  • quarter squats I think. those are bad for your knees

  • @Obsidian1392 bullshit, according to people like you doing any kind of exercise will most certainly sheer your kneecaps off, god forbid doing back exercises or its good bye spine!!!

Enjoy your chair sits and typing reps pal.

  • @thegreathistorian7 hardly LOL. when you do a full squat the load of your weight is taken off of your knees by the hamstrings. if you squat this high it creates a sheer force against your knees. also a deep squat works your back plenty

  • @Obsidian1392 "creates a sheer force against your knees" Where did you read that? The Internet? You mean "shearing" youtube warrior. There is no evidence to suggest changing the ROM in squats does anything negative, I do everything from ATG to Anderson partials and all have their purposes.

If you perform an exercise incorrectly then you will cause anterior shearing. Irrelevant of what squat, in fact rereading what you have put leads me to think you have no clue what the fuck your on about.

  • @Obsidian1392 and also In fact on your video you just manage 105 x 4, and here I am competing at a regional level on track for a back squat of 180- 200 @ 75kg with a half squat of 220 and yes I know nothing. And I must learn from your Almighty wisdom O' 2 plate squatter. Read what I put and get back to the gym , your tekkers is great, but in powerliftiing for example parallel is fine Olympic lifting full ROM is ideal. Learn context before lecturing people who lift significantly more than you.

  • @thegreathistorian7 LOL bro did you seriously go to look at my videos because you lack the knowledge for a rebuttal? How long ago was that 105 posted? Barely managed? For someone who competes you sure don't know what pushing your limits looks like. You you squatting 180 is a homo argument against the sheer force a partial squat creates against the knee. Learn your shit before trying to sound like a big man and if you're stumped (as I'm sure you are many a time) just keep quiet and go read some.

  • @thegreathistorian7 hey again dick head. youtube warrior? Am I trying to act hard or do I talk about my squats? You're the one talking shit about how you 'compete at the regional level' LOL. All that high, high, high level competition has gone to your head son. On the internet? You know where I read it? In the Starting Strength 2nd edition book. You've heard of a highly respected, famous strength coach called mark rippetoe? No? I'm not surprised if you're doing quarter squats, dickweed.

  • @Obsidian1392 so your a douchebag who not only can use google but thinks he is a fucking know it all cos he owns starting strength? I Also own that and all variations of wendlers 5/3/1 and hundreds of other books on strength and powerlifting but that doesn't make me go onto vids like you and spout copy and pasted google shit and think some how is a king. Seriously you lift shit and you talk it. Half squatting of performed correctly is fine what about strongman? Is Yoke pickup bad too?

  • @Obsidian1392 basically you have not got a fucking clue. Now take your criticisms of people lifting much bigger weights that you tiny man and leave, better still go and do some Anderson half squats and condition you shitty frame for lifting anything over 2 x your own bodyweight. Oh wait Paul fucking Anderson and Bud Jeffries (pick up a copy of how to squat 900lbs) knows fuck all compared with the almighty Obsidian1392. Fuck off mate your embarrassing.

  • @thegreathistorian7 LOL what a fucking idiot. I've explained to you why partial squats are bad for the knees and your only argument is 'I SKWOT LITTLE BIT MORE'. I get the feeling you don't even understand what sheer force is LOL. Tiny man? You squat about 40kg more than my current 1rm for low bar squats (and I squat high bar now) and you've got the nerve to think you're strong? rofl. I'm not your mate you twat. Explain how what I said about sheer forces is wrong or gtfo pussy trying to act hard

  • @Obsidian1392 its "shearing force" you massive derp. Anterior shear can be caused by many exercises if not performed PROPERLY including half squats. Partials have been used by paul anderson. Bud jefferies and many many more strongmen and powerlifters, for example, In strongman they train for yoke pick up by literally unracking the bar and that's it..... (IN TWO PARTS DERP)

  • @Obsidian1392 (PART TWO SMALL MAN)....... I asked this of you earlier and you did not reply, Ive also posted other replies to your other posts but you are too much of a pussy to answer. Ive already told you why you are wrong and how you need to stop google farting things onto youtube. Im merely repeating myself, but as I have expected you have fuck all to say of any worth. Now click the "see all" tab and look through what has been said carefully.

    Typical keyboard warrior.

  • @Obsidian1392 I googled it LOL. Page 11, Starting Strength 2nd edition. Go have a read and educate yourself, son. I don't know how to make it any simpler for your dumbass self other than the knees take most of your weight in between a full squat and a fully standing position. What don't you comprehend? How do I make this more retard-accessable? Dumbass who thinks a 180kg squat is impressive LOL.

