  • A lil heavy on the lingo for an intro video, but its helping me get my start. Also you didn't mention material example: bamboo vs. plastic.

  • Man ive been looking on youtube for like 2 days to learn about longboarding, and seriously, this one vid has more info than like 70 others. Why didnt i look at this in the first place!!

  • The Z Boys are the OG longboarders! Yes, watch Lords of Dogtown! :D

  • -___- why cant i ever find a girl like this who knows their shit about skating and who skates....maybe its cause im in the USA.....

  • Hey, what kind of board would you recommend for huge hills, sliding and basic tricks?

  • @Longboardteen Comet Grease Hammer/ Comet Grease Shark Check my channel to see vids of me skating a hammer if you want to get an idea of what you can do on one of these decks

  • thanks, now i know how to choose the right skateboard

  • what kind of board would you recommend for someone just starting out. not sure what i prefer board-wise (ie flex, rigidness, concave….etc) but i surf occasionally if that makes a difference? thanks :) x

  • @3vans2011 I would recommend an ethos 37. It has a single kick and you can whip it around like a surfboard with the single kick and get a lot more of a surfboard feel. Especially if you get into sliding

  • i have a question i don't understand you at the and are you like Bones or Not ? and i have a Jucka Hawaii Board is this an Allrounder ?

  • search "I LOVE DH NY GP 2012"

  • I like toitles

  • What does it mean when someone says there board is loaded?

  • @TheGnos23 loaded is one of the biggest brands

  • @TheGnos23 loaded is a company that makes longboards. People need to start researching.

  • I meant skateboarding not keyboarding. I have auto spell.

  • At the moment I have a skateboard. But I tried keyboarding but it really wasn't My thing. I'm trying to get a longboard for My birthday.

  • All the information was dead on in accuracy. Excellent job!

  • CHEERS! (^-^)

  • what board do you use?!?

  • Eh. I'll stick to skateboarding.

  • nice vid. im fairly new to LB and was wondering why i could never slide with my setup. now i kno ;)

  • Haha good vid

I like how u told people to watch lords of dogtown and people you should

  • landyachtz bamboo pinner

    landyachtz bamboo totem

    or

    landyachtz battle axe?

  • @Predator2169 for what ride discipline? carving/cruising? freeride? downhill?

  • @darklightning539 cruising being that these are all cruising boards

  • @Predator2169 haha whichever you want. im just saying you can even use cruising boards to freeride and DH so i didnt know what you were aiming for. i personally would choose the battle axe though. it looks like buckets of fun

  • @darklightning539 i was thinking the same but i only wanted a deck and price wise the totem's the cheapest

  • i love Lords of Dogtown!

  • I'm in love with you. Come to Colorado and ride with me!!!

  • if you want the very best bearings for the price, get Seismic Tektons. Mischo Erban, professional downhill skateboarder and world champion broke the world speed record on a longboard downhill untowed, and he was riding Seismic Tekton bearings and Seismic Speed Vent wheels. also, as for the most reliable downhill trucks, Gunmetal Trucks, Gullwing, Bear, or any precision-cut trucks are going to be amazing. however, precision trucks are far more expensive, so Gunmetal would be my first pick.

  • 86a are suuuper icy wheels for me, they slip around like nothing. in my opinion, you are a good, well learned freerider if you can smoothly ride and slide a very soft wheel with steeze. also, softer wheels are going to be MUCH quiter than loud wheels, especially if the wheel shape is rounded off on the sides (this is called a rounded lip). it'll give you a much easier time breaking traction. ride safe kids!!

  • i personally wouldn't downhill on Paris trucks (unless maybe a 180mm or wider hangar) or Gullwing Sidewinders (instability). furthermore, i wouldn't use Gunmetal trucks for freestyle because they're so heavy. as for Original trucks, i wouldn't use them at all because they suck and the owner of Original says "f*ck skateboarding, i longboard" and "skateboarding sucks, longboard for life." listen, beginners!! only ride a company's product if they don't hate and because you LOVE it

  • is Urban Blue a good and trusted brand?

  • 9,999*

  • Your a bad idea....

  • REALLY I GIVE YOU A KISS I AM FROM PUERTO RICO IF YOU TRAVEL TO HERE I GIVE YOU A TOUR FREE OF CHARGE HERE ARE PLACES TO DO EVERYTHING GIRLS LIKE YOU MAKE ME HAPPY LONGBOARDING 4 LIFE RIDE SAFE WEAR YOUR HELMETS !!!

  • This video has a lot of misleading information and a lot of things were generalized/sterotyped.

Examples: There are factors such as the core size, depth of the urethane, core placement, shape of the lips, height and contact patch that matter a lot more than durometer, Freeriding isnt a combo of everything it is a combo of Sliding and Downhill, At least a little bit of concave is useful for any type of riding at all, Most importantly LONGBOARDING = SKATEBOARDING

    Overall good video though.

