  • Stones with Axl and Izzy is an awesome formation.

  • People need to let the past go. AxL is still welling out arenas everywhere with Stinson n co. Izzy left cause Slash n Diff were constantly on drugs not because of AxL. The _VH1 behind the music totally gives Steven n Slash the sympathy vote. Stevens playing turned Shit after Lies. he almost killed AXLS then wife by shooting her up with a speedball. Slash was a bigger part of Guns, he helped create Estranged n November rain. Adler sucks so does sorum. josh freezer best GNR drummer

  • Axl simply fascinated by money, you lose your friends including izzy and all others!

  • wow- Axl back when he could still sing.. and GnR's Secret Weapon: Izzy! GREAT Stones song!

  • Axl's voice deteriorated in 1992, it was at its best in 1989, and maybe 1987, not so much 1988

  • axel does his dance with the stones. how cute

  • when axl had more control of his voice

  • thats the axl we all miss

  • after this, guns started using piano on stage (dizzy) and background singers on the use your illusion tour. they were very heavily influenced by the stones.

  • Wonderful show! Immortal.

  • i was at this show....nice to see it again !

  • when he started to sing axl got the biggest applause

  • The serpentine sznsihns

  • Axl's got MOJO..... Big time!!!!

  • This is wonderful.... ^_^

  • goood ))))))))) like )))

  • I love this song..and I love the guns....!!!

  • Yeah..!! Great moves

  • I wish I was there! Axl is a genious!

  • this video IS the salt of the earth... Keef starts this song like his life depended on it... and when Axl starts to sing... OMG!!! one of the greatest performance in the history of RNR...

  • Jagger and Axle sound great together. (btw, like all great bands like GnR... the sum is greater than the parts)

  • se me puso la piel de gallina

  • date & venue of this gig?

  • it was actually mostly axl. izzy helped a little. but axl wrote 90% of the material (lyrics)

  • AXL = GNR

  • amazing that all of them are still alive

  • axl control all the moment

  • It's ironic that Axl sang this song

  • damn axl sounds good here..

  • when was the gig?

  • @The12Child 1989

  • Axl does better that Mick !! Sorry Rolling stones !!

  • Im sorry but Axl owned everyone.. even though its not even his concert.

  • axl just has the better voice and moves:)

  • deutschland

  • 2 dislikes? fuck you!

  • that's why i love America

  • mick shoulda bowed at 1:00.

  • You could tell Axl was a lot more enthusiastic and had so much feeling back in the day, wish i was alive to see this.

  • What the fuck did Keith say ????

The "Axl Slide" kicks ass !!!

  • What the fuck did Keith say ????

  • Comment removed

  • lol so true axl rose was the mike tyson of frontmen... go on stage with him he will knock you out

  • :).....

  • that sounds kool.i think i might check it out lol thnx again

    and cheers to u too

  • Axl at his peak!

  • keiths voice is the one that made me jizz...premature some would say..oh and by the way axl i bet you wernt late for this and i bet you didnt think of jumping of the stage

  • axl was trying to hold himself back so that he didn't blow his doors off.

  • AXL RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great concert.

  • This is sooooo cool

  • what year is this????

  • @sasafraz11 december 17th 1989

  • @loknloll thank u

  • @sasafraz11 no problem. i've got the unauthorized biography of the band here. it's pretty accurate, especially with show dates. it's been cool checking things out on youtube, as i read about them in the book! it's called Watch You Bleed, if you're interested. i'm a fan, so it's a fun book.... just thought i'd help you out, as it was right in front of me. cheers

  • @loknloll and where ?

  • @huzza18 i'd have to grab the book again, but i think it's madison square garden in NY. a few months prior to this, they'd opened 2 nights for the stones in los angeles, at the forum. it was a mess - axl was almost a no show, guns hadn't seen each other in months, axl explained to the entire crowd the first night that slash was a junkie and killing the band. but mick asked him to come out and sing a song or two with Izzy in NY....

  • keith is a better guitarist than izzy.

  • @kernelflack maybe than izzy but i think izzy is better...but slash is the best in the world...keith is a little child for slash ;)

  • @kernelflack Hell no man u can't compare the two Izzy has a big influence from Keith but he is more rock than Keith is

  • Axel WAS the shit. Haven't seen anyone close to his caliber since.....I always thought GnR and Stones ran neck and neck til GnR blew their wad.

  • jajaja el baile de axl terribleee!!!

  • axl roses the best!!!

  • Anybody have a MP3 of this? I have not been able to find a MP3 recording of it anywhere.

  • @jacquin40 google converting youtube videos to mp3

  • Axl tiene la misma campera que aparece en el videoclip de patience! en el momento cuando rompe el telefono!

  • It's not ironic, if axl said he would never sing with the stones and then he went and sung with them then that'd be ironic... whether guns n roses covered a song of the rolling stone's or not has nothing to do with it.

  • miss the good Axl so much. great song . would love to hear axl do that song in the studio .

