When are the politicians going to take cutbacks? They earn obscene money and we're the ones paying them. Occupy movement gave me hope for awhile that maybe those in power would start to listen, but they denegraded the movement as being filled with and controlled by communists. What I gather from reading about LBJ over the years is that he was a very vindictive, petty opportunist who stopped at almost nothing to get his own way. His hatred of the Kennedy's was well known at the time. At least JFK could be somewhat civil towards LBJ, RFK on the other hand openly loathed the man. LBJ was embroiled in the Bobby Baker scandal and would have been dropped from the ticket in 1964. Perhaps a desperate LBJ saw JFK's murder as the only path, at that point, to the oval office.

What I gather from reading about LBJ over the years is that he was a very vindictive, petty opportunist who stopped at almost nothing to get his own way. His hatred of the Kennedy's was well known at the time. At least JFK could be somewhat civil towards LBJ, RFK on the other hand openly loathed the man. LBJ was embroiled in the Bobby Baker scandal and would have been dropped from the ticket in 1964. Perhaps a desperate LBJ saw JFK's murder as the only path, at that point, to the oval office.

RFK sounds like a little kid complaining about LBJ being a bully. RFK was at least as mean-spirited and ruthless as LBJ was.