  • i love to longboard

  • What longboard do u recommend if i only want to cruise with it and carve idnt think ill be doing downhill. Im a beginner... More like never-longboarded-before haha but that its under 150$, i know u said its not a cheap sport but i ran outta money lol ive been looking the pintails from GoldCoast or S9 ehich brand is the best??

  • That was a really good video. You seemed to have planed it very well, it gave tons of info, and was just overall very helpful. Thanks tons!

  • @SuperMstt yes, i would reccomend the earthwing superglider

  • WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE

  • @LongboardUK is 40 size longboard ok for like normal cruising after school not alot of hills im 14 and 160 cm tall please answer

  • What size wheels would be right for a wolfshark ??

    :)

  • Hi I'm thinking about getting a Stella blunt nose board. I'm a beginner and mainly want to cruise and carve. Would this longboard be ok? Tks!

  • Brilliant Video. Thank you you have helped so0 much! clear, concise, and to the point :D

there needs to be more videos like this out there!

  • Wondefull intro up until the end. Bones bearings are only good as long as you get swiss. chinese bearings are literally all the same with different shields. I read an article that was written by a man who worked in a factory that produced bones bearings. The abec rating also means almost nothing. Unless you plan on putting somewhere around 500 pounds on a longboard it will not affect the bearing. To sum up if you plan on getting bones reds, you may as well get your local shops bearings.

  • Hi, I've a longboard that's not stable at all! Like, I can't going down a hill with a good velocity with out crashing. I'm seraching for longboards that can be fast and stable in great speed... would you recomend one for me??? thanks

  • @LongboardUK so im a beginner and i really want a board that's kinda fast, stable, and turns easily. kinda want a longboard for cruising. do you have anything you can recommend?

  • Hey, I want a longboard for easier transit between classes at my university and have never used a longboard before. I have all winter break to learn, so what size deck and what company do you recomend???

  • Comment removed

  • what are the wheel sizes i couldnt hear

  • hey if you could possibly answer this i want to start lonboardin as my first time and dint reallly know which complete board i would like to get, i want to carve to bein with then as i progress get a diff one, which board, by sector 9 or original skateboards(pintail) would you recommend it would be greatly appreaciated

  • Nice intro

  • this is a great video, keep up the good work, thank you for my furthering my knowledge, and understanding of the great sport of longboarding, what would you recommend as a lower cost board, for a hilly area, in the spirit of cruising?

  • The only thing that annoy's me is that you aren't specific in board size. If I tell you that I need a long board for you can could be 40ish for me maybe 50". In other words your not giving any useful info if it comes to length of the board.

  • Do longboards have much speed wobble??

  • @bodeys1 depends on the board. Im guessing the one thats lower to the ground will have more downforce and wobble less.

  • Thanks really helpful

  • What is a good board for a hilly campus? I love the video btw.

  • Would a loaded bhangra be good for a little bit of everything? I'm just not sure what I want to focus on yet.. But I'm leaning more towards dancing and sliding.. Help please.

  • Hi i was looking at a smaller board good for tricks.. The tan tien looks good but people say the BC moray is like the same thing for less. What is your opinion (also i like the dk penguinn but it would be my first long board and would take forever to get to my house

  • can you wear a bikini and longboard along some beaches? :/ pretty pweaseeee!

  • will you marry me?

  • Is the arbor gt pin longboard good to cruise with??

  • I wanna do longboard in uni for transporting. should i get a short one or long one? i am a beginer.

  • @thomasjiyuntang i'd get a short one, because it is easier to carry if you have to, and more agile, and quick! :)

  • Great help a lot.

  • she said bones that got me sold lol . that was a awesome video yep

  • Hey i wanna buy a longboard what do you recommend basically i want something to ride arround town with i want something that wont have speed wobbles when going down a big hill but also something that when i'm just fooling arround in a parking lot i can do nollie shoves and maby some powerslides. what do you recomend?

  • @armydude3317 take a look at these boards: Rayne vendetta. Landyachtz 9two5, dropspeed and switchblade. new loaded downhill board coming out. new original beast. kebbek john barnet

  • 5:21 ETHAN COCHARD!

  • Hey im 15 and about 110 lbs i would like to probably do carving or cruising. What do you recomend?

  • @LongboardUK Hello there, I should start saying I love your videos... great... Well i need some advice.. I'm 18 years old and 155 pounds, 71kg. I live in an extremely chaotic city and i LOVE cruising around the city and also i would like to go really fast around it . Just chill around the city, skating and have the time to look around... I want to get a 35" longboard, sector 9. so heres my question... what do you think about it? is it good?

I really like it because its short and goes fast

  • hey im 15 and im bout 120130 pounds and a size 9 shoes..what kind of longboard should i get? im a beginner and i want to do cruising carving and sliding

  • hey im13 and i want a longboard i mainly want it for cruising and has to be reasonably price do you have any reccomendations? thanks

  • I am 15 year old 130 pounds and lives in a city, im trying to find a longboard for cruising.