  • i think it's ironic that they did this, considering gnr covered sympothy for the devil by the stones only a few years after this

  • @adamstakeonlife Not really ironic; they just obviously liked the Rolling Stones.

  • @GuitarManMilaneus i know, i thought it sounded as though i was smarter, and sounded better

  • Hmmm let's see.. what can I say about this ummm....I wish I was there.

  • Mick has been doing this for 50 years. Axl is like a fly on his crap

  • Axl Rose is the man !!

  • Nice video, keep it up. Watch for new release from BRANDON JAROD late OCT. 2010 AWESOME!

  • vaya panda de cracks toke genial a axel rose da gusto escuxarlo y mas n directo cn sus pasos q le dan sese toque especial

  • by the end i bet jagger wanted axl to get off the stage :P

    jealous mick?

    although they both rock!!

  • Mick Jagger, here, has had some of the 60's, the whole of the 70's and most of the 80's to perfect his stage craft, and a young Axl Rose just strolls on stage after a few years with GNR and takes the piss. Axl in his heyday would've ruined every frontman ever, and that includes Mr Morrison

  • @onepinkrose still does!

  • Use to have video of this concert. Wish I coud find again. Anyone?

  • To me Izzy was the coolest gun..

Maybe Slash is the guy people talk about, but Izzy is the one they should talk about..

Guns N Roses would never had been the same without Slash, but they would never had been without Izzy..

And who wrote all there good songs? IZZY & AXL that's who

  • @madboytomson Amen to that

  • @madboytomson It was more Izzy/Duff I think

  • @freaknbigpanda IZZY & AXL wrote most the songs buddy..

Take at look inside the covers of the Use Your Illusion albums, that's proof..

And everybody says that Axl and Izzy wrote the songs for Appetite For Destruction, but the cover says all sons written by Guns N Roses..

IZZY & AXL wrote the good lyrics

  • @HighInTheHead axl and izzy were the chief "composers" but slash wrote a helluva lot of riffs like jungle, paradise city, sweet child, locomotive, coma, garden of eden, and more. i would call gnr songwriting a three headed beast with axl, izzy and slash.

  • @madboytomson my favorite songs were by slash, then izzy. I agree that izzy was extremely badass and probably the biggest reason guns got to where they were. Key word there is were, i wouldn't even relate the new gn'r to the old gn'r

  • @madboytomson Tottaly agree man ! That´s what I always say... After Izzy´s departure, guns´n roses got lost... He wrote all the good songs and classic riffs !

  • @yadek8 thats right!!!

it would be easy'er replacing keith in the stones, then replacing izzy in guns..

  • @yadek8 Don't know how Izzy wrote all their good songas when Axl wrote all their lyrics. Slash says so in an interview on here, just type in ''Duff and Slash 88'' and click on top video and watch Slash clearly state this. It was Izzy and Axl that wrote the songs, they both together were the chief song writers

  • @onepinkrose : yes man, you´re right, I tried to say the same, but with less words... They did It all together, axl and Izzy... I was trying to say that the band lost a lot of their spirit without izzy presence.

Thanx for the talking, long live guns ´roses !

  • @onepinkrose slash and izzy diddent write, they jammed to look for an great music. later axl wrote the lyrics on what izzy and slash made

  • @isaldore Axl wrote music too, Izzy wrote the lyrics to Mr Brownstone, Duff helped with the lyrics of Nightrain, so everyone wrote everything

  • This is priceless. <3

Axl's voice is so powerful here. Jagger's too though. :F

  • This represents why Guns N Roses were so great, Axl and Slash, had they stayed together, could've taken the world over for forever. But I'm just thankful we got what we did out of them, they were too fucking good to all be together, we were blessed to have them.

  • ummm.. Outstaged?

  • Truly epic moment.

  • @rocknrollforever10 totally

  • The great masters of rock.

thanks Rolling stones by having influenced the guns and roses with its music rock.

    live music rock for ever¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • This is one of the best performances Axl has ever done. Everybody heard the crowd when he started singing. Amazing.

  • 1:00 Axl won

  • Weather you like Guns n' Roses or not you have to admit this was a great performance. GnR were so big at the time no other band of the peers ever made it like this. At this point in time when this happened Guns n Roses were on top of the world. It did not get bigger then this.

  • Talk about a dream come true for Axl and Izzy!

  • Axl Rose and Mick Jagger on the same stage! If you think Axl sucks, well if he is aloud to be on the same stage as the Rolling Stones, that say's something. I also think Axl was better than Mick on this one. I wonder why Guns never covered this song, Axl sound perfect for this song.

  • All those that think Axl Rose was over-rated blah blah. Take a look! This is in the 80's. And Mick Jagger is an established frontman of one magical rock n' roll band. And Axl commands the stage. And there's only one fella holding the notes at the end, and it ain't Mick. Axl is in his early-mid 20's here. Check out Keith at the end of the song standing behind Mick n Axl. He knows Axl gave Mick a good run for his money. I love both bands, but to walk on stage and sing with Jagger and the Stones!

