lol hornballs. the developers who made this game threw in so many little extras, it made this game feel so much different than any game today. I remember the thing called benchmark where you could randomly flip a car on a rock. what was that for?

Well, you don't need the CD, there is a site that lets you download it, and play it without the CD. But having the CD is pretty cool!

And this is the only pre-2000 game i still play nowdays, along with Re-Volt, Viper Racing is a sacred monster of a game.

Yep it came out sometime in 1998 and i got it in 1999. I think it was advanced for its time, like Half-life.

I got the dayton to hit 600 mph on the drag track. I can hit 400 without crashing in dayton and castlegreen, I love that car. I also like the warhead, good for making huge powerslides, takes time to get good at it though.

Nope, Viper Racing is for PC. You have to be running at least Windows 95 with DirectX 6, but Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/Vista works as well. I also have succeeded in getting it to run in Linux using WINE once before.

Compatibility Mode for Windows 98 to install, then go to vrgt dot com and download the 1.23 beta patch, which makes it work in 2000/XP/Vista without needing Compatibility mode.

go to vrgt and get the VRGT Demo. It fixes a couple things and gives you the ability to play everything in VRGT. You still got to "find" the game to play all the origional tracks. But just get the VRGT Demo, you won't be pleased.
