Don't believe I've heard a better recording of Chuck live anywhere and I go back a ways too. Music is subjective like all art, so there is no one "King", but one can safely say that without Chuck Berry, there would never be the art form know as Rock & Roll. True, if it didn't exist it might be necessary to invent it, but those blues licks and 12 bar would never have made it into mainstream American music or the world without him. The man is National Treasure and World Heritage site all in one.

Elvis brought it to the mainstream based on the fact that at that time period racism was a barrier that stood in the way of Rock and Roll.