  • oooh God i wish for this days to come back :((

  • i really miss those days of pure rock!! fuckin awesome!!!

  • This is just perfect and amazing !

Never heard Axl's voice this good before, but this blew me away !

  • Axl won 100%

  • God! What they do with music, with our mind, hearts, souls! it's fantastic!

  • its as if jagger forgot what band axl + izzy were from... "axl and izzy from umm... .... ... guns n roses?" :P

  • This is fucking great! Axl's voice sounds so perfect when he starts to sing, Jagger should just bow at that moment... also the Stones are great too!!

  • I´m sorry Mr Jagger....Axl wins

  • I love this song. Keith singing it is awesome, his voice is very moving. Axl is brilliant and very confident sharing the stage with Jagger.

  • when Axl starts singing, he just blows the stones away, always Mick is fucking great!

  • Crazy times...

  • amazing!!! i love how the crowed reacts when axl starts singing :)

  • Shiiiittt... Axl was pretty killer here.

  • i love the way the look that axl walk in the stage so confident

  • haha thats awesome

  • There Was A Time...

  • the song is only good when axl rose is singing

  • Axl sang better Mick in this show

  • OMG Axl got an amaaazing voice in this video! :D Love these guys!

  • great!...i love axl's voice

  • when was this?

  • @RosarioNahu i think 1990

  • alto video, aguante axel

    ~ 79

  • wow holy shit that was a great performance (Y)

  • getting outstaged at your own gig must be pretty embarassing

  • fantastic *.*

  • puoi dirlo forte ! ;)

  • that's right, Jagger didn't remember it was one of their songs!

  • Gotta love axl's dance moves!

  • axl rose and izzy rock!!

  • mick is so cool

  • Axl Rose the fucking best

  • This is so fantastic to see Izzy and Axl together with Rolling Stones. To me, Axl and Izzy were the heart and soul of Guns to keep it going back in the days.

  • Axl wasn't sceaming. He just raised his voice a little at the end of the song to bring the song out. He didn't over sing Mick at all.

  • wow

  • Hah... When Rolling Stones asked them what song they wanna play and Axl n' Izzy said "Salt of the Earth" they asked what song is that haha... But it came out magically, for sure.

  • genial, en que año fue ?

  • 89, creo

  • rock lesson tonight

  • OMG! AXL WAS ON TIME! naaa but seriously, my god he is on form!

  • Legends *-*

  • rolling stones and gnr...two different styles but both LEGENDS

  • yes

  • goose bumps when axl starts singing pure magic

  • Holy shit, Axl's voice was darn awesome ! Yeah, Izzy !

  • This distinctly rare as audio recordings go ..very cool though

  • I love both bands, Jagger is one of the all time great frontmans, but no one should ever share a stage with Axl in the late eighties. Your going to get smoked

  • @trulysarcastic yeah, but really, Mick does better with black folks...he's on his pseudo macho shtick here...

  • Axl Rose at the peak of his power. Even a God like Mick Jagger looks almost average going head to head with Axl.

  • @masterdeviance1985 You can't get a better rip than this! And afterward, Mick Jagger sorta apologizes, "...we never did this live before.." It was a hot, vital, great performance, one of the best I've ever seen, thx YT

  • @masterdeviance1985 the stones exile on main street buttfucks every gnr album EVER...ask that shit t duff, izzy and axl

  • @masterdeviance1985

get serious,he did good but that's all

  • @masterdeviance1985

get serious,he did good but that's all

  • axl at his best!!!!! damn sexy man

  • he pretty muchly upstaged the old mick

  • gotta do the axl dance , I tought my 3 y/old. I recorded this on pay per view original, i cant find it, its cool someone posted it. 1988 or something> when was this?

  • 1989 m8,i just read about it 2day

  • axel roses looks better than times

  • i would be gay for Axl, great compositor, great singer, best frontman, a fucking legend with an awesome jacket <333!

  • ure crazy :d

  • this is so awesome, legends together!

    love axl's jacket <3

  • izzy rulez!! i'm a big fan of izzy!!!

  • this was axl rose at his peek! there was a point when he was the man...before he lost his marbles his ego went thru the roof and he made to much money to quick and lost everything about him that got him to this point

  • wow...thanks for the upload.cool stuff.Axl was a force of nature back then.

  • what year was this performance?

  • most likely '88-'89

  • Plus I remember when Axl and crew were catching hell for 1 in a million, Jagger came out publicly and stood by GNR!

  • I remember when GNR exploded on the scene, Appetite was fucking crazy. GNR was to become our generations Rolling Stones. Then Axl went off the fuckin deep end, really like Democracy and dont wanna open up old bullshit, but had Slash and Izzy been with him that cd would have smoked everything. What happened to when the music mattered.

  • @6GUNSOUTH Gilby Clarke came, that's what happened, and Paul Tobias

  • No one will ever come close to Axl, just no one

  • you are right!!!

  • you fucking right! :)