  • hey im 17 years old, 180 - 190 pounds and live in the city and i really want to get into longboarding. i already know how to skateboard. what do you recommend?

  • @DATkidxlilDRE hey, you need to give me more details on what you want to do with the longboard.. e.g. cruising, tricks, sliding etc. :P

  • @LongboardUK ok no problem. i want a board mainly for cruising with some tricks like shovits or other tricks you showed in your trick tips videos.

  • @LongboardUK hey yeah sorry. i want to cruise mostly because i live in the city but with some basic tricks like the ones in your trick tips videos. so yeahh

  • @DATkidxlilDRE For cruising, I really like the Urban Blue Longboards, and the Longboard Larry Longboards :)

  • It seems to be one of my favorite longboard videos.

  • hey i love your channel :)

do you recommend a comet loki board for freeriding, sliding and cruising? like an all around board pretty much:)?

  • Im new at long boarding. I was wondering what I should get for cruising, here in Texas its all flat land

  • also, what are the ranges for the flexes of the different decks, and which flexes are easier in a certain situation, like cruising or doing tricks?

  • @101samb *sigh* flexy for flat stable for speed :P

  • Awesome vid, I gotta say. One Q though. The part of the vid where u talked about the size of the wheels and how they pertain to what u want to do on a longboard, which kind of wheels should I get If I want to do a lot of cruising in hilly areas?

    Thx

  • @101samb I'd get 80a 75mm wheels :)

  • hi nice video! can i ask u whether is a globe pulp cruiser 31" counted as a longboard, skateboard or rather both?

    cheers!

  • @jusbringit yep! I'm guessing so.. Its a long skateboard = longboard. Its a cruiser = cruising :)

  • @LongboardUK haha alright. what longboard do u recommend for beginners?

  • @jusbringit watch the video, and decide for yourself! freeride boards include loaded dervish, tan tien, rayne vendetta, kebbek john, bc moray, dk penguin, apex 37, new original FREERIDE board ;D, and some of the landy boards :) look at those :P

  • Board at 3:40 ?

  • Nice video, question though, can you still swerve around or carve with a like cruising longboard.? If that makes any sence lol

  • @lmgdao1 yep! :)

  • @LongboardUK sweet :D thanks, ill make sure to subscribe (:

  • Nice vid!

    What about bushings though :p

I don't think theyre too important but a friend of mine carries a bag of them with him and changes them like three times during one day xD

  • I just got my very first longboard in LA last week and I'm in love with it!

This video got me even more into it!

Thanks for sharing such a nice video about longboarding!

  • *designs

  • I definitely agree with you on who invented longboarding. I mean skateboard can't be considered any form of "sidewalk-surfing" which is what the z-boys called it, but longboarding can. If you look at the first boards they look more like longboards then skateboards, these guys were riding in ditches, and they were carving and cross-steping. It wasn't until guys like Rodney Mullen came around and started doing flip tricks on those boards that they started creating new board, truck, and wheel desi

  • I realy can't decide on my second board :S I'm constanly stuck between Arbor Axis Bamboo and the Bustin Ibach. I want to do more downhill by now, but also remain on freestyle. The cons are: the Axis has no kicks and the Ibach isn't flexy.

Could you help me please? :)

  • @TheKOks11 downhill doesn't like flexy boards.. but the ibach doesn't have kicks.. i think you may have picked the wrong boards to buy.. maybe look at the arbor assult? or the new john barnet from kebbek is looking sweeetttt ;)

  • @LongboardUK

I'm niot a fan of KebbeK Lbs, but thanks anyway for awnsering (:

  • What is the board at 4:31

  • @DrRoryMagowan rayne avenger :P

  • I only recently got a bhangra and I am new to longboarding. Why is it when you watch the ppl longboard on the vids they seem so smooth riding with nice carves while I'm soo scared and shaky a bit. I \'m first trying to do cross step but every time I bring my foot back I start to get unbalanced. Ppl who cross step in the vids get this nice carve while I can't. Any tips?

  • @MiturBinlsderty PRACTICE! thats the only way you're going to get better! dont push your self, start off with just cruising and getting used to the board. also, try going faster. i know its scary but it helps keep balance :)

  • amazing vids by the way

  • editing software??

  • @TOBY99GoPrO FCP7

  • @LongboardUK cheers, by the way how long ws the shipping on your dk? i oredered mine 2 an a half months ago, an did u have to pay import tax?

  • @TOBY99GoPrO it should be with you soon! I waited 9 weeks for mine to come. The import tax was annoying.. it was about 20-40 quid if I remember.. nice choice on the longboard! :D

  • @LongboardUK thanks :) did u have to pay the income tax on your doorstep when it arrives? or did u pay before??

  • what part of the uk do you live in
