It's a dangerous crossing which should be shut or grade-separated. There's not enough room for a vehicle to be clear of both the crossing and the intersection.
The Hospital Inn crossing on Brindle Road, Bamber Bridge has the same problem. At least that one has someone watching it on CCTV, so hopefully if there is a lorry or trailer on the crossing the train will be held until the vehicle is out and the crossing clear. Still dangerous, and ought to be grade-separated.
Those paramedics weren't mounting the train with the proper 3 points of contact as regulated by the FRA and OSHA. Set the bag down, grab a handrail with each hand, put a foot on the platform and enter the train.
It was not a new driver! I drive for that company. He just got stuck and was not distracted. That is a dangerous intersection for us because people do not realize we cannot stop on both sides of the tracks. The trucks have to roll through the stop signs because we cannot stop without being on the track after the stop before the tracks!
ok. it looks like the train is bleeding. lol i had to point that out.