  • @Obsidian1392 and also the reference was not to my squat, it was to your critique of people on this vid, your blind arrogance that you think you know more than people like Paul Anderson,Bud geffories and elite strongmen and powerlifters because you copy and pasted a google turd from a level 1 CrossFit Coach (yes ive seen the exact quote) please stop embarrassing yourself, by the looks of your channel you go around google shitting on video's of lifts while lifting fuck all yourself. Now fuck off.

  • @thegreathistorian7 LOLOL what a homo. It's not my opinion I made up I like to do this thing called research. Rippetoe a level 1 crossfit coach? Are you a fucking moron? In what way is rippetoe affiliated with crossfit? Who's the arrogant one? You're trying to put down someone who's been coaching longer than you've been alive (I hope so, if you're over 30 you're one sad motherfucker). give me a fucking reason why the points about sheer force aren't true other than 'SOME STRONG GUYS DO THEM'.

  • @thegreathistorian7 here's an exact quote so you can't be a pussyhole and pick me up on details: In a partial squat, which fails to provide a full stretch for the hamstrings, most of the force against the tibia is upward and forward, from the quadriceps and their attachement to the front of the tibia below the knee. This produces an anterior shear, a forward-directed sliding force, on the knee...'. In dumbass the weight isn't passed onto the hamstrings and is supported by the knees. suck it

  • @Obsidian1392 yeah like I say your a douchbag who can barely do over 225lb and have typed into google "is half squats bad for you" and copy and pasted the first thing that he can find. Lift for a few years and then come back to me son.

  • @thegreathistorian7 wow you're dumb as FUCK BUBBA. I told you exactly where I got this from: the starting strength book. I take it you've never heard of rippetoe? been coaching more than 30 years and lifting more than 40. but what would he know when we've got a someone competing at the REGIONAL LEVEL! go write a book with your highly impressive 180kg squats. Do you deadlift a mighty 210kg as well, you knob? You don't actually have anything to argue against my argument you just cry about how

  • @Obsidian1392 Its not my opinion its the opinion of people who squat over 1000lbs, stop google shitting and sucking of mark ripptoe lifting is not all about starting strength as the guys at EliteFTS will tell you its not the fucking holy grail, for example rippetoe teaching a shocking squat technique which leads to a squat morning- watch "So you think you can squat?" by elite FTS for a proper squat boyo.

  • @thegreathistorian7 OH MAN lollll you're too fucking funny. in all of these posts you haven't given a fucking reason. You don't even understand the reasoning behind their partial squats so you have no fucking basis for using them as an example. You're the one sucking people off. I give rippetoe as an example because I'm not too fucktarded to understand his REASONING. I don't just watch powerlifting vids and copy them. Learn shit and give me a fucking reason why the knees don't take the load.

  • @Obsidian1392 Ive given many reasons for parallel and above squats you derp, do you want me to list them again so you can stop crying? Mark even says "If its too heavy to squat below parallel its too heavy to hold on your back" But i dont take that as the fucking holy grail do I? Other wise Id skip all the lifts I hit parallel in competition because quote ripp "its too heavy to have on my back".

There is no Scientific study to show than GOOD form in half and parallel is bad for you.

  • @Obsidian1392 and I own it lol, what Mark fails to recognize is every single competitive powerlifter in the world only has to squat to parrallel. He goes on to say how Olympic lifterrs squat deep everyday and look no shearing!!! But strongmen and powerlifters can train every day and never go below parallel and look no shearing!!! Leg extensions can cause anterior shearing as can alot of movements if you do them INCORRECTLY. Bud jeoffories regularly trains over 900lbs half squats, no shear.

  • @thegreathistorian7 oh my god who the fuck have i been arguing with all this time? Did I talk about a powerlifting legal squat or was I talking about half and quarter squats? Why do you even fucking post? You say I'm embarrassing myself (in front of who, btw ? you? LOL) but if anyone saw this retarded attempt at an argument you would get laughed at. forreal. are we also talking about guys who wrap the fuck out of their knees? OMG gtfo idiot. go and wank over more powerlifting articles

  • @Obsidian1392 "parallel and above" is what I said.

haha so you think knee wraps are bad for your knees now?? Hhahahaha well lets just say well done to you Obsidian waving your copy of SS and wanking off to CrossFit articles, well done, because you clearly know more than all the powerlifting federations and competitive strongmen around the world, why don't you go and tell them to stop doing quarter squats for their yoke pickup almighty Malachi? " Obsidian here don't sheer (shear) your knees!"

  • Good job guys. :)
