  • lame...

  • This is very close to the art of a samurai. It includes aikijutsu, kenjutsu, and iado. However, japanese perform these techniques with greater precision than the individuals in this video.

  • Great Video, I've liked it a lot...

  • at least they don't refer to the takeda family or daito ryu... it's not! the kote gaeshi makes no sense, taking the balance and give it back? never happens, one have to break the balance in the moment of contact, and never give it back.

  • The Takeda Ryu apparently has a offshoot known as the Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha, which would denote that a practitioner went his own way with it. Is this video one of the actual system or is it the gendai budo? I'm just curious, as I am currently researching into various ryu-ha and their histories.

  • Cool video - the music blows though.

  • search "comkaijudo" for more REAL aikido techniques.

  • If the man in long-hair and black dres is Günther, then I've trained with him once :D

  • @icebane91 yes, it's Günther ;)

  • @Uliserious

Oh cool, then I've met him when he visited my club her in sweden this Autumn :D

  • song is guano apes big in japan

  • what song is this?

  • Aikido teaches knife throwing? I always wanted to take a knife class, but no school teaches them in NYC. T,T

  • It is not part of Aikido, but our school also teaches shuriken jutsu. Sorry, we have no dojo in NYC but If you are interested in shuriken jutsu than have a look at the youtube site of HouzanSuzuki.

  • It's not Aikido. It's a fake knock-off of Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu

  • Daito Ryu is an off-shoot of Takeda Ryu...

  • @Delmo67 daito ryu is not an off shoot of Takeda Ryu there is no documented evidence to back up your false claim.

  • longe live takeda shingen he is the fahter of bushido and the tiger of kai

  • Nice.

  • how many europeans are there who were appointed as teachers by Nakamura?

  • Actually most of the sensei that are now in Takeda ryu Kobilza Ha had already menkyo from Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha.

  • I very much enjoyed your video presentation. Does Takeda Ryu have any connection to Sokaku Takeda and the Daito Ryu?

  • Thank you very much! A part of the Takeda family, after being defeated in the 16th century moved to Aizu and changed the name to Daito. So Daito Ryu is something like a sideline of Takeda Ryu. Takeda is a very common name in Japan, Sokaku Takeda has got nothing to do with Takeda Ryu as far as I know.

  • Ok... So, the Maroteaux's degrees were a kind of gift, a present for his entered in TR... When Nakamura give a degrees, is it free ? No, we must pay for. So, when Maroteaux sells a grade, he is a king of thief and he is "bannished" (again, one year after his resignation), but give grades for money like Nakamura, it's different... that is the definition of a sale!

  • You are right! One of the many reasons we left Nakamura school as well!

  • R. Martoteaux make very little video, and I do not think you can judge someone on three minutes of video on youtube. As for his grades and titles, he was already in seventh DAN jujutsu before starting Takeda ryu, which is why it has taken less time than a beginner to get his grades.

I would also remind you that he was the official representative of Nakamura for Europe for years, which shows that before Maroteaux has resigned, Nakamura did not contest his grades.

  • I trained personally with his former "technical director" and this guy knew nothing about Takedaryu although 5th Dan Aikido and later even Joden Shihan. I don´t talk about short Youtube videos.

Maroteaux didn´t train at all for TR, he received his grades as a starting present from Nakamura. In Japanese thinking it is impossible to let somebody represent the school without degrees. Nakamura trusted Maroteaux to learn the school properly afterwards but he didn´t.

  • ...and by the way: I don´t judge Mr. Maroteaux as a person nor do I judge the "budo" he is doing, but after teaching Takeda Ryu for more than 15 years and having a higher menkyo in TR than he ever had I think I am qualified to judge if it is Takeda Ryu what he is doing or not.

  • First, Maroteaux had resigned. His exclusion

was tried and declared libelous (The letter of exclusion was written a year after his resignation, according to the journalist who published it)for the simle reason that you can't exclude someone who had already resigned. And on the second hand, His qualifications may not be withdrawn, Nakamura giave to him after being tested him: When you get a degree at the university, the professor who gave you can not remove it because you are disputed...

  • I am sorry! You are right! I got this information only several days ago, that he resigned first. I heard that he left the school because he was dissapointed with the Japanese. This was the information I had until some days ago.

If it is possible to take back degrees is something I don´t want to discuss here.Actually it doesn´t change anything for Mr. Maroteaux if Mr. Nakamura says he takes away all degrees.

