brave fighters from Texas that fought for the Confederacy, but don't get it confused. If you were to ask a plantation owning gentleman from Virginia if he thought the Texans fighting in his brigade were southerners he'd respond with a resounding "no". Texans were praised as brave outsiders to the typical confederate soldier, but from somewhere else none the less.

  • Im a proud texan and redneck

  • @greenberet900 Me too but the poster of this vid got it all wrong. Texans are Texans, not southerners. Texans had their own unique culture with an importance put on cattle, not niggers, like say a plantation owner from Mississippi. Texans didn't fight to keep their niggers because there weren't that many in Texas to begin with like the deep south states did. Texans fought to keep big brother out of their business with Mexico and Europe.

  • Im from England but I like this song... well i want to go to mississippi

  • People who comment on this page need to talk good about rednecks

  • Never forget the men who served on both sides. Northern or southern.

  • Proud to be a southerner from GEORGIA

  • A Georgian is an example of a true deep south southerner. States like Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana represent "Dixie". Other states that weren't considered southern also contributed men to fight for the south. States like Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Maryland, Kentucky, aren't really southern but fought bravely none the less for the south.

  • @kylemas2005 And of course, the traditions in each state were different too. The East Coast (Carolina;s, Virginia, Georgia) were the truly Southern states, with a decadent aristocracy. The more westerly states were younger, shoddy copies. Lousiana and Texas had a different culture to the rest of the South. The "backs-woods" states, consisting of yeomen, usually had the higher concentration of Union Suporters. Though lets not forget the republic of Winston...
