I found this out on my own hah. After I beat him legit on my 1st playthrough the second I was like not this shit again, hid & he got stuck on the other side hah. Spear makes this game cheap cuz it goes through shit. This also works on man eater. Also about man eater, there's an even cheaper trick to kill one of them before you even enter the fog!

So far he's the only boss that's killed me. When I beat him, I had the thief's ring equipped. Much of the time he'd forget I was there and walk in place, so I fired arrows at him. If you fire arrows at him one directly after another though, he'll notice you. Instead, fire an arrow and he'll start to come after you for a second, then he'll forget you're there for some reason so you may repeat this. Eventually you'll need to carefully get to another spot since he does gradually get closer to you.

i beat the flame lurker the legit way as a hunter all i need was a bow and about 500 arrows i didnt use this trick though i faced him head on and its more epic to win that way then using a trick

I was having a hard time with this boss (my first run through the game) but as long as you keep some of the giant bones between you and him, then just use soul arrow over and over, he'll go down easy once you find the right spot to do it.

I tried this method and it worked perfectly, although my victory over this previously formidable-seeming foe felt rather hollow. Still, I had felt so much frustration trying to beat him the 'legit' way that it was nevertheless nice to finally get that flaming monkey off my back. Thanks for posting!

Flame Lurker is one HELL of a relentless boss! First time I played this game I tried fighting him head on...not gonna work! He beats you down so bad...Love how badass the bosses are in this game.

Anyone find though that later on they get kinda...easy?

Easy way to rape this boss is to go and do area 4-1 4-2 4-3 first then get penetrators light weapon, walk in and rape his ass. Thats what i did and it took me 30 seconds to kill him.

The easiest way to kill the flame lurker is if you get the purple flame shield.

Once you have the shield the only thing you will need to worry about is your stamina going down.

THANK YOU!!!! I found out if you use your thief ring and SLOWLY walk around the left side of the map you can get behind him and use poison cloud then SLOWLY walk away. He will never know you are there and wont move at all. Thank you much!

what i did was i used head wrapping insanity catalyst rng of mgcl shrpnss and then i homin soul arrowed him like 4 times he is dead so easy!!!!!

i played the game enough to know that now, but he isn't that hard he's easy with the right strategy, keep the attacks ranged and have fire resistance..now the black phantoms are hard its not even fair how much health they got, or getting the pure blade stone is near impossible for me

@userofsharingan vinland is still easy, when he lifts up his giant hammer u just move back and when the hammer lands on the floor u attack, just repeat the process untill he is dead, and like i said so far the hardest boss 4 me is still the flameluker and false king

oh well when the false king attacks you just dodge and heal...and repeat, all the bosses are easy, you can only fight them so many times until they can't even kill you anymore

i usually sneak in, hit him with poison cloud once, then do a hit and hide thing. takes about 5 minutes if he doesnt kill me, second chance helps with that. gods wrath would work pretty good i bet. with the ring that makes miracles stronger. im gonna try that.

I don't know if i would say it is hard, sure it can be difficult in some areas but the game is just unforgiving on mistakes the player makes which makes it hard i suppose but that is because of human error. at least that is how i feel about the game on top of being bad ass of course :D Great tactic by the way its good to see how other people overcome these guys.

I agree. This is probably the only game that I would say ANYTHING goes and that you should use all cheap tactics to win because the game doesn't show any mercy so why should you. Normally I would be against cheap tactics but not when it comes to this game.