In my opinion you shouldn´t give degrees to people with a lack of knowledge.

  • Actually I doubt that Maroteaux has ever been tested. I know that he was awarded Joden Shihan at the kickoff for ESR without having learned TAKEDA RYU at all. Most of the Japanese Shihan took 10 to 15 years for that. As I wrote before I don´t know Maroteaux but I do know Takeda Ryu and I haven´t seen him doing it properly on any video I saw from him.

  • very well done but still using external energy

  • Aikido on steroids.

  • Well, in my opinion this is disrespectful. I mean Soke Nakamura embraced Kobilza and taught him.

Now you have no roots, that's a shame.

Not to mention the clown from France (Roland Moroteaux) who just used the kindness of the japanese to steal the name of Takeda Ryu and make false use of it.

  • I respect your opinion, but I am sorry to say that you should not be to quick with your judgement if you don´t know the whole story. I can tell you that there were many reasons to leave the Nakamura branch of the school!

  • DO YOUR RYU HAVE NINJUTSU INFLUENCES?

  • I am not an expert on ninjutsu, but I guess that there were historical influences between samurai martial arts and ninjutsu in the old days. If your question refers to shuriken jutsu than I can tell you that this kind of weapon wasn´t only used by ninja.

  • what were the reasons that made maroteaux leave the japanese? and did maroteaux have any rank in takeda ryu?

thanks in advance for your answers

  • I don´t know Mr. Maroteaux personally. It is said that he was kicked out of the school because he sold falsified certificates and did not properly learn the school although he was awarded Joden Shihan before learning Takeda Ryu by the Japanese. Don´t ask me why! He is now teaching what he calls Takeda Ryu Maroto Ha! Please look for the differences in the different branches of the school. We are representing Takeda Ryu Kobilza Ha!

  • could you please tell me where you got the info from? i have assisted demonstrations of Maroteaux and he looks kindda good, but now when i hear all the criticisims and the charges he's facing i am startin to wonder.

    thanks

  • I don´t want to judge what he is doing, but I can tell you that it doesn´t have a lot to do with TAKEDA RYU. The informations about his exit of the school is the official version of Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha, which we were part of at that time. After his kickout all his grades and certificates were denied by Soke Nakamura. Maybe what he doesis good, but keep in mind that he never properly learned Takeda Ryu. As far as I know his background is Akikai and Hakko Ryu

  • hmmm i unerstand, thanks for your aswers, and i am sorry if i am disturbing you or anything but cud u tell me if nakamura is really a takeda ryu master? in my resarches i found out that he nver had a menkyo kaiden the certificat that all koryu bujutsu hav and that he isnt taching old koryu takeda ryu but rather a new form he develloped himself, hence all the dan rankings and stuff.

and by the way whats ur name? my name is Anas, nice meetin you

  • Nakamura continued to teach Takeda Ryu after the sudden and unexpected death of Soke Oba Ichio. For he never received the school scroll from the Oba family he started his own branch of Takeda Ryu Nakamura Ha in which he by the years introduced a new teaching system. The introduction of dan and kyu followed the idea to open the school for many people and was common in most of the schools at that time (Kyu and Dan invented by Jigoro Kano in the late 19th century).

  • "KO" Budo !!!!!

  • is it true that your master, Kobilza if im not mistaken, cut off himself from the japanese soke Nakamura and started his own branch - Takeda Ryu Kobilza Ha?

  • I have heard the same thing..

  • Sorry for the delay!

    Yes, this is correct!

  • really how come?

  • Well I can only say that there are good reasons, but I am sorry to say that this is not the place to write about it. Some things the Japanese did were not acceptable anymore.

  • Great video, great martial art!

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Big in Japan - Guano Apes

  • Im impressed by second lifting technique. Its the henka of ura-nage or have some other name?

  • Sorry, which technique do you mean? Maybe if you tell me the seconds of the video (when the technique happens)than I can tell you the name of the technique according to the TAKEDA school.

  • The 5th second.Lifting the opponent with sword.

  • In TAKEDA RYU the technique is called UDE ATE KAKAE KOSHIGURUMA. It is a variation of UDE ATE, a similar technique to the modern AIKIDO technique called IRIMI NAGE.

The song is a cover version of the song "Big in Japan".

  • REAL budo

  • Great video, thanks for sharing.

  • just absolutely great!

  • Thanks! Working hard to show authentic budo!
