thx for the tutorial man.. it was very usefull, especially that you showed that you can make larger terrains that automaticly get positioned correctly. One thing though, i just tried it and you can just export the terrain as a .3ds model from sketchup 8.. so why do the extra work? it works fine to export as an 3ds model directly.

@fordaloveable tbh, the old sketchup .3ds import is really messed up, so back then I have to look for an alternative.

Hi 3D Joe,
Is it possible to capture 3d sea bed model from Google earth (stand alone version) ?
I noticed that sketchup does not support under water scene.
I am using 3dsmax 2010 at home, but I could not open sketchup file which was geneterated by skerchup. Do I need to install some plugins?

Hi 3D Joe,
Thank you for your excellent tutorial.
I successfully generated 3d geo model by using "add location" button.
But I got blank window when I click "add more imagery" button when I want to expand my model area like you demonstrated in video.
Another question is how to keep texturemap when I save skp file?
