And holy was that fish huge! i have never caught a fish close to that before and no ts not because im a girl but im not giving personal info but i live about 2 ,3 hours away from diefenbake and when i went on a house boat i caught 6 fish :)

ok little bit of fact here these are gerrard stock rainbows escaped into definbaker(sorry abt the spelling) this strain of trout are natural to kootany lake bc they r the largest of the rainbows,not sea run. they have all but one of the last 4 world records 4 rainbow trout they r planted all over the world now but olny reach this size in waters containing the proper size bait fish 6-10", how ever these tubbies on the vid fight poorly in comparison to there wild cousins i have clocked at 10 mph

Those fish are freaks. Escapee triploids. Diefenbaker is done. They die of old age any time now and it's back to normal. Can't brag about size when whole situation is contrived and entirely artificial. Might as well give it a 20lb implant too! This is cheating for the weak willed. Go and catch some nice healthy wild fish. Plenty of nice big natural trout all over the place. Catching these is like fighting an 800lb man. So fat and unfit he just dies of exhaustion thinking about what to do.

and thats from a state were 80% of the people don't even know there are trout.

Stream trout are longer , lake versions fatter.

They began displacing native fish species, but no one really cared since everyone was catching big rainbows. Only now have the native fish reclaimed their waters. The fact that these trout were farm raised and fed artificial diets can probably explain their unusually large size
