@Greentrollsmurf33 Well, it's up to personal preference. However, Starcraft requires you to hit multiple different button combos over and over instead of spamming a single button as fast as possible, so I'd say anything with Cherry MX Blue or Brown. If it's any comfort, all the SC pros use blue/browns these days.
Hmm, I realize now that you put the mic next to each one so that the results would be as good as possible, but I'm starting to think now that the frames make a big difference in how the keys ultimately sound as some of the switches that are supposed to be quieter ended up sounding louder to me. I wonder if a company like Rosewill will send you a sample of one of each of their keyboards with different switches. Then, if you could run through them quickly rather than this way, it would be better
@Cardsben Personally, I like the reds more. They're lighter though, so if you're one of those who freak out during gaming you might accidentally register some keys. Otherwise, they're the exact same as blacks, just lighter
I want an opinion for a keyboard, wich one is better for writing documents or chating and for a little gaming (i'm not a gamer but I still play sometimes). I didn't find a lot of models but SteelSeries SteelKeys 6G v2 US (black) and Razer BlackWidow (blue). Thanks!
ugh, cant decide between blues or red. im a gamer, so i think i should go with reds, yet i want the tactile and click feel of the blues. right now i am using a logitech g510 (rubber dome) and i dont really like the feel of the keys too much. also, the cherry mx blue keyboard i want (cooler master quickfire rapid) is way cheaper then the cherry mx blue keyboard i want (corsair venegance k60) so yea, a suggestion would be appreciated :-D
@killerguy1234567 I think both are good. Quickfire rapid doesn't have a numpad, so if you're used to using that for typing in numbers, be aware you will lose that ability. Otherwise, it would depend on you. Blues are still good for gaming. If you really like having that tactile and auditory feedback, I'd say go for the blues.
@custompcreview i dont use the numpad, so thats not really an issue. i think i might just go to best buy and pick up a black widow (so i dont have to wait for shipping from newegg) but i have never really typed on either key switches. there arent really any hardware store REALLY close to me that i could go to and test out both (because best buy only has one mechanical keyboard which is the black widow.) which one would you reccomend for typing and gaming?
@killerguy1234567 Yeah, I'd say go buy the Blackwidow and try it out. I use it in the office, and it's been great. Just wish it looked a bit more professional. Haha. Nice thing about B&M is you can go return it if you don't like it.
@BodyMovinPolarBear LOL razer fanboy. MX blue is the WORST gaming switch and only noobs need the worthless macro buttons and stupid backlighting. You need to look on your keyboard to type so U need backlighting? Oh and glossy finnish aswell, finger print and grease magnet, oh and expensive razer garbage prize ofc. Try steelseries 6gv2 or QPAD mk-50
@AntarcticW0LF u really think i haven't tried other keyboards ? oh yeah, backlighting is soooo bad I can not understand WHY they did backlighting. It's so annoying. damn I wish they remove it and they should even make it illegal to put backlighing on keyboards, since it is sooo distractive and totally out of place, time and logic. >.< AntarcticW0LF for president of all keyboards!
@AntarcticW0LF I don' use backlighting while I type . Nor while I play . 5% of the time I need to look at my keyboard though. And it's handy when it's dark. Also I like how the black widow is way heavier then other keyboards. The glossy finish was never a problem to me nor to ppl that have basic hygiene. I have friends with black widow standart and stealth AND ultimate and they also have no problem with the glossy finish whatsoever.
@BGSpotlight It's called constructive criticism. He is doing a review on the SOUND OF THE KEYBOARD, not the table.
If, on the other hand, you usually rest your head on the table while your typing, then this is an awesome review for you.
I'm sure the rest of us would like to hear the what keyboards sound like in a normal seated position.

@MeniYekutiel k90 is more of an MMO type keyboard, the k60 is an fps keyboard, but both are garbage. I would recommend looking into getting a rosewill keyboard or a WASD keyboard.
@MeniYekutiel Corsair say that the K60 is more geared towards FPS games but the only main difference I see between the 2 is that the K90 has macro keys and back light whereas the K60 has neither of these things. I'm also looking to get a K90 over the K60, does anyone know how the K60 is more geared towards FPS gaming?
What is the best for fps gaming and typing? Was thinking about getting a WASD keyboard v1, and they also have an option to install O-Ring Switch Dampeners which reduces the sound. Does this option ruin the feel of the mechanical keyboard typing?
@zelly2k9 I like brown if you're going for both. gaming/typing. I haven't used the O ring switch dampeners so I'm not sure. Why not get a MX brown? They're fairly quiet.
@custompcreview hi there you cant write of the the MX blue switches for gaming, the superior tactile response and audio feedback i can assure you makes a big difference when circle straifing in quake live.
did you choose these manufacturers simply because they're well known in other areas? tbh, they're all fairly trashy keyboards in the mechanical world. das is the best in here and is still considered a cheaper one because of low board quality and ABS keycaps
i got a logitech g510 for christmas from my parents. i really like it, but its a rubber dome keybore :( do you think its worth it to buy a mechanical keyboard for 99 dollars (the rosewill one, the black widow is cheaper, but has terrible reviews)
@virremannen11 nahhhh, look at the black widow on newegg, and LavcoPriceTech got one and the S key stopped working after about a month and half. The only reason I was going to get a mechanical keyboard is because my motherboard wouldn't let me into the UEFI with a USB keyboard. But I got support from ASRock (the company of my motherboard) and they sent me a beta uefi update, and now it works, so im not going to be getting a new keyboard, especially since my parents bought me this for Christmas.
picking up to much sound from under the keyboard where the vibartions are hitting the desk. thats why you should have the mic on a suspension mount...
What was the thing on the right of the keyboard? Looks like a high quality (Sound Level Meter) but if it is why you didn't give the results? Definitely I can't stand the cherry blue. Great video by the way, I waited for a high quality comparaison between a few different type of cherry keys for quite along time but couldn't find any. It's still hard to tell by a recording but it gives a better idea when it's all being compared at once in the same conditions.
i bought mine on sale after newegg had a 10% off on all keyboards on their site a couple of weeks ago :D. also, fry's had it for 100 bucks but the stock ran out before i could purchase one.
I have had the BlackWidow Ultimate and I had problems with firmware. I returned to razer and when I received my new, I sold it immediately. It does not even have wrist rest, the wrist was all the time in poor posture and often gave me her sore wrists.
I bought a subsequent K90 and for the moment I am satisfied with the keyboard. The only thing that disappoints me is that you can not set up a website on a macro key.
There were also Mionix Zibal 60 interested me and I almost bought

Hello, I am trying to decide between 2 keyboards for Gaming (StarCraft 2)
Im looking at the Das Silent with the Cherry Brown keys
Or the Mionix Zibal 60 gaming keyboard with the Cherry black keys
I hear that the Cherry black keys are better for gaming and clicking keys really fast
Is this true? And which keyboard would you go with if you were me!
